This was my favorite Resident Evil of all!
When that one released my older cousin bought that pistol controller for his PS2, just because I broke my arm and he wanted something that we could play with only one hand. I was a small child that loved zombies, terror and Resident Evil stuff and he was really kind for taking a game we both would appreciate, and yes we did.
I was too afraid to play so he played and asked me to choose which way to go and door to open, what weapon should we use, and I loved it.
I'm pretty aware that this game is not as famous or important as other RE games but for me it will always shine in a different way.
My cousin has moved to countryside and I love talking to him on video. My aunt, his mother, also loved to watch him play while we decided what to do. She has passed away and having this gameplay will make me revive those memories and feelings.

People underestimate how important this is to the canon. This game showcased just how far Umbrella was sinking while still being alive. They were outright selling BOWs to anyone in an auction just to stay solvent, with a lotta high ranking executives on the cruise liner being killed all at once. In my opinion, this was the last nail in the coffin for Umbrella as a company before that last level in Umbrella Chronicles.
@@ShinShadoWolf thats a really nice perspective! Also thinking on the company choices it is actually quite strange how Umbrella has a fetish to contaminate Ships like here on Dead Aim, Revelations (2 ships), RE 5, RE 6, RE 7.

Ah yes. Leon Lite and Discount Ada. My favorite ship in the series. On a serious note, it was cool seeing Carci play this. Especially with his explanations. I saw a walkthrough of this game years ago but don't remember (or never saw) the person playing get those ragdolling headshots. Given the age and arcade lightgun feel, it's actually pretty impressive all things considering.

Also the Glock 18 isn’t even burst fire IRL it’s straight full auto at a ridiculous 1000+ RPM.

Even if it's not strictly synthwave it gave me those vibes too. And I love it to death. There's a 10 hour version of it on RUclips I like to listen to. It's definitely one of my top RE Save Room themes. Up there with RE4's Serenity and Code Veronica's save theme.

Drives me crazy when subtitles mismatch. I can't not read the subtitles, and I used to do captioning, so I'm always irked when they don't match.

A no commentary version can be found. But honestly, why deprive yourself of such a great voice.
These runs with the commentary are always so calming and such a vibe - I love having the ability to watch a chunk at a time and just chill.

I played this game a lot on my PS2, this game and Outbreak File 2 got me into the series. it's very fun to see you playing it carci, you're a hardcore fan of the franchise. Note: Dang, this game is from 2003!? I remember being blown away by the amazing pre rendered CG cutscenes, it was truly beautiful.

I have played the majority of games in the Resident Evil franchise but Dead Aim was one I did not play until a few years ago. I am impulsive when it comes to music I like, especially in video games, and I actually bought this game almost immediately after hearing the save room theme. I played Dead Aim using a mouse on PS2. I'm always surprised at how some games fully supported keyboard and mouse on PS2. Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII was another experience I enjoyed that had the option of using KBM; it had full blown key mappings and everything. I love that so much!

I remember watching my brother play this game when I was younger. Was super nostalgic watching this and very enjoyable. Makes me want to finally give it a shot myself on my new PC. I know this RE isn't too well received or anything, but I have huge soft spot for it. The dialogue and story is cheesy as hell, sure. But I kinda like how it doesn't overindulge in it and at the same time gives Bruce and FongLing some character. I actually really like the two of them and their dynamic. It's not perfect or super realistic, by any means. But considering when this game came out I don't mind it at all. I especially like Bruce as a character. He's, as I said, pretty corny, but he's got a certain charm to him I can't help but like. I wish he'd at least be referenced in another RE game. Overall I have a fondness for this game that a lot of RE fans probably don't but it's nice to see a lot of people here really like it too and have good memories with it. And of course, the music is great too. It just adds so much to the atmosphere of the game to me. And the save room themes is one of my favorites in the series.

This game is canon and take place during Umbrella's fall. Actually there's not a lot of games to talk about it after the event of Racoon City ( I mean actual 3D games , but some in 2D). Thanks for the run , I really need to play this game now , one of the few I didn't play.

I still remember the time me and my best friend in 2009 bought this game and play it in his PS2, started the game and just do what we think is the priority. An hour and a half later we were surprised that suddenly we faced the last boss, me and my friend like, "wtf, is this? Last boss?" We finished it and then talk about how short the game was because we already beat re4 the day before like 5 hours. I forgot what rank we get (maybe C). But it's fun actually to beat this game in short time after beating re4.
Strange, Morpheus's tyrant form looks similar to Alexia's first form from RE: Code Veronica.
i remember this game had really great graphics for its time, especially the zombies. i loved the look of them in this game, they look so scary.

I remember playing this on ps2 my friend had a copy I borrowed and this was my first proper resi game since I was obsessed with watchin resi 4 playthroughs at the time and that was the game I got after dead aim managed to find the steal box collectors edition never looked back after moving to re:4

Thank you for shedding light on why the dialogue and subtitles don't exactly match up. I've noticed that when I first played the game when it came out and I have always wondered why that was the case.
Also I love this and I used to rent it from Blockbuster often. I would love to see these two characters in a future Resident Evil game and what became of them between this game up to present day

"semi auto" in this game means almost auto, what a gem, saw the cover art of this game in an old playstation magazine and that's it, no demos or the full game ever, it would be a great arcade game, i would spend a coin or two

The way the screen distorts & fades away every time you change rooms is awesome, I absolutely love that feature! Also saw it in a 4K run of Silent Hill! So cool!
I've always loved how the captions didn't match the dialogue. Even in the beginning text scroll lol.
Also loved how all the voice acting in the game was recorded on a guitar hero mic in a trash can in the other room.

I was wondering: what are your thoughts on the lightgun games? I know a whole lot of people who felt that those just did not feel like "proper" RE games and I can see why, though I'm also under the impression that the most interesting RE games are the ones that embrace new concepts. See Outbreak, (at the time) RE4 and later RE7 with the shift in gameplay style.
