I love that there is someone at Harbor Freight who CLEARLY cares about auto detailing. I mean come on, the towels, the forced rotation polisher? And even if the polishers are mediocre, a quick grease swap and it brings them a step up. I know what I'm buying when I go to HF, but they have really been stepping up their quality of tools.
Hey,been buying different things including H F products. I just tested my Bauer 802 CFM leaf blower$64,to me it is sooo powerful , I don’t think any other . Weighs 6.8 lbs. I think it’s awesome. Am 82 yrs old,and trying and I enjoy the info in your videos , they’ve all been very helpful for the products I’ve bought. Great job, keep doing what you’re doing! Name is Jim and live in Dickson , Tn.
I've used your method of streak free windshield cleaning using just micro fiber towels and water and it works great. I will try these waffle towels after watching this video. Thanks Josh
Got a lot of lint from these towels drove me crazy until I figured it out. Went back to house of rags much better but not perfect. Going to try the diamond weave.
I just saw these at a local Harbor Freight and thought, "I wonder if Josh reviewed these" , thanks for a great review. Harbor Freight for the win again.
Josh I went to HF yesterday and from your recommendations bought all three sets of MF towels... the drying towel, the standard MF towels, and when I saw these I knew that I had to get some of these as well.
I'll have to try them. I still use distilled water per your advice with my blue waffle weave towels. If I have to use a cleaner, I use Sprayway. They are the OEM glass cleaner for General Motors.
I decided to buy these rags then other day and was highly impressed with first use. Washed them over the weekend with All free and clear detergent, dried on low heat, now there leaving lint all over the windows. Going to wash them once more with rags to riches and maybe add some vinegar to the wash cycle. If I still get lint these are going in the trash. I really hope the listing goes away because they were amazing the first day and the price point is top notch
@DislikePlzz I still haven't got around to washing them. I stopped by my buddies shop who is also a shine supply company seller and bought some autofiber double flip glass rags and I found the Holy Grail of window rags!!! I'll never use another window rag from now on. These rags are the shit !!!
For some reason I have issues with waffle weave towels. I have up on them & went with another towel for my windows. And yes, their new drying towels are nice! I bought one as a back up & drys great.
@@imjoshv I have a hard enough time sometimes with widows, don’t need to complicate it more. Lol. But yeah, since I have switched it’s made things easier.
A waffle weave towel is a pro detailers best kept secret to streak and lint free glass cleaning. Pro tip: Follow directions -> Always wash your towels before using them for the first time.
Waffles weaves are great but for me running a business and keeping cost in mind I like using other towels that give me the cost saving while still getting perfect results
Another budget friendly option for us diyers! But holy cow I think Home Depot has Milwaukee 15 DA polisher on sale with a battery $299 I think it’s the right one u ve mentioned?!
I (think) I’m doing a good job drying windshield after a nice wash, but in a few days when in sunlight I can see areas of haze on outside of glass. Your thoughts?
HF has definitely been going to in the right direction when attracting customers, where I feel some of the larger brands have relied on their name instead of quality… and we all know who did that and where they are today. I have become an avid shopper at HF, and of course they have their products to stay away from, but they really knocked it out of the park with their new brushless line, series 3, and icon hand tools.. lifetime warranty, no hassle.. I will gladly take a 15-20% off coupon on some premium items there… most of these tools are produced in the same factory anyway…I’ve loved all the new Icon and Quinn hand tools.. along with their new brushless line (5 year warranty on the tool) I mean come on.. sorry for the fanboys but when I can buy 6-10 of a single tool for the same price for a single tool truck brand.. I know where I’m going.. I hope more people catch onto this since there is a huge misunderstanding of made in America and assembled in the USA… most of these tools are being made in the exact same place..
@@imjoshv Ah. You know what that means now, right? You are obligated to do a head to head comparison to remove any doubt. Thanks for responding and keep up the great informative content.
I personally haven’t had the best results with a squeegee can you can’t get it in all the right angles. I always have to follow up with a towel anyways so I just skip the extra step…
@derekbelton5932 I do half of what I did from the previous slide and at the end I have a towel down in the dash. Also wipe the blade off at the end of the stroke. Works the best for me and can't even tell that there's a piece of glass for a windshield after.
Josh HELP I need help getting my tech/touch screens clean in my new truck. Ive tried all kinds of cleaner and rags. Its like a greasy film that justs smears. Takes so many new clothes to finally get them decent but noticed im getting scratches. Can you tell me what to buy?
Have you ever tried simply water and a leather chamois? I saw another detailer on here use them and almost grabbed them at HF last time but they are more expensive. but they are more reusable as well
@@imjoshv I use those purple and green towels after watching your video on those... they leave lint behind... maybe use the glass towels as a final wipe down with a quick detailer or drying aid?
Biggest issue I have with cleaning windows is the tiny fibers left behind from microfiber towels. Even tried a glass towel like this from Chemical guy’s and it’s just as bad. How do you keep from leaving behind the fibers? Not lint, the little fibers that are left behind that don’t show up until the sun hits the glass or bright light. You can see the fibers kinda like glitter in the light. Annoying. And yes, I properly washed the towels before using. I just picked up some of the HF microfiber towels that you recommended (green and purple) and they are better but not perfect. Any suggestions?? Thanks!
Yea what you are explaining is what I’m referring to as lint. If the glass is hot it will grab on to the fibers like that. It could be that there is a lot of left over fiber on the glass from previous cleanings, so removing that is the hardest part… I typically use a longer pile towel wet and sort of mop the area and then use a good towel on cool glass to dry it. It won’t remove it all right away but over time it will pick them up
Just purchased these and they left blue fibers all over my windows and dash. Obviously it doesn't help my dash is black... Maybe they gotta be washed, but so far not happy with them.
Oh man yea they recommend washing first but like I said I never do and I haven’t had any issues. Was the glass hot when you used them? That can really effect how things turn out

ive heard the person at HF behind these detailing releases use to work at meguiars
So do you use these rags fresh out of the package or do you give them a wash first ?

I picked up a couple packs of these because of you, and they are waaaay underrated! Some of the best glass towels I’ve used!

They look just like the glass towels from SM Arnold that I've been using for years... at half the price. Thanks!

I’ve been using newspaper for years to clean windows. Never leaves a streak. My dad taught me that trick and stuck with me since
Yep that’s an old school trick that still works. But the only issue is there aren’t as many newspapers anymore ha

Can you do a review on the new plush edgeless towels. Green and purple
Their new wash mitt is a dead ringer for the Chemical Guys one, dare I say the exact same except for the name on the collar, and half the price.
Very possible that they came out of the same factory
I used to swear by waffle towels for glass, now I'm sold on the diamond weave towels.

What happened to your go-to Adam's Mega Foam that you swore by up until recently?
I still love mega foam. Gsf doesn’t foam as much but I feel like it has a bit more cleaning ability
@@imjoshv Ah. You know what that means now, right? You are obligated to do a head to head comparison to remove any doubt. Thanks for responding and keep up the great informative content.
Honestly just use a small amount of dawn dish soap with rodi (or distilled water) with a microfiber cloth on windows. Followed with a Squeegee bud.

2% is a littler more than a rounding error, but in this case I don't think it matters one bit.
I was never great at math so I depended on rounding errors ha
