It's amazing to see him try to speak English out of a desire to be polite to the journalists and get his message across directly. Even though he struggled and had to switch to Ukrainian, the fact that he's still trying to be considerate to a foreign journalist is a real sign of empathy and kindness. This must be the greatest challenge of his whole life, he looks exhausted and sleep-deprived and I'm sure he's internally terrified that he'll be assassinated, but he's still thinking of others and doing an astonishingly good job

Zelensky is an incredibly brave man, you can see it on him that he is tired and stressed, but he won't give up despite facing one of the most powerful military powers on earth, and neither will the people around him.
Oh wow, that really hit home. I'm prior service US military, and Zelensky really hit the nail on the head at 4:10.
"They do not even understand our state. They do not know these streets. They do not know our people, do not understand our philosophy, our aspirations, what type of people we are. They don't know anything here. They were just sent here to fight and to die." This man just described the truth of the basic troops of any branch of any military the world over. And it sounds like he forgives the Russian troops, and pins the blame squarely on the ones giving the orders.
That said, I would LOVE to hear an interview with the Russian leadership, hear how they justify this assault on Ukraine. I'm not saying I'll agree with anything they say, but the best objective listeners always try to get the whole picture. People, you do not understand the whole situation and protect the wrong side! Ukrainian troops have been killing ordinary people in the Donbas for 8 years. They brutally killed children, women, the elderly for many years! and these people asked for help from Russia. And finally, in 2022, Russia freed people from Donbass and made them independent from Ukraine! And Russian troops entered the territory of Ukraine to destroy the warehouses with Ukrainian weapons, and Ukraine will no longer be able to kill the civilians of Donbass! Russia does not want Ukraine to die! no one wants to kill people and will not! People sit in bomb shelters for their own peace of mind, but they are not shot at!

And the mere fact that their President stayed back (knowing full well he is a walking target) instead of fleeing like the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani when the Taliban took over recently, is a marvel enough and is highly respectable. He’s a good leader, period, and NATO and the USA have to learn a lot from him. And this war, contrary to the West’s belief, has been incrementally provoked by the West themselves by breaking countless promises to Russia like you said, and expanding Eastwards. Yeah agreed, Zelensky is usually really good at speaking English, my best friend is Ukrainian so I've seen many speeches from him when watching their news. I think Zelensky has just been pushing his mind and body to the limit, he has the weight of the world on his soldiers quite literally, I don't blame him for slowing down on his mental translations he has probably gotten like 2 hours asleep a night. I was always skeptical of him, even my Ukrainian friend too, we liked him, thought he was a decent president, but thought there could be better President. Boy do we feel wrong, we didn't expect this war to come, but Zelensky has really proven himself as a war time leader president.
It is almost worrying seeing how brave Zelensky is and asking myself would my leader do the same? Would Biden get out on the battlefield with us like Zelensky? And I'm not sure Biden would, which hurts my morale somewhat. Who cares about my morale though. Ukraine is what matters now. All eyes are on Ukraine.

This guys is the coolest and best president I’ve ever seen in any county. The fact that he refuses to flee and is instead standing with his people even though there is a bounty on his head is incredible to see. He definitely truly cares about his people. I’ve never been to the Ukraine but my family is from there and it’s just heart breaking to see this happening to these innocent people. Stay strong. Don’t give up.

The same could be said for every country the West has invaded. Russia is relying on its nuclear capability. All the major powers can destroy the Earth. NATO is trying to establish a first strike capability by controlling Ukraine. That's the line. Ukraine is too close to Moscow. Naturally Russia won't allow it. That's the only reason for NATO nowadays is to establish a first strike capability. NATO is obsolete for defense.
This man put on body armor and a helmet like a soldier and is there for his people. You can see the unfathomable amount of stress he is under by just looking at him and reading his body language. Now let's add a twist. What about Russia purposely encouraging Russians to live in that part of Ukraine so there would be a higher Russian population there (to later on try to justify Russia's annexation, which started happening in 2014)? For the record, Russia is doing this in Estonia as well. I visited Estonia in 2016 (and Ukraine and Russia too). The people of Estonia 100% knew what Russia was doing and hated Russia for it
What about Russia using propaganda (internet searches, social media) to manipulate the people who live there as a roundabout to annex that part of Ukraine (just so they could get and support thr port on the Black Sea in Crimea)?

It's heartbreaking to see him almost age 10 years in 5 days. The pain, stress and tiredness in his demeanour is palpable, but despite all that, he literally exudes confidence, courage and calmness. The other thing I noticed, is just how human he is. He's not wearing a suit doing the interview sitting behind a conference table, with dozens of bodyguards around him. This man is standing in the middle of messy bunker, unshaven, wearing a t shirt, cracking his knuckles and being as candid as he could. This president is on the ground, living the same life that all Ukrainians are living right now. There are no president in the world like him. If I were to ever go to war, this is the man I would want to fight for

@@Maweresistance Oh please. Putin is an old man who is losing popularity in Russia. Putin has decided that he's going to reunite the Soviet Union, to retain power, and to leave that as his legacy. Putin showed the world that this is nothing that Ukraine or Zelenskyy actually did, when he used the excuse for the war that Russia is "liberating" Ukraine from NAZIs, which is obviously total BS. The only thing that Zelenskyy could have done to prevent the war is to betray Ukraine and hand over the country to Russia. 93% of Ukraine voted to leave the Russian federation in 1991, so the views of the vast majority of Ukrainians is clear. Russia also had other demands for not going to war that Zelenskyy clearly had no control over, like taking away NATO membership from every country that has joined NATO in the last 23 years. Putin doesn't get to dictate to the whole world what they can and can't do with their countries, and there's no way that Zelenskyy could, even if he wanted to try.
