this is actually the norm in much of the rest of the world to measure by weight rather than by volume. it prevents issues like packing flour or not removing every last bit of air from shortening or lard. FWIW I'm an American Thai spent 7 years in Europe. kitchen scales are very inexpensive and well worth the cost when it comes to more finicky recipes

Did she really just pour boiling water into wine glasses, just to pour the gelatin into different containers? Could've gone straight to the containers in my opinion, because I don't think it's good for the wine glasses to pour boiling water directly into them as it could possibly cause them to break. Could also lead to some serious injuries.

Those are Cathedral Window bars, from the 1960's, back when everyone owned Jell-O molds and the "Joys of Jell-O" cookbook and actually used them. This might be fun to make with the kids or just to be retro. Instead of her nonsensical ingredients and measurements for the cream mixture, try 1 1/4 cups heavy whipping cream, 1 1/2 cups warmed pineapple juice or apple juice, 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk, and 4 packets Knox unflavored gelatin.

this actually something that looks similar to a dessert i've had at parties, I'm Hispanic and I only ever see this at Hispanic grocery stores/parties. Not sure if she made it right per day but it is on big gelatin dessert with the clear jello cubes and a more creamy jello base surrounding them.

Jell-o jells, it does not harden! Lol I think we all know what this is a play on, they still sell this in the stores in flavors, if you are a kid of the 70s, you know what, I’m talking about that came molded in rings or a big square container in a few different flavors. You sometimes got this as a special treat along with ice cream and, popsicles and, pudding if you were laid up in bed for days because, you were either sick or because, you were recovering from a surgery!

This is from or very similar to the original Jell-o cookbook in the 50's. I believe this recipe was called royal crown or crown jewels and used a circular jello mold so it looked like a crown

For the jello, next time try this: layered jello.
You pour thin layers let it solidify and then pour a different color on top and let that one solidify. Repeat as many times as you want.

In what country do people measure milk in pounds? I've been cooking forever 60 years and I'm not familiar with this one.
