Recipe Ingredients
750 ml (3 cups) milk
135 g (2/3 cup) sugar
9 egg yolks
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tbsp corn starch

My grandma used to cook pudding on the stove with milk.
I was too young to remember her ingredients, but your video reminds me of her pudding. She made it on the stove hot milk and chocolate. When it cooled in the refrigerator it had a hard "skin" film on the top, under neath was smooth and creamy.
Me too. Granny made the best pudding on the stove. And that film part wasn't bad either. Hate Jello's version. But been afraid to try homemade version.

Actually it’s very easy.
4 c. Milk, 1c. sugar, 1/2c. cocoa, and 1/4c. corn starch. (Some do a pinch of salt. 1 tsp. Vanilla. 1tbsp. Butter)
*to prevent that ‘skin’ on top, you lay cling wrap on top but it must be touching the pudding.
But I like the skin, it tends to have a bit more ‘bitter’ taste that goes nice with the creamy underneath.
My kids were spoiled when small. I bake everything. Of course my kids were shocked when the first saw that you can buy soup in a can. But my wife and I enjoy cooking together, it’s about the only time we like each other 🤪. Well except for when we made the boys😳🤦♂️🙄😂.

I hate eggs thats why i didn't put eggs with out eggs it was still so delicious if you have cream so make it with cream
U can cut down the ratios of everything maybe from a ratio of 9 to 3 so everything would be divided by 3 …..or from 9 to 1 so everything divided by 9 and that is what i am going to do
Em Portugal 🇵🇹 chama-se Leite Creme!!!! A única diferença é no passo do açúcar invés de fazer caramelo é logo diluído no leite 😉 mas tem muito bom aspecto, vou experimentar 😋🤤 (e leva casca de limão o Leite Creme!!!)

Yes, there is a dessert or a component of desserts like this. It is basically caramel pastry cream in a ramekin. Looks good, I'll try it some time. In America many people call it pudding but I'm sure the store bought varieties are full of chemicals etc.

En Colombia se le conoce como Natilla y se hace más que todo en navidad y se come no como postre sino como algo navideño y a pedazos grandes ya que queda absolutamente firme y pastoso. Adicionalmente se come con buñuelos, son muy ricos.

@@mariavictoriatovaralvarez1403 si llevan yemas de huevos, otra cosa es que haya recetas q no las lleves, a parte la panela es azúcar sin refinar, pero es azúcar.
Yo soy del sur de México, de Chiapas para ser exactos y se parece a uno que nosotros llamamos manjar. Sinceramente no lo sé preparar pero cuando he visto que lo hacen lleva leche, fécula de maíz sabor vainilla y no recuerdo que más en este instante☺️ Eso si, es delicioso!!

As an Indian, it is very difficult to answer last question cause India is so vast in terms of food, culture and practices but i can assure that I've never even seen such kind a dessert. It looks very delicious 🤤

En Uruguay hay uno parecido pero mas difícil de hacer.
Se hierven la leche con azúcar y vainilla. Se agregan los huevos y se bate con batidora.
La mezcla se vuelca en una asadera acaramelada. Se cocina al horno al baño María.
Se llama Flan.
Es riquísimo pero muy difícil de lograr el punto correcto. 🍰

So a Carmel Custard. Probably would work better as something layered between cake layers or as a cupcake filling than to just eat. That would be crazy sweet!

in Cyprus there is a similar one called crema caramel just u ass some caramel syrup at the bottom of the cups before add the cream on top and also u put in the fridge for 20 min to be more like summer sweet but looks cool that recipe thank you

In the Philippines we call it yema ,. but we also have leche flan same 4 ingredients but I add some kind of recipe for leche flan and different how we cook...

Can you use any starch (like rice or tapioca) or will only corn starch work?
Other starch like potato starch, tapioca or glutinous rice flour might work I have not tried yet
