I just built my own out of a squire i got for $113. Got the invader, pickguard, silver knobs and a new volume pot and it was maybe $300 or $400 somthin all together, i dont really remember but the guitar sounds amazing and i love playing it
Do your own fretwork with a decent level of perfectionism and it’ll probably play better too
QC issues abound at Fender. Their first batch launch of the CuNiFe Strat pickups was disastrous (arriving with dead pickups, pickups dying shortly after install, etc.) On my 3rd replacement since launch, hope the second batch has everything figured out.
Man everyone I know has returned their Delonge Strat, too. They're having a rough time, hopefully your replacement is good!

The guitar in the thumbnail is way cooler than the guitar in the actual short which I think you knew since you didn’t put it in the thumbnail.
Whaaaat? I love the Strat. And RUclips doesn’t let creators choose the thumbnail for shorts. Definitely gonna make a video on those when they drop, though!

Have my own Tom style strat. Squier Strat that I sanded down the neck on, added locking tuners, and then pulled out all the electronics. Put in a single dirty fingers in the bridge and added a killswitch for the lolz all with a custom pearl pick guard so it looks clean as fuck.
Crazy Fender can get people to buy a strat with a single pickup for $1300. I guess if your a huge Blink182 fan and want to hang it on your wall for sentimental value sure, but as a practical instrument that's quite the rip off.
Fender is not as good as Gibson though. By that I mean their skill in separating money from the fool still needs some improvement lol. I wish I could own a business like Gibson.
@bassyey Yeah....a single pickup bolt on neck strat is just as nice as a: carved top, book matched, AAA flame maple topped, set neck guitar with abalone inlays and binding throughout, sporting 2 humbucker pickups, each with their own volume and tone control. Yeah, the fender totally holds up.

I looked at several of these on reverb and many of them had the same string alignment issue you had. 🤯
I have a mysterious guitar that has an ovation plastic back on it, the bottom half of the starcaster and also the bottom of the guitar as in if you where sitting down playing it sorta thing
And the closest part of the body to you is more fat, like jag or jazzmaster
There's only one knob because the other knob is the customer🤘

I wish I never sold my Gibson Tom delonge.
It isn't just this guitar, Fender's QC has been pretty bad the past 3 to 4 years. I have never seen so many Fenders come through with issues.
I still have my original one in sea foam and it's definitely my favorite.
I dont know why but I could never get into the giant headstocks on guitars like this.

I want one so bad but also can't get myself to pay 1300 for a single pickup guitar...call me a snob but it just feels alot for such a simple guitar. I understand it's a signature model but still...wasn't the billie joe model around like 800? That was also a single pickup model.

You can even take it to a pro and have it repainted with nitro, it'll still come cheaper.

@agufish of course! My main axe is still a duncan equipped affinity I bought for $100 when I was 14 and modified myself over the years. 10/10 amazing guitar!

Unless this is cheaper and better quality then ANY strat looking guitar from Ibanez, PRS, Strandberg, Schekter etc with an Invader pickup will take you there. Buy any other bright wood guitar and just use an Invader.

Misleading thumbnail
I own one and the guy that made it was an asshole. The strings were on in the complete wrong order (not backwards or in reverse. RANDOM ORDER) and notes just don’t ring out that well

Single pickup guitars are just a missed opportunity. We have the only stringed instrument who can shape the tone in such a way and people are like - nah I don’t want it
Or perhaps one pickup is just good enough. If I already love the sound of it, then I wouldn't have to worry about anything else from the guitar.
