i have this reel and it's beautiful. nice shinny black finish, excellent drag and nice working bail. handle feels great and the price point is spot on. i also own a diawa revros the same size and same price . the revros is just a smoother operating reel and feels like it's worth three times it's 50 bucks. the ceymar feels like it's worth the 50 bucks you paid for it once it's under load
I have to say after using this extensively this season. A fantastic reel and work horse for the money . I use it on a 7 ft 2 tip medium / medium light rod . I done everything from ned rig to senkos to flukes etc. great drag and smooth reel .
My personal spin rods all have the ceymar c-40 on them. I use them in fresh water, brackish, and saltwater. I have 4 of them. On various rods that I use for various things. I love these reels. I have never had to max out the drag either. I totally agree. Very good reel and a fantastic price for what you get. Thanks for the video.
@@humbugvideos Ok just got it out with 10 lb braid on a kastking peregree rod . Casts very well , surprisingly smooth. IIm happy with it . Just got the c-10 as well .
@@humbugvideos oh realy. Thanks advice. I have one ceymar 10. But i want to big reel too. I want stradic but to expensive ..ceymar rm145 but stradic rm550 and above.. -from malaysia.
I purchased a Ceymar 30, have not put any line on it yet. What would be a good rod to use with it? As I was not aware of the size of the reel until I received it. Will try for brook trout next cottage season. Okuma rod, or something different? Thanx in advance.
Okuma is the BEST under rated reels going. My gf had a ceymar for 2 yrs and dunked the hell out of it in salt water. Lasted 1.5 yrs before I replaced the clutch pack. I had another for 3+ yrs (Avenger) I used in salt water but I rinsed mine unlike my girl.
Awesome review! Looking to match a reel to an Okuma GSP UL Trout rod and was thinking a small Ceymar. What is the difference between the Okuma Ceymar and the Ceymar ODT reel?
I don’t know much about the OTD actually, wish I could give you more info on that! I would swing into your local tackle shop and check out the Ceymar and Shimano Sedona. Whichever one feels best in your hand I’d go with. Hope this helps👍🏽
It's a great reel. I just purchased the 4000 three months ago and so far it is wonderful.

I own 4 ceymar's (10, 25, 30 and 40) and they never fails. The 40 is the oldest and I use it for pike so pretty heavy lures.
I see on Amazon, that a Tactical Green version is available. Are you aware of it and, if so, what are your thoughts?
I haven't heard of that one, I'll have to do some research!
caught a 30lb chinook with the c-30 on a trophy xl 600 MH
Hi! Nice review. Could You tell me do You know anything about this reel: Okuma Ceymar XP Match CXTR-40M? I would like to use it for spinning.
Just got the c-30 looks little small. You think it’s good for medium action rod for bass application?
In my honest opinion I think people underestimate what a small reel can do for bass fishing. U will be fine!
@@humbugvideos Ok just got it out with 10 lb braid on a kastking peregree rod . Casts very well , surprisingly smooth. IIm happy with it . Just got the c-10 as well .
Before Ceymar, Okuma had the Trio series. That's my favorite reel.
Ceymar 30 or avenger 30? Can u sugest best reel? Look same Spec
Juliady Rifandy I think the Ceymar is a better built reel, however the bite and run feature on the Avenger ABF is awesome. I own 2 of each

Okuma makes some stellar low budget reels for sure

Great review..thank you
.i just bought one
really like my c40.. have already caught monster spanish mackerel with it and handled them like a champ.
Yup, the drags are awesome on these. Thanks for the reply!
Thanks mate, cheers from Australia.
Australia, that's awesome! Thanks for the reply
I got one Leonardo great reel fantastic vid thumbs up
What you think of the okuma c2000
C2000? Whats the name of the reel?
Is that good for catfish spinning?
Yup, it would work!
Any specific line to use on it
Where and what are you fishing?
Look so little... For pike for exemple is good or is to small?
This is the 30 size. For Pike and other large gamefish you go up to the 40 or bigger!
how many meter line u spool on it...and what diameter line u spool ?
All depends on the fish species and how your targeting it! What are you targeting with it
@@humbugvideos i want to know about 0.28 mm diameter capacity
@@Life_of_fisherman I’d check the website, they have all the specs on there
I bought the CXT-40 for Pike and Zander fishing here im Sweden🥰
Awesome, you’ll love it!

Good review
Looking at ceymar c30 or daiwa mq lt 2500
Both are great choices, but I’d swing into a local shop and just feel both of them to see which fits your style better👍🏽
The daiwa is $220 vs the okuma being $50. So the daiwa is bettter?
@@jonathonborges2914 Overall I think yes, but some people don’t like the feel of Diawas. I would also look at the Shimano Nasci too
Thank you……
I have one myself. Caught a nice steelhead.
Brandon Freer Nice! Yah I have heard a lot of steelhead guys really like this reel
@@humbugvideos, that reel is so smooth. Wouldn't trade it for nothing!!!
@@brandonfreer6348 What size do you like for steelhead, 30 or 40?
i’m sold, gonna give the C40 a try
It’s great! If you use the link in my description, it helps me out as well✌🏽
Good vid

Ceymar or Pflueger president?
Duck Gotta be the Ceymar, it just looks too clean!
Diawa revros has better drag same price
Revros is a OP reel for sure

Just found one for 34 dollars with bonus line, what a steal!
