Okuma have made some of the best reels i've ever used and i've had TDR's, stradics, aeros. If i need a good reel and i'm on a budget, i look for the okumas first. The okuma trio's are still going strong after 6-7 years of weekly abuse.
@@eimantaseimantas5604 I've got a helios sx and 2 trio's the orange 1's and a 1 bearing okuma baitrunner that was £25-£30 which punches way above its weight, i've got 2 daiwa whiskers(old silver 1's) which are brilliant and an original TDR, a shimano 2500 xt fa baitrunner which i use for feedering on my shimano aernos 8ft picker rod which is a real nice rod for short chuck to islands or snake lakes when you can't reach the far bank with my 501 pole.
I bought three at 40 size and im as happy with these as I was with the okuma epic pro which I loved to bits. I would have liked to have bought Okuma Ceymar feeder rods at 10 and 11ft BUt they are three piece plus tip which i just cant justify buying if they were two piece plus tip i would have given them a try to balance out all my gear, as such i use them on Daiwa rods and they are great.
Looking to upgrade from my 10 yr old Mitchell 300x for general feeder work. The thing that let that reel down was the line clip. What’s the clip like on these okumas? I have one other okuma reel for Carpy stuff and I love it.
The line clips on these were excellent! We was fishing with some very thin mainline and casting around 60 yards and the clip caused no damage to the line by the end of the session - a brilliant product!
Pity they don't offer these in a 3500 size and high speed retrieve. The 4000 size is too big for a match reel, and the 3000 size is too small imho. A 35 size with high speed would be a winning waggler reel. I use the XTR30 RD rear drag reels on 9ft bomb and feeder rods on commercials. They are good reels for what I use them for. Makes sense to have the drag control knob facing you whilst the rod is in the rest. At £40.00 for a 7+1 bearing reel is very good value.

@@matchfishingmagazine thanks so much. Just what I wanted to hear. Better start putting a few quid aside to get both sizes.

Thank you very much! :)
@@matchfishingmagazine Hey tony you know anything about monks lakes by any chance - Im there tomorrow for feedermasters.
Nice to see you trapping the line with your finger on the spool. The correct way to cast.
Them Matrix boys do not know how to cast properly.
