I'm getting a few comments suggesting I keep posting content that isn't interviews on this channel. It's tempting of course- but I have a long term vision that I want to be consistent with.

People come overseas to help the economy, and spend money so who rent make money who make food make money..etc
And by the way immigrants are leaving now and you can guess who is leaving billionaires and entrepreneurs going to UAE and countries who have common-sense and less tax, who leaving UK are the richest people and entrepreneurs because they feel warm and welcomed in other countries and the people are united in those countries not living as a single person who trying to make everything alone, take example of the Eastern society where families are united to seek developing but west culture destroyed itself and make it so cold to have a propos in life.

Here is a quick example of how UK citizens are being absolutely fleeced by our 'government': In 2019, the personal tax allowance (which is the amount you can earn before paying tax) was £12,500. In 2025, it is £12,570. So it is virtually unchanged. But if you use the Bank of England's inflation calculator to see what the 2019 figure is worth today, it is £15,667.46. So in other words, the fact they have not increased the tax free allowance to match inflation means we are being taxed more. Tax is crippling ordinary folk, and it is crippling the economy, hence why it is completely stagnant and not growing at all. We are being governed by morons, and people still keep voting for Tory and Labour. It boggles the mind. STOP VOTING FOR THEM.

The problem is the government isn’t the top of the pyramid, there’s a class above it calling the shots, and if you want to be CHOSEN as a candidate for government you have to follow the ruling classes agenda.
And it seems to me apart of the agenda is the end of white people.

@@educatingkate Hey Kate, I am so glad to have watched your video.
I have a very similar experience to you but I am European who immigrated to Australia. I've been working hard and supporting my mother and brothers for years. Last year I did a similar situation to you, and moved far away, and I am earning very well, and have no expenses. And still I have problems, like the politics at work and the grubbiness around me. But I smile, laugh, tell jokes, and puns try to make each day nice for my community. My biggest problem now, is like you described, the family issue. However, I am grateful to be in my current position but I have noticed dating is very difficult. In my 20s it was easier, but I was always struggling with work and uni and not having money. Very recently I had to break up with my girlfriend due to her toxic traits, and have never felt so sad and alone.
Now that I am in my early 30s, well I just look for people who are kind, empathic, and emotionally mature. I saw these qualities in you, and it has renewed hope in me. I want to Thank You from the bottom of my heart. You are a special person, and you have a lot of courage. It is morning time here, and I feel very optimistic, and hope to find someone with your qualities. I am sure that you will create great opportunities in life, and find a man who you can start a serious relationship, to build a loving family and a fullfilling life. Don't be pessimistic with all these redp ill people, or negative thoughts. Keep being you, spark joy to others, and look forward.

The amount and quality of immigration plus the load on resources is an issue and it's not unkind to point this out.
The government is to blame, the business interests are also to blame.
GDP data is why they do it.
    Quantitative Easing with people.
They also use them as a client class against the extant population.
If immigration was cut and visas withdrawn rents would be 20% cheaper. Houses would be 20% cheaper and our wages 20% higher.

    • @mapesdhs597

Indeed. It is of course understandable why a young person would find the subject very uncomfortable, because of what has surrounded them during their upbringing, especially within schools, popular entertainment, advertising, mainstream media, etc., also from their parents.
The young are inherantly optimistic, they want the world to be a better place, they like the idea of somehow everyone just being able to get along (and society needs this default outlook, otherwise there can be no aspirational future, no hope, no sense of direction, no purpose to creating a family or anything). It's a hard landing to eventually realise that the real world just isn't like that (some cultures are better than others, and some related behavioural norms are inherantly bad, such as batcha bazi and FGM), but alas it can take 30 years to figure this out, though some never do, especially if they're subjected to long term pressures from parents, friends, media, etc., never hearing contrary views, never realising just how much they're being lied to.
People will choose to believe a lie either because they want it to be true, or they're afraid it's true. The young want the world to be a fair place, but it just isn't; indeed, even within a single culture, the true measure of genuine personal liberty *is* wealth disparity, because people must have the agency to be responsible for their own bad decisions, aswell as benefiting from good ones (forcing equality of outcome is denial of agency, it's only possible via what amounts to state violence). The young strongly err towards policies of harm avoidance, which has been amplified by feminism, but this has meant a failure to prevent the import of those with bad cultural practices from the nastier parts of the world. Young people (mainly women) find it very hard to comprehend how it's remotely possible for human beings to be so sickeningly horrible to each other, it threatens the very foundation of their optimistic worldview. Alas some choose to ignore the warnings and travel to dangerous places anyway, hence the many examples of young women being murdered in places like Morocco or Afghanistan.
They emerge from the parental home and education system as people who have by definition survived until that time via structures of free stuff and protection from harm; this is entirely sensible, but in many ways it's now gone way too far (eg. millenial safe space culture, near unlimited resources, an encouraged mindset of entitlement despite the lack of any career experience or earned merit), it's produced multiple generations of people with strongly collectivist world views who don't understand how an economy works or basic meritocratic principles, and it leaves them highly vulnerbale to poltical exploitation (especially within higher education, baring in mind academia is typically 95% left leaning), for both their votes and resources. No surprise they end up living as if govt is a substitute parent, especially in fiscal terms (the state replaces the father, the welfare state replaces the father's income).
This is all discussable and so on, one can in time present facts, evidence and reasoned arguments to change minds, but it's not a solution to undo the damage already done. Even if all immigration, legal or otherwise, was halted immediately, the system cannot self correct until the imported millions leave, but there's just no way to achieve that without adopting structures of state power that I should imagine nobody would like to witness in their lifetime. Hence, it's more likely any correction will occur via structural collapse (no more free stuff), which absolutely sucks for the young who will have to live through it, all the more so if they finally realise that in order to secure their own futures and that of their culture and nation (normal and sensible ingroup preference), they will have to in whole or part abandon their idealistic notions of a uniformally fair and just world. This illogical sense of global obligation has itself been deliberately encouraged, born of the early days of the liberal movement. It's resulted in western civilisation being sacrificed upon the altar of misplaced altruism, driven largely by female voting choices because women, by their very nature, seek harm avoidance, and they try to apply that maternal view to matters of external power (relationships between nations and cultures). It's why one sees such stark differences between men and women with regard to issues such as open border policies and welfare prevention. In hard times, men fall back to stoicism, women don't.
The rot can be traced back a long way, across multiple govts of all parties in various ways at different times, but it began almost as soon as WW2 ended.
I can understand why Kate would blanche at the some of comments she's doubtless seen about immigration, but many people have become far more hard line about the issue precisely because after decades of failed promises and consequent horrors (Lee Rigby, Rotherham, Manchester, Southport, etc.), nothing has changed for the better; people have had enough, so they inevitably cast aside their normal empathy and say this far, no further. Concern for nuance is cast aside.
It's the cultural pendulum swing, something I've been writing about for years, a shift that will be ever harder to control in its nature, severity and application the longer govts & media try to prevent it from happening. If it's bottled up long enough, its ultimate expression is civil war, ground zero for which would likely be London. Govts though, as individuals in positions of power, are far too terrified of confronting the relevant demographic & cultural groups, some of whom now have significant power; the threat of violent response is ever present, they get to see the data the public does not. They know that organised mobs can be sent their way at a moment's notice, or perhaps just end up like Lee Rigby.
Of course if one lives in a far more rural or island area, a great deal of this can seem very remote and meaningless, but such isolation is still no protection from the economic damage and turmoil to which you allude (if anything, that aspect can be worse, ie. damaged supply chains, utility systems and trade structures). It means everyone's futures face ruin - savings, pensions, housing, health care, retirement provision, civic order, etc.
One can either have a viable welfare state or open borders; one cannot have both.
Worst of all, a common govt response to such a crisis is to induce war, to encourage the blame of The Other, as it allows them to divert attention away from domestic issues, increase taxes, suspend civil liberties, write off national debt and eliminate or silence opposition voices via emergency powers. The muh-Russia blame game is no accident. Some politicians even blame Putin for inflation, which is absurd.
Kate has responded rationally, she's left the UK. Grud knows what I would do if I were 35 years younger and in similar circumstance. She has more guts than I had at that age, but back then I didn't know nuthin'. The 1987 me going to uni could not comprehend the modern me one iota.

Austerity probably slowed down the decline in our living standards some what. When you live beyond your means to long you end up like Greece.
The real sickness is in 1997 a choice was made to become a low wage, low productivity economy via mass immigration and as a result we have ended up looking more like Albania and less like Norway. England is already one of the most densely populated countries in Europe. Trying to operate a country like this on that business model was suicidal. Probably to some degree it has to do with the financialisation of our economy and the fact that a lot of our big banks and wealthy elite are rent seekers and speculators.
Then instead of making structural reforms to our economy to improve productivity and moderate costs a lot of the political energy was dumped into 5 years of never ending hand wringing about austerity which was nowhere near as bad as the media made out and then we wasted another 5 years on Brexit which in theory leaving the EU was probably the right thing to do but our political class have no interest in the reforms which would make it useful like reforming planning or getting useful infrastructure built or getting our children useful technical educations instead of useless university degrees that put them in debt or alleviating the housing crisis to allow family formation. Then we wasted another 2 years on useless lockdowns over a bad cold where the elites made themselves rich at our expense. Then we have wasted another 3 years on a failed war against Russia and net zero which are two more wholly contrived and useless agendas.
Right now Britain effectively exists in a non stop constitutional crisis because of reforms made between 1997-2010 with devolution and the human rights act and this endless judicial review of parliament even though parliament is sovereign and the courts and various quangos and advisory bodies are not. They will tell you with a straight face we cannot deport foreign criminals because of a ruling of the supreme court which is not even as old as my car. The new Thames tunnel they need to build to replace the Dartford crossing has so far burned through more money in the planning and legal challenge phase than Norway spent building the worlds longest car tunnel. We have no electricity today when in 2008 Nick Clegg said we cannot build nuclear power stations because the electricity would not be available until 2022... Yeah.
Your average Brit is a left wing mid wit who wants free stuff and complains about what the lying media has told them is bad like Brexit or austerity yet cannot even grasp the basics of the real disease. They are led around by the nose by the lying media from contrived "crisis" to contrived "crisis" all while things fall apart and we are robbed.

My wife is Czech, we are both high school teachers making a good salary for the Czech Republic, but it isn’t enough to get her a visa to live in the UK. Yet economic migrants and refugees coming here illegally are not only welcomed once they arrive, but the British government also pay for them to live here. This is why I am passionately outspoken against illegal migration, my own country is blocking myself and my wife from living it in while the door is open to illegals. You can't really talk about the state of the UK without mentioning immigration. Even the economic pro-immigration argument doesn't really hold up, the UK state spending on welfare is factored into GDP growth, so when a large percentile of migrants go on welfare it means number goes up on a chart, while being a net negative to the economy. In addition to adding massive new pressure (and increasing!) onto various public/social services. On top of that we can disregard welfare and still end up with a lot of immigration being for low wage and unskilled work, resulting in people who will never be net contributors to the economy for their entire lives.
It's a disaster even if you want to talk about it in a purely economic sense or in terms of the impact on infrastructure.

One of the issues with housing,( there are several), was Thatcher opening the door for Banks to do mortgage lending. Remembering that Banks can create money from thin air and attach an interest rate. Before Thatcher made the change mortgages came from Building societies who lent out saver deposits. And never pumped the market with unending liquidity, as they could not create money from thin air like Banks.
The mass migrations, lack of supply,( Clement Atlee's 1947 Town and Country planing act is still on the books unchanged ).
So it has definitely scuppered the prospects for young British people.

In particular, Holyrood has made it illegal to say the wrong things about immigration and many other topics and has gone further than the UK. I believe it is now illegal to have hateful books at your home in Scotland.
Your HK example reveals why the UK and West is worse off. We lose our own young people who are westerners; we gain Africans and Asians who are not western. Nonetheless, HK would become furious if the Cantonese or Han were to become a minority in their own cities and countries. Everyone would.

You were brilliant in touching a nerve the other day and sharing a collective experience. The thing about immigration isn't the immigrants themselves, generally. It's the fact that the government is subsidising it to an extreme degree. There are posters in London in 100 different languages offering people help with housing benefit, in some cases up to £3000/month. At the same time young people may be trapped with their parents and have no chance of ever moving out. When the government is happy to treat it's own young people as third class citizens while giving extreme levels of support to people who can't even speak the native language - there's an issue. Some comments on immigration can be quite vile. On the other hand, some cultures definitely do not fit in well to the UK and there are above average crime rates in certain areas, towns and boroughs - and behaviour which is totally unacceptable, e.g. the grooming gangs or groups of lads carrying machetes and threatening Sky News presenters live on air. It is a very emotional issue for some people.
But again the solution is finding your own path, doing your best, making time for yourself and doing the best with your circumstances. We may be better off in countries where the government is neutral, than in the UK where there is active hostility towards its own people. Thank you for sharing

I think the rising cost of living in the UK has taken a bite out of people's social spending, which is a part of the disconnection
Who can rightfully decide to visit a pub for £6 a pint, a cinema for £15 a ticket, or a restaurant for £10-£20, when they're counting the pounds in their back pocket over food?
Unfortunately, this means you can't really talk with people, and comprehend how you're not alone in this situation. You don't even want to invite people over to talk in your cold living room, or throw the thermostat on, and shell out for it, just to gas for an hour over a cuppa

8:25 this isn't as much about policies, or the internet, this is about cultural and national identity, and how individual, societies, and political leaders respond to an unprecedented global landscape of resource challenges. It can be easy to blame social media, just as to blame immigrants, but all these woes are social problems not technical problems, and recasting the focus away from people and onto a technical platform issue is a misstep. People have to confront hard truths about what types of societies we want to build, rather than hoping for some technical or economic (or immigration policy) magic bullet fix.

For the ones coming in, what is their value, for the ones leaving, what is their value? Are the people leaving the ones with wealth or at least enough wealth to escape?

Ooh, you are sooo close! Just one more step. The reluctance to release your ideology that caused this situation! Watching it painful.
The sad thing is it's all about ego now.

My view is we need a radical overhaul of democracy devolving power from an incompetent political class to the people themselves. Our Westminster system dates back to a time when the people simply could not represent themselves.

Your video was very important and articulate. The problems we are having are complex and interlinked and its reach a dangerous boiling point. It’s getting to be quite dangerous and living in the UK the feeling I get is that those people that can are battening down the hatches for some sort of storm. What form that will take we don’t get to decide. All I’d urge for 2025 for people is look out for eachother, your closest loved ones and community because that’s what will really count in the future. Don’t stress about the video being hijacked or anything either I honestly think it was taken the right way. I’ve subscribed and hope you get to discuss this as it inevitably develops. As a UK citizen looking from the outside who isn’t a millionaire fleeing taxation you have a unique perspective.

A lot of people really resonated with your video, including me. I think a lot of people are feeling stuck in the uk, they don’t want to leave because they love the country, but it’s unrecognisable and it doesn’t look like it’ll get much better which is a real a shame tbh

Around 42 years ago I bought my first home. It was an ex-council flat and just scraped under what I could afford, costing 30k. I'd have to earn 50k a year to buy it now. The UK has being spiralling down for a number of years and is only set to get worse if something drastic doesn't occur.

I echo your feelings regarding the U.K government, it puts me in a state of anxiety and probably the same for many others. Politics used to just be in the background whilst we got on with our lives but not any more, it's now a situation of "what the hell are they going to throw at us next". I wish I didn't care, and as I am 75 I shouldn't let all the daily stupidity bother me but I remember how life used to be. The average dying age in the U.K for men was 78, for women 84 but since 2017 it has reduced by 2 weeks for every year since 2017. My theory for the reduction of life expectancy for both sexes is feelings of insecurity together with anxiety which manifests in physical illnesses and the lack of mental wellbeing.

Just for future reference, a lot of places in Hong Kong, esp. government facilities and most public transport, you can get free wifi. I would be a bit careful with those, though, and of course it's always nice to disconnect once in a while.

I think that the whole world is going through a downturn in the quality of life and freedoms and the results are callousness and lack of empathy for others but it can only get better with love and compassion which I don't see happening easily
