    Don't be afraid to go short, 5'9 180 pounds intermediate and I ride a 5'4. Granted I can't compete with longboarders but as an alternative to a shortboard on small weak days its a blast.

    I have two of them, one is a tuflite. both are awesome, both I got from surf station in St. Augustine.

    Yes we do carry Firewire surfboards. The FST seems to be the most durable construction from them.

    @SurfStationReports I only have the epoxy one for now. Im going to pick up my tuflite next weekend. Ive handled my tuflite and the only difference I can tell is the finish is nicer and it is tougher. These are both beginner borards for me.See you guys soon.

    The biscuit is 22 1/4 and 3 1/8. I don't have the Stewart anymore to check, but it was thick and wide too. The nose cracked off in a hurricane swell and I've been riding a 6'5 fish since then...it's just harder to catch waves for me now.

    yes we are weirdos over here. Actually, it gets really windy here so fins out (or forward) has your board blow into your body instead of away and flailing all over (kind of like you put the board upside down on top of your car). But mostly we are just strange. Cheers.

    Nick, we haven't heard of any cases that extreme before. Of course our waves here are not that powerful. Firewires certainly are not bullet proof but they are stronger than a standard performance poly board

    @marcoslnobrega This one is 5'11. Tory is riding his board much bigger than the recommendation out of preference. They say to ride it 3 - 6" shorter than your height. So for you that would be 5'9 - 5'6 but if you are a beginner, you would want to go bigger really. If you rode it at about 6'2-6'6 it would be like a funshape for you...which is ideal for learning. Hope that helps. Please e-mail support@surf-station. com if you have any further questions

    Yep! Tory worked with Al to design that board.

    @762sd Awesome! What kind of differences do you notice between the two constructions?

    i heard stories about the board breaking in half just from duck diving because of the way the composite string is placed and the foam being so lite.

  • @SurfStationReports
    @SurfStationReports  11 лет назад

    Yes your target size would be about 6'4 but if you get it larger it is just going to have more qualities of a midlength or funshape. It may not be your performance board for waves with more punch, but I don't think it would bother you to have one that was 6'8.

    I'm 6'1" and 210lb. I'm in my late 30's and I'm wondering if a 6'8" biscuit is too big for surfing in NJ year round since they say to buy shorter. I was riding a 6'10" Stewart funboard before this and I've been surfing since I was 16. Thanks for any input your can offer.

    Daniel, you would probably want to get one between 5'2 and 5'4. You can find a local dealer on cisurfboards . com /find-a-dealer/usa-east-coast/ but if there is not one near by we can ship you one.

    Have you ridden boards that short before? If you are used to riding little fishes and mini simmons, it will be fine but it could be a little small if you aren't accustomed to those really short boards.

    I'm 5' 8" and weigh about 140 pounds. I'm 14 and this is my second year surfing. I surf in South Jersey where the waves a mainly small. I was wondering what size I should get and where I could buy one? Thanks!

    bb, how thick and wide was the stewart? Typically the Biscuits are thicker for their height than most other boards.

    Hey I'm 5'11 170 lbs intermediate level, i found a good deal on a 5'3 biscuit but I'm wondering if that'd be way too small for me. Any ideas on it would be appreciated
