      Check out you tube videos of George Gervin .Man Dr J is my favorite all time player but IceMan is at least a Tie with Dr J. Doc taught Ice a lot about finger rolling when they were both playing for the Virginia Squires in the ABA .Gervin said it on a tribute video they had on Gervin. Gervin has got to be the most remarkable shooter of all time his repertoire is endless. Check him out on several videos if you haven't lately on RUclips. He shot 1,000 different shots or variations of shots .I just shake my head and laugh Man him and Doc on the same team was nuts though George really came into his on with San Antonio after he was traded a year or two after his rookie year. Doc is about 2 or 3 years older than ICE

      Oh no doubt about it dr j is like a graceful california condor in the are. Hes loke a mail gymnast or eagle. Body in perfect control. Swooping inon the pray. Style and flair the way he moves his arms and gigantic hands. The body control of a panther

    @MrScott4020 I agree that 70-80s were basketball players, to me that was the golden age of basketball.

    @CreatureLikeGod Dr J averaged 1.7 blocks to MJ's 0.8.Erving had 8.5 rebounds to MJ's 6.2.Dr J kicked ass on the boards,one season he was up to 15.7! I've watched bolth these guys play,MJ's the best ever. But there's only one Doctor J an he's always been favorite.

    Doc was insane with that incredible body control. But what prevented him from being like a Kobe or Jordan was his lack of that killer instinct. Julius never took over a game like Jordan did, and literally willed his team to a win. Sure, Dr J never had Scottie Pippen, but he had that ability. And if Dr J was a clutch shooter like Bird Man, he would have won 3 or 4 rings, maybe even 5. But he is still one of the greatest ever

      I don't think Dr. J ever thought of basketball as a killer sport. He just played the game with style and class and did it well every game. He had many clutch performances in particular the 1983 championship sweep against the showtime Lakers. He was a team guy not an individual trained assassin like MJ.

    I think Jordan also did a "FT line lay up" against Cavs in 1989 playoffs?

  • @MrScott4020
    @MrScott4020 13 лет назад

    @cell196 Your right,it was better. Guys could shoot jump shots, make free throws, an play defense.

  • @cell196
    @cell196 13 лет назад

    @MrScott4020 ok i'm not looking for an argument but no it was not better in the 90's defense was played and the defense was much tougher the 90's had some of the best jump shooters ever.

    Beautiful clip. Only Elgin, Dr. J and MJ had the large hands and hops to create with unlimited frequency. Lebron has some large hands as well but not like these guys.

      I saw him in his prime 20's and he was better then.
      He wasn't his best on the Sixiers
      I would put him of all time greats as with Jordon.
      Most people did not see the prime doctor.
      I with there was more film of him then.
