@@NeverKetamine Tell me you never played MGS:GB without telling me you never played MGS:GB. The whole game takes place in the same place as Metal Gear. You can even find the remains of the original Metal Gear battle tank during the events of the game.
@screamingfalcon71 I don't know what to tell you, it's a very easy fact and distinction to Google. GB takes place in an alternate timeline, one in which MG1 happened in a different time and location and with completely different events. The mainline Metal Gear series doesn't have any appearance of Galuade in it, it's a location exclusive to Ghost Babel. There's a 4th wall breaking reference to Ghost Babel that mentions Galuade in MGS4 if you look at the description of the FiveSeven but that's the only reference in the mainline series. What were you saying about having not played GB? Seems like I'm the only one that really paid attention to the details here.
@NeverKetamine And you're missing the whole point of them mentioning the wrong location. The first game took place in the mercenary fortress Outer Heaven (in an alternate timeline, it was repurposed into Galuade, making it the same place with a new name) and not Zanzibarland, which was the location from the second game.
@screamingfalcon71 Nope, you're missing it entirely. If it's the wrong location then there's no point to it besides a simple mistake on their part. Galuade and Outer Heaven aren't the same place, they're two different locations albeit with pretty much the same narrative purpose in two different unrelated universes. It's like how Solid Snake from the AC!D games is a completely different person to the mainline Solid Snake. Same name and fill a similar role, but they're completely seperate. No idea why you're pulling up Zanzibarland, I never mentioned it myself. This conversation is quite disjointed because it's just you not understanding what I'm saying, and because of that I have no use for it. Do some googling and calm down, maybe reread what I've said a couple times until you get it.
If you guys can find Rising devs, there has to be people who worked on TPP. How intentional that last act of the game was is one of the biggest mysteries that Kojima and Konami will never answer
You can easily tell this video was made in collaboration with two real Metal Gear experts such as Arc_Hound and BadHumans, bravi 👍 (if this is the result maybe I should consider the idea of giving advices to people on Twitter more often than I usually do...🤔)
There's not any reason MGS4 can't be on other platforms other than for whatever reason Konami hasn't cashed in on that..yet. I know the excuse is that it was built around the PS3's analog buttons but my only experience playing through the game was on my PS5 during the window where it was streamable on PS Now and I had no problems without the analog button presses.
A RoboCop-inspired interquel between MGS2 and 4 sounds fuckin amazing. I'm glad we got the MGR:R we got, but Metal Gear Solid Rising could have been sick as hell if Kojima Productions had the coding skill to do it before the story was drastically reworked for Platinum's version
I remember being more excited for metal gear solid rising than anything else in the world. I would sit in class and daydream about what would happen in the game all day long.
If they still wanted to make a Metal Gear Rising 2, which I doubt will ever happen at all anymore unfortunately, they should've had it be what Metal Gear SOLID Rising was going to be. That's where Kojima screwed up there: not pitching his original vision for it as a prequel to the game we got now
Being sociable and making connections with people IRL became CQC them and strap a balloon on. You can tell what a good guy Hideo is just from things like that, and how execs really stifle his creativity for dollars.
It would've been better if Konami started the 2D Metal Gear games on both arcade and console ports. Where the games have a similar concept to both Gauntlet (1985) and Beyond Castle Wolfenstein (1984).
Kojima seems like the kind of person who will have the broadest and least specific idea, then ask someone to develop it, and if they don't, it's their fault for not being able to realize his vision
Since the PS3 is very hard to emulate. Do you think Volume 2 of the MGS collection will include MGS4 based on the 360 port rather than the PS3 version?
I built two or three Pokemon decks that I was rather proud of and couldn't find a single person to play against. Everyone and their mama had Magic decks though. I guess I wasn't cool enough.
That's why Kojima is God. We'd all love a WW2 Boss/Cobra Unit game and and Frank Yeager/Cyborg Ninja game and we've all been saying it for years and years. Probably why Kojima likes those ideas. He already knows we'd want them....
I remember the teaser for Rising back in the day, and I loved it. I still loved Revengeance, but I always regretted not being able to see those events in Raiden's life. Some dialogues in mgs4 implies the core events (rescuing Sunny from the Patriots, getting his jaw destroyed, being saved and roboticized by Madnar from mg1) still happened, but it's not the same as going through them.
As for the tcg cards, it seems they ended releasing it once for Japan only. It was 2003-2004 and I was studying in Japan at the time. Visited a book and hobby store where one floor is dedicated for all kinds of popular anime stuffs and one corner they have hundreds of tcg from all the popular anime at the time, one that made me realize the trend of that time, if you are popular, you must have a tcg. Anyway, I saw metal gear solid tcg, but being me a poor student and not into tcg at that time, I skipped it and bought a single booster of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance TCG instead. If only I have the knowledge how rare this could be....
There were some MGS1 cards, not playable though I don't think. Just collectible. Might've been what you spotted. Didn't know there was a FFTA TCG, that sounds awesome.

The boss rush campaign game thing reminds me of final fantasy record keeper a little bit
I love it when this guy does that deadpan humor. Yes, we really do live in the worst timeline because we didn't get the MGS Tiger Electronics game 😂
It's a real damn shame Kojima will never remake the original Metal Gear MSX games.
22:16 Oooh every time I see cool miniatures it makes my fingers tingle!!! Just slapping down a MG-Rex mini on the table would make everyone freak!
7:57 - It's "Hee-deh-chan" radio, lol. It's from his name - Hideo, not the English verb "hide" 🤣
To be fair it's reasonable to assume either given his past with stealth games.
I'm sad we never got to play Metal Gear Crossing. 😢
If you guys can find Rising devs, there has to be people who worked on TPP. How intentional that last act of the game was is one of the biggest mysteries that Kojima and Konami will never answer
You can easily tell this video was made in collaboration with two real Metal Gear experts such as Arc_Hound and BadHumans, bravi 👍 (if this is the result maybe I should consider the idea of giving advices to people on Twitter more often than I usually do...🤔)
But then they messed up the name of the location of the first game in the script.
Thank you for reminding me that I have a Metal Gear Solid board game pre-order pending!
That's where Kojima screwed up there: not pitching his original vision for it as a prequel to the game we got now
He didnt want Platinum to mess up the lore (that's his job), and that is why they decided to make it a sequel to MGS4
Man, we really need that Metal Gear Master Collection vol. 2, MGS4 needs to be freed from the PS3 jail
Do we really need to explain what Normandy was?
Most Americans can't find Iraq or Afghanistan on a map. So probably yes.
eh might be nice for some of the kids watching who might have not gotten to that part of history class yet.
When they don't post in 2 weeks you know they got something good cooking.
Being sociable and making connections with people IRL became CQC them and strap a balloon on. You can tell what a good guy Hideo is just from things like that, and how execs really stifle his creativity for dollars.
We need Metal Gear Ac!d 3
It would've been better if Konami started the 2D Metal Gear games on both arcade and console ports.
Where the games have a similar concept to both Gauntlet (1985) and Beyond Castle Wolfenstein (1984).
A user had access to the debug mode of MGS 3D, it's a shame he didn't make it available for us to test this extra ops he had.
Same thing with the GameFAQs douche who has been gatekeeping the Peace Walker debug stuff.
kept you waiting huh?
Good to see you venom snake.
Going to get that board game!
8:09 The little humor in the subtitles :D
Oh haha that's just directly from the script, it was meant for the VO's reference. Didn't think it'd make it into the subtitles.
@@DJIVision glad it did!
PS3 is easier to emulate than the x360. it just has a strange architecture, this isn't 2013 anymore.
4:17 Video unavailable
Why?
9:08 are you sure that's not Liquid Snake on the right there, not Meryl? Even has shades on lol
I pre-ordered the board game last summer. looking forward to it hitting the table.
Incredible work 👏🏼
I built two or three Pokemon decks that I was rather proud of and couldn't find a single person to play against.
Everyone and their mama had Magic decks though. I guess I wasn't cool enough.
Why does Kojima ignored Twins Snakes remake?
"Vespa Vespa, come to me my child"
That would of been awesome a game about the boss and the cobra unit it should of been made god dam it
That's why Kojima is God.

4's 360 port must have only been a vertical slice, since if there was a full working game somewhere; it would definitely have leaked
No doubt about it, probably a some kind of teaser...running poorly.
I honestly loved watching DYKG since I was in 6th grade and llearned more about video games ever since. If there's anything I wanted to do is to narrate/host a DYKG video. Is that possible? Would love to do one.
You should do a DYKG on the River City series. More Mega Man too
