I own one and love it! It is my daily driver. Toyota is done making boring cars. Here in the States, we do not get the hybrid version but we get the more powerful 2.0L inline 4. Also here in the States, we get some TRD performance parts right from the dealer such as the TRD Air Intake Kit for more horsepower and torque as well as the TRD Lowering Springs. I have both along with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires which did not come from the dealer but I added later. I am going to be enjoying this car for a long time to come. It is definitely a keeper! Well done Toyota. Well done.
I rented one of these for several weeks this spring in France. I think it is a pretty good car and quite practical and very economical. It is well suited for European driving conditions . The one thing I would say though is there are some serious blind spots because of the way the back of the car is designed. The electronic safety devices help you get around that but when you first start driving it and are not used to it it is very strange and u settling.. Unfortunately, for some reason they don't sell the hybrid version here in the US.
Strangely the US gets the worst choice of power train options compared to the rest of the world. FWIW the 2 litre hybrid version we have available in UK & Europe is proving very popular.
i realized the blind spots you're talking about when i bought the car, i have to double check all the time bcuz i can't see that well. luckily there are features to help me
I'm curious if it's worse than my Veloster. The real tragedy is that they discontinued this car and replaced it with the most basic pos they could create
if you got the base you didnt get blind spot monitoring power trunk keyless entry and the new infortainment also the gr seats are so freaking comfortable the hug you nicely compared to the 2021 porche cayenne seats we traded that shi in it was breaking down every month and the interior was as plasticky as the chr so its kind of a win win scenario its a bit slower we got ours with a 2.0 hybrid

Let them emulate the Peugeot cars and at least place the gas and brake pedals deeper inside so that the driver and the passenger behind the driver have more space and the driver in particular is more comfortable on the seat. In this regard, almost all car companies have failed except Peugeot. in peugeot, everything is arranged correctly, the steering wheel is never positioned slightly to the left compared to the middle of the driver's body and arms or seat, nor are the pedals pulled out for no reason other than that the crash test dummy does not have any fractures on its feet
My Mom bought a 2020 CHR and last winter Toyota had a recall on the block heater. They asked people to come in so service can disconnect the block heat. It was -35 C when they told people in Winnipeg to stop using the block heater. Today Toyota has not replaced the block heater and winter is coming. I am done with Toyota and am telling people Toyota has nose dived in quality and are not fixing warranty issues in an appropriate time frame. I will never buy Toyota. Bought a new 2022 Mazda CX 5 GT Sport and I am very happy with it. Toyota is terrible.
This car has poor overal Quality. All the features like automatic headlight control, cruise control, lane assist all dont work as they should and are just annoying and honestly a safety hazard. Do not buy.
