    I have the same model (C-HR 2.0 Hybrid 184PS), it's my first car, and I really love it. It feels great to drive and It takes only about 4.5L inside the city, which is amazing.

    Pushing that torque on a CVT without falling part, you get the idea of how Toyota build cars, unlike Nissan and Subaru...

      @tails300 2 года назад +7

      Hybrid Toyota’s don’t use CVTs, they use power splitting devices, which function similarly to differentials.

      @@tails300yeah, that works like as CVT with MG1 and MG2's regeneration and reverse or forward powering balance control.
      example, start engine while driving, regeneration MG1 for provide to power to engine. start shock is controlled by MG2 powering.
      other case, when hispeed cruising with low power, MG1 is powering to backward. Output rotation speed is engine speed plus MG1 speed.
      power balamce is controlling with MG2 regeneration.
      middle acceleration, MG1 is generation, MG2 is powering.
      engine speed is controlled by MG1's generation load. MG1's power is supply to MG2, battery, A/C, and 12V system via DC-DC Converter.

    • @recoverytwentyforce7290
      @recoverytwentyforce7290 Год назад

      when only electric drive, only using MG2. MG1 is free rotating to backward or forward(this direction is reverse as MG2.).
      when backward drive, only MG2's power is available to drive. when running engine, maximum backward power and speed is maybe affected by engine power.(this limitation is no need to worry when normal drive.)
      (4th Gen Prius's PHV and later PHV model has one-way clutch at power-splitting system. this clutch make can supply MG1's power to wheel when electric-only driving.)

      Hi, I am also from the UK and have just ordered a second C-HR new this time because I am so pleased with it, I can't understand how these reviewa in America only achieve 30mpg, I drive in ECO Mode all the time and driven smoothly I easily achieve 60+mpg driven at 50 to 60mph. I have bought Toyota cars over 40 years and never had a breakdown, so although the car may seem expensive the quality of the car and reliability pays for itself.

    If I could afford a new car, this would be my next one. I love the overall style of the car and It's a decent drive. People knock it down because of it's lack of power and non existent 4 wheel drive...but it seems like a reliable vehicle, which I will take over power any day.

    • @ΧρήστοςΔενέχεισημασία
      @ΧρήστοςΔενέχεισημασία 2 года назад +5

      Lack of power? It has 184ps.... 0-100 to 8.2 seconds, all the while it is very economical in fuel and very reliable. It is a decent crossover. The vast majority of people do not need more acceleration or AWD. It is just marketing.

    • @matthewhartman7176
      @matthewhartman7176 2 года назад

      @Χρήστος Δενέχεισημασία
      Exactly. This "lack of power" comment that you hear constantly from the tuner and online reviewer community is just a bunch of nerds and tech heads making noise. Well, these people aren't the general buyer.
      For 90% of people, this car would not be considered "slow".
      Speed is metric, meaning 0-60, but speed is also relative to how each person experiences speed with their 5 senses. Professional drivers train their body to make fast feel slow so that they have more confidence on the track.
      99.99999999% of people drive on the street daily commuting, not reducing their lap times, nor being around so many different cars (reviewers) they build up hatred and exaggerations for them all.
      Whenever I hear someone say, "yeah but the CHR is slow" I just tell them to go test drive one and make their judgment. What might be "slow" to one person could be "fast" to another. Again, speed is both empirical and relative.
      As a person who used to street race big block muscle cars back in the day, the CHR IS NOT this. But the CHR IS NOT the Geo Metro everyone too nerdy for their practical good tells you it is. That's just seriously disingenuous to say the least.

    • @silviu4365
      @silviu4365 Год назад +1

      1. No AWD
      2. Trash attack angle (if FWD then most will try to get some momentum to get over a hard section but with this car without and oil pan damaged you can't go anywhere offroad)
      3. No overall space in the back (for claustrophobic people it is so bad that they feel like in a tiny box without windows and big doors, this car is meant for max 2 people, like a coupe)
      4. Hard to find second hand 2.0 version, only 1.8 which is trash (11 seconds 0-100)
      5. Cheap and low quality interior parts (the navi is so laggy that it almost can't be used)
      6. Worst hybrid system (it doesn't even have EV only mode range, only downhill max 2 km)

      Bj 2019. ca. 28000 km auf der Uhr.
      Auf dem Weg zur Arbeit ( 7 km Landstraße und 21 km Autobahn ) möchte der gerne mal 10-11 Liter.
      Auf Langstrecken sowieso... sehr enttäuschend.
      Mein Omega Bj. 1999 - 275000 km gelaufen!! braucht auf die selbe Strecke und selber Fahrweise( wir haben mal für 2 Wochen getauscht) nur 8-8,5 ltr.
      Fazit: C-HR ist ein gutes Stadtauto! - weil teiweise elektro..
      Aber haben will ich den nicht. Alles was über Schnellstraße oder Autobahn geht macht den Besitzer wahnsinnig.
      Ich bin von Toyota anderes gewöhnt...
      Hatte selber schon Carina 1,8 , Celica 2.0 und Supra 3.0 Twinturbo (Porschejäger)
      ALLE dieser "alten" Autos waren im Verbrauch günstiger, und das vor 20- 25 Jahren!

      es el CVT.. caja de cambios típicamente Japonesa que hace subir de vueltas en exceso el motor para buscar su régimen optimo (segun la marca). A mucha gente no le gusta (yo soy uno de ellos) por que muchas veces el nivel de revoluciones no concuerda con la velocidad que lleva y el ruido impacta mucho en el interior. Toyota Hybrids are not noisy. They just tend to create more noise at higher speeds. If you drive in the city from 60kph to 80kph you barely hear anything except when you accelerate. But if you usually drive in a highway from 100kph and above, don't expect the car to be quiet.

      Unfortunelly, noise, 4x4, it's propably different between Lexus and Toyota cars.

      These cars are not built for high speeds, they perform their best in city and in between city roads where you don't speed so much. That's where hybrids, cvt and fuel consumption of toyotas are at their best

    An diesen Autos sieht man, dass Japaner, insbesondere Toyota, den deutschen Markt einfach nicht begreifen. Es gibt keinen technischen Grund, das Auto so früh schon abzuregeln. Zum drehmomentschwachen Saugmotor in Verbindung mit diesem grauenhaften CVT lasse ich mich lieber erst gar nicht aus. Weiter so Toyota, aus den 2% Marktanteil werden so auch noch 0 :)

      Das ganze Konzept ist nicht auf schnellfahren ausgelegt, ich weiß in Deutschland ist das immer Thema :D Das Konzept funktioniert gut und es ist auch gut, dass Toyota endlich einen stärkeren Hybrid hat. Wir viel Stadt fährt und dann doch Leistung mal auf Überland braucht ist das Auto nicht schlecht. CVT Getriebe ist kein schlechtes Getriebe!! Es muss einem halt gefallen, genauso wie das generelle Konzept. Für mich wäre es auch nichts, aber dieses generelle schlechtreden hat das Auto definitiv nicht verdient.
      Und lieber 2.0L sauger als 1.0L dreizylinder turbo :D

      @@Mgoblagulkablong Tolles Counterargument. "Du bist dumm". Woher willst du wissen, wovon ich eine Ahnung habe? Was ist denn mit den restlichen 97% aller deutschen Autofahrer? Sind die auch alle unfassbar dumm, du Schlaumeier?

      An diesen Kommentar sieht man, das der Kommentator nicht begreift, das Toyota für den weltweiten Markt Autos verkauft und nicht allein für Deutschland. Nur weil man in DE als einziges Land schneller als 130 fahren darf, soll jeder Autohersteller ihre Autos nach Deutscher Laune bauen? Ist eh die Frage, wie lange wir das noch dürfen. Es lohnt sich für den Hersteller nicht.
      Naja: Dafür das es nur 3% sind sehe ich ganz schön viele neue Toyotas...
