The game is overwhelming when you are like me, searching answers, doing the archon quests in less than 2 months, flooding with side quests, and exploration i need to do, even if i explored over 80% of Mondstadt... i remember there are 6 régions, soon seven... and i hope ill do everything before we have 6.0... hopefully (im f2p, playing blind not skipping dialogues, i might be addicted)

You are a mad lad not skipping dialogue, it's my biggest pet peeve in the game so far. I was trying to complete each area, but kept getting distracted by the banner rewards that required new areas and story to be completed so I'm focusing on just the Archon quest and will do side missions again once I've finished. (hopefully this week)
I also don't skip dialogue. I have been playing since day 4 (I did take a year and a bit off my senior year of uni). I love reading all the books and diving into the lore. I think this is what has kept me engaged this whole time and why I get annoyed with "Wheres the skip button" types always claiming the story is not good. There are parts that are predictable, sure, but the overarching story is very well thought out and the lore is pretty deep for those who care about those things.

I quit the game back in 2.0 and didnt come back until exactly a year ago, halfway through Fontaine. I was super overwhelmed with all the content there was to do and it took me like half a year of casual playing to get caught up with the Archon Quests. I remember being in Inazuma when I pulled Nahida, and having to run my way to Sumeru just so I could pick up her level up materials lol. Honestly when you are new the game is super generous with primo as you clear Through zones and do all the events - In one year playing the 5stars Ive added to my account are: Raiden Shogun, Yae Miko, Kazuha, Yelan, Nahida, Tighnari, Furina, Neuvilette, Xilonen, 2 Mavuikas and her weapon and Citlali. I also lost quite a few of the 50-50s and added a Qiqi, Mona, Keqing, Jean and 3 (😂) Dilucs to my account. Im mostly F2P, have bought only 4 welkins. Never whale on banners, seeing what you can get with your limited primo is half the fun! And you can get a lot.

My old account was F2P (I've spent 5 bucks on this one so it doesn't count anymore haha), and on there I had Venti, Mona, Keqing, Qiqi, Ayaka, Kazuha, Diluc and I think I'm missing another one..? In just a months of gameplay (I played inconsistently). Honestly you get so many freemos and if you play regularly then I'd even say that you can definitely get one 5 star per banner swap!!! And I also feel like if you whale and spend money, basically guaranteeing that you get a character, then I feel like I haven't earned it anymoreee
Just chill, why stress over the content, just play when you want to play. Unless it's a temporary event, the vast majority of the stuff will still be there for you to do a year from now. There's no rush.
Wishing for Ayaka and losing to Mona got a visceral reaction out of me. I started playing in 2.6, just before the banner switched over from Venti to Ayaka. After a day or two of getting started, Ayaka stepped up to the banner, and I skipped the Noelle banner and dumped everything into Ayaka’s, and got… Mona. It’s quite the feeling, losing your first 50/50, especially if the character is one you really like. Mona’s great with Ayaka, but I didn’t know that back then. All I saw was all my wishes getting me not what I wanted. I did manage to snag her about a week later though. And even though I couldn’t level her up past 40 for the longest time, she was still my best character. She was my main all the way up until Navia released, and even today, if I had to pick one character as my real main, Ayaka would be the one. She’s C6 now, my first and so far only limited character at C6. And triple crowned, with her signature weapon. Might eventually get that Mistsplitter at R5, but probably not. Depends on if it reruns at a good time. We may not get any more dedicated Ayaka banners. She might be relegated to the Chronicled Wish. I still have the level 36 Cool Steel she was using back in the day. Don’t ask me why I stopped at 36, I have no clue. Maybe I shifted my focus to talents and artifacts around that time? Who knows. I retired that blade when I got Amenoma, but kept it as a memento. A neat little reminder of how far my account has come in almost 3 years.
As a new player of 3 months, Genshin is not a game that you can start off with no game plan. It should be required to spent a couple of hours understanding the gacha mechanics because there are too many pitfalls aka wasting leveling materials on every character rather than focusing on 2 or 3 characters only. My best advice is understanding where your favorite/wished character comes from. The region contains the ascension materials/boss materials to level up that character. This means if a character you want is from Natlan, you're going to have to wait many hours of game play to reach that region to collect materials. The advice is to start with 4 star characters from the beginning aka the Power 5. I can name at least 5 regrets players mentioned over the past 4 years so it's good advice to learn from veterans. I'm almost at AR 50 with 4 characters at level 80 with ascension materials ready. I had to plan ahead to make the game play more efficient so I could actually enjoy the game rather than focusing on the grind.
As someone who started in november, yes. JUST MAKE SURE TO NOT ADVANCE AR35 OR AR45 until you're actually ready.... flew past ar35 and almost locked myself past ar45 without being able to farm materials because i was under leveled.
@spcwild this is actually so relatable. this happened to me back when the game first came out. i had to beg my friends for help because i didn't properly get artifacts and mats before my world level increased past my capabilities
@@f2o.f2o no, i had so much good advice for leveling artifacts and weapons with characters that my AR level went up faster than i could keep level with. because i didn't know till after ar35, that i was supposed to pause and build up my resources. I barely got my team (chonyun, xianling, bennet, kuki (Jean as alternate)) to keep pace until i slammed into ar 45. doing pretty good now that i can breath easy and build up my new 5 stars characters/weapons/relics. honestly AR 45 in just a month of playtime seems really fast.
btw since 5.0 all of the statues give you stamina (the cap is still 240) I was shocked when my stamina went from like 130 to 240 after I updated the game

I recently discovered the interactive genshin map site… that shows all the community sourced locations for every puzzle and every chest and every item and encounter in the game. Ive been going through each region and not only 100% it, but continuing to seek out more chests after you reach the 100% number (fun fact you reach 100% WAY before you actually 100% a region). Its been kinda chill OCD fun, and seeing the comments the community leaves for chests and puzzles is super entertaining. Done, Natlan, Liyue and Mondstadt so far. Ill say that Dragonspine was a bitch but the rest were very easily doable using treasure compass.
I just started playing a few days ago mainly because wuthering waves felt like I was reading a book and I have to say genshin is very well paced and it was easy to pick up
the disappointment of getting diona, the hope after getting another 4 star, then getting slapped with another diona is DIABOLICAL this hit my feed at like the perfect time, I just recently got into genshin mostly for filler while I wait for updates in honkai star rail and,, hoo boy. not getting the venti hype is relatable--tbh I wasn't very hyped for anyone in mondstadt because I never played back when genshin first launched, and I've heard that the story really only starts to pick up/get better around sumeru,, so I'm admittedly a little biased against getting invested early on the two four stars I ended up getting at the start were candace + ororon which have both carried me so far [mostly candace ily] and the ascension materials things is so irritating?? I'm not even kidding when I say that I was so spiteful of the fact that I would have to wait until I naturally progressed to sumeru and natlan to be able to actually use the both of them as I levelled up that I unironically went across the ENTIRE map the other night just to get them, no stops aside for activating statues of the seven and waypoints along the way LMFAO [now like a third of my map is visible at least but it's funny seeing the 0-1% for all of those regions, I mostly did it because candace was the only one doing any real damage for me and I like exploring with ororon] the progression feels really rigid in an unfun way for me so far unfortunately. can't access the artifact domains until I hit ar25, so I've been left doing awful damage to bosses and spending way more time than I should realistically need to, I was fighting the geo hypostasis for upwards of like 20 minutes earlier just so I could get the materials to ascend my ningguang?? I understand that a core element of the game is definitely playing with other people but I've been more averted to that because I prefer playing by myself in open world games and I also don't want to play with someone that's just going to one tap everything for me, even if it'd be nicer for grinding I feel like out of the hoyo games I've played so far, genshin is really hitting the bottom of my list for enjoyment and engagement. I started with zenless zone zero when it first launched and it's major benefit and/or downfall is just that it's really easy, but at least the animation, gameplay, and story make up for that. I wasn't super invested in star rail either when I started playing, but the storytelling and characters grew on me to the point where I wanted to see where it was going. there's definitely challenge in hsr in the same way that there is in genshin, at least with sudden difficulty spikes, but it's at least easily solvable in hsr. I remember when I first got to the first equilibrium mission [level up cap, lets you get the next level of ascensions] that I failed miserably and repeatedly until I took a step back and actually used the crafting/cooking system to get myself buffs to make up for only having the f2p units. I passed it on the second try after using items, iirc as frustrating as it had been, at least it made me interact with some of the game mechanics? with genshin atp I've found the story to be lackluster and combat to be deliberately time consuming up until you can actually build the characters, but I might just be rushing or too nitpicky off the bat. I will say that at the very least that the map is fun to explore [and very pretty] which does definitely make up for some of my gripes with the base mechanics, but it's really starting to feel like an uphill battle that I'm not willing to die on. sorry this is super yappy but OH my lord I definitely have had some words since I started playing

I feel like you worded this perfectly and pretty much summed up my thoughts. I want to get into Star Rail but I'm not a scifi fan myself so I'm biased towards Genshin's medieval fantasy which I greatly prefer. (Except my medieval fantasy now has motorcycles KEK) I wish it was easier to build characters without having to wait and grind for AR45 because before that you really have to tough it out. This comment lowkey makes me want to give Star Rail a try 👀
@@LEFTVRISE ofc ofc! I like being detailed in my opinions to be honest, makes it more understandable for where I'm coming from y'know? I don't really think genshin itself is a bad game, it's just.... really lukewarm in a lot of aspects LOL gacha games inherently have a lot of grinding, which is something that I can understand, but the way it's handled in genshin as opposed to their other two newer games is a lot more stagnant and static in a way. with hsr, you come across the game's equivalent of domains, calyx, for credits and upgrade materials way earlier and without any kinds of level caps or requirements. sure, you can pop in and like do terribly but at least the option is there. I think hsr's artifacts are unfortunately handled around the same, in that you can spend all of your daily energy and then some just trying to get the ones you want, but it's not as necessary to get super specific ones for most characters unless you really want to invest in them and can generalize with more meh ones for a while. grinding can get really repetitive but at least you don't have to grind to be able to do the grinding LOL I also am not a huge sci-fi person [fun fact I am usually actually terrified of sci-fi, it makes me think too much] but I managed to put that aside, especially because it's not as much of 'flying through space and fighting with lasers and guns' sci-fi as it is visiting different planets and ships that have varying cultures like the different regions in genshin do. imo if you're more interested in story, yes absolutely give star rail a try!!! I will warn that the first arc/prologue can be a bit of a slog but it gets more interesting with each region I feel like one of those crypto bros being like 'invest now' but this is also a really good time to get into star rail LMFAO. the next major patch drops in like a week and the entire planet is greek/roman empire themed so if that's up your alley, hell yeah. there's also an event from the current patch [2.7] to 3.2 where you can pick a 5 star from the standard banner for free, but they hand out stellar jades like candy anyway [please, oh my god farming for stellar jades is so much more forgiving than trying to grind for primogems LOL] if you do end up getting into the game, hmu I'll give you my UID :3 it's obviously not multiplayer like genshin HOWEVER you can use one of your friend's or a rando's displayed support characters while doing the calyxes or other upgrade related things like echoes of war or caverns of corrosion. it's not necessary but it also gives credits to the people you borrow supports from and makes the grinding faster/less boring
I’m 3 weeks deep. Look there’s ALOT of gameplay. I’m up to act 2 in Fontaine and finished act 1 in Natland. You get a lot of primos grinding fun. Don’t gotta worry about not having no context cause you’re gonna be ha a blast in inazuma only to absolutely hate life in summeru. I started with neuvi luckily so he’s carried me most of the way tbh. But there’s a lot of info out there so I don’t have to worry about building the wrong characters up
i'm having fun playing right now as well, though the main issue is that the banner is quite useless to new players because the regions are too hard to access up till a certain level, you'd need to grind a bit before you can even level them up past 20

Im a new player and the games getting stressful. Im playing it for my friends. For some time I enjoyed it but now it's just overwhelming seeing all the quests, side quests, building and grinding I have to do🙏

Although it's past Mavuika and Citlali's banner, they'll give 20 pulls on the next half of 5.3 patch (plus a free four star character). Hopefully you'll get a good pull from it
Man it’s rough, 10/10 exploration at times and pretty satisfying combat late game but I would probably not consider playing the game from scratch. The story is too much of a grind.. I do love getting creating creative with janky low AR builds tho. If they added a skip button or a fast forward button for some dialogue it would be huge
I started in November and was pulling on the Nouvelette, and Fiscl (not the best move as I have no clue how to play either so they are stuck in storage for now) and got 6 Heizou and 2 Rust bows in a row. I even asked on reddit if the 4 star at the front had the highest percentage of being pulled. (my entire team C0, Heizou C5). For complete newbies the game is overwhelming, (more so if you don't play Gacha games like I don't) there is so many different currencies, different collectables, different team combo's, you don't know how the Gacha system works, also the game dialogue is slow as molasses. You also feel like the game is trying to rush you to get to the new content (for the banner rewards), but there is so much old content to do, and then daily and weekly tasks, then grinding for materials, etc. Though 5.3 has made some good QoL improvements even over 5.2, I feel like the game really doesn't explain mechanics too well, (or it's just so much of it, from talents, artifacts, world levels, new mechanics for each area it may be information overload.) also the climbing, I'm tempted to spend money on a five star or two just to make exploring easier, (but I won't). Yet six weeks later I'm still playing daily, so they must be doing something right, not sure what though.
the game definitely can be overwhelming and the fact that you can't level up your newer characters past 20 because of regions being hard to access due to your low level is a bit of a pain - you'd have to grind a bit. though i think the game is beautifully designed and is a great introduction into gacha games because of how captivating the story and easy to understand mechanics! i'm also a fantasy fan, so maybe scifi fans would prefer honkai/zzz 🤔
You did made the best move. Neuvillette has the best survivability and damage with liyue 4 star craftable weapon. He is the most brain-dead unit as he heals himself completely,deal high damage. Fischl is one of the best 4 star character,she gets OP artifacts as the game progresses so definitely a good investment. She is better than yae miko who is literally 5 star.

Bro the game is more easier now than the first time it was released. So many usefull features unlike compared back then. Some domains make it easier for begginers.
Don't give up. There's Sumeru and Fontaine for you to explore. Though I would recommend using some video guides to help with world quests and chest hunting when you get to Sumeru and Fontaine. Congrats on your 2 Dionas. I still don't have her C1 after 4 years.

Archers are very awkward in the game and the mechanics are made to be harder for whatever reason. I have Fischl and struggle using her and while I could spend hours practicing... its not optimal or what you'd want. Genshin, has this way of making it easier for people to get into as time goes on (that might be a focus for them) which makes it a great game to suggest to people.
Gaia mein ni… I mean, Kaeya as your main DPS? Are you the relative of a certain mackerel-headed Kaeya main who forces Kaeya to play _every single role_ in the game using _every single sword_ who believes that Kaeya's rating goes up _every single patch_ because of the new content being added? Mavuika in particular, because Kaeya gives the extra Cryo application Citlali needs for Mavuika to constantly Melt her attacks… Anyways, might check out them next vids on this subject. I can't see myself starting again, there's just so much content that just thinking of doing it all again shuts my organic CPU down… Also, once you have two good Characters built, one DPS and one healer, it'd be a good idea to start farming _every single Weekly Boss every week_ for as long as your sanity can handle it. You'll get a stock of Weekly Boss mats, Solvents, Billets, and most importantly, those elemental crystals for Character Ascension. Maybe even luck out on some Artifacts, albeit only Gladiator's or Wanderer's…

It's way more player friendly new chars powercreept old ones or enable old ones, hyperbloom and aggravate exist. So genshin is more beginner friendly it ever was 😁
Considering that you spent money on the game to pull within hours of starting it, i think you should quit the game and uninstall, that is just not a good sign for the future at all.

Nope. They pile AR on you for EVERYTHING you do then your world levels or you feel weak for not ascending.. so you do.. the game that is supposed to be played slowly is forcing you to higher levels and harder content without letting build a team thats applicable. World and character progression are not on par. O yea and theres pulling 2 of the same shitty character from TWO SEPARATE banners.

Ive started the game about when 5.2 came, i letteraly finished chapter 5: act 4 today... im having fun so far, and i actually enjoy the story... for the gameplay, well i havent ever seen the game over screen, if there is one... the only problem i think im encountering is wishing, because i main traveler, But i know i cant have cool characters i saw in old regions, i dont know if its beginner friendly, But i was able to play until almost the end of Natlan, and found the game easy with starter character and like the permanent wish banner, also, i played the whole game blind... so of course when i saw this video, i thought "hum, is it not?"... but anyway, i thought the game was fun so far, and not too hard... (even if it is overwhelming)

It should be required to spent a couple of hours understanding the gacha mechanics because there are too many pitfalls aka wasting leveling materials on every character rather than focusing on 2 or 3 characters only. My best advice is understanding where your favorite/wished character comes from. The region contains the ascension materials/boss materials to level up that character. This means if a character you want is from Natlan, you're going to have to wait many hours of game play to reach that region to collect materials. The advice is to start with 4 star characters from the beginning aka the Power 5. I can name at least 5 regrets players mentioned over the past 4 years so it's good advice to learn from veterans. I'm almost at AR 50 with 4 characters at level 80 with ascension materials ready. I had to plan ahead to make the game play more efficient so I could actually enjoy the game rather than focusing on the grind.
It's still worth it if you want a game based on its lore, and not on his QoL.
As someone who started in november, yes. JUST MAKE SURE TO NOT ADVANCE AR35 OR AR45 until you're actually ready.... flew past ar35 and almost locked myself past ar45 without being able to farm materials because i was under leveled.

i had to beg my friends for help because i didn't properly get artifacts and mats before my world level increased past my capabilities
Always level up your main dps first because they're on the field the whole time
@@f2o.f2o no, i had so much good advice for leveling artifacts and weapons with characters that my AR level went up faster than i could keep level with. because i didn't know till after ar35, that i was supposed to pause and build up my resources. I barely got my team (chonyun, xianling, bennet, kuki (Jean as alternate)) to keep pace until i slammed into ar 45. doing pretty good now that i can breath easy and build up my new 5 stars characters/weapons/relics. honestly AR 45 in just a month of playtime seems really fast.
It's a lot more beginner friendly now.
btw since 5.0 all of the statues give you stamina (the cap is still 240)
I was shocked when my stamina went from like 130 to 240 after I updated the game

I started in 2022 but still haven't bothered to reach 100% in any map. I get satisfied with 70-80% explore percentage.

I recently discovered the interactive genshin map site… that shows all the community sourced locations for every puzzle and every chest and every item and encounter in the game. Ive been going through each region and not only 100% it, but continuing to seek out more chests after you reach the 100% number (fun fact you reach 100% WAY before you actually 100% a region).
Its been kinda chill OCD fun, and seeing the comments the community leaves for chests and puzzles is super entertaining. Done, Natlan, Liyue and Mondstadt so far. Ill say that Dragonspine was a bitch but the rest were very easily doable using treasure compass.

this hit my feed at like the perfect time, I just recently got into genshin mostly for filler while I wait for updates in honkai star rail and,, hoo boy. not getting the venti hype is relatable--tbh I wasn't very hyped for anyone in mondstadt because I never played back when genshin first launched, and I've heard that the story really only starts to pick up/get better around sumeru,, so I'm admittedly a little biased against getting invested early on
the two four stars I ended up getting at the start were candace + ororon which have both carried me so far [mostly candace ily] and the ascension materials things is so irritating?? I'm not even kidding when I say that I was so spiteful of the fact that I would have to wait until I naturally progressed to sumeru and natlan to be able to actually use the both of them as I levelled up that I unironically went across the ENTIRE map the other night just to get them, no stops aside for activating statues of the seven and waypoints along the way LMFAO [now like a third of my map is visible at least but it's funny seeing the 0-1% for all of those regions, I mostly did it because candace was the only one doing any real damage for me and I like exploring with ororon]
the progression feels really rigid in an unfun way for me so far unfortunately. can't access the artifact domains until I hit ar25, so I've been left doing awful damage to bosses and spending way more time than I should realistically need to, I was fighting the geo hypostasis for upwards of like 20 minutes earlier just so I could get the materials to ascend my ningguang?? I understand that a core element of the game is definitely playing with other people but I've been more averted to that because I prefer playing by myself in open world games and I also don't want to play with someone that's just going to one tap everything for me, even if it'd be nicer for grinding
I feel like out of the hoyo games I've played so far, genshin is really hitting the bottom of my list for enjoyment and engagement. I started with zenless zone zero when it first launched and it's major benefit and/or downfall is just that it's really easy, but at least the animation, gameplay, and story make up for that. I wasn't super invested in star rail either when I started playing, but the storytelling and characters grew on me to the point where I wanted to see where it was going. there's definitely challenge in hsr in the same way that there is in genshin, at least with sudden difficulty spikes, but it's at least easily solvable in hsr. I remember when I first got to the first equilibrium mission [level up cap, lets you get the next level of ascensions] that I failed miserably and repeatedly until I took a step back and actually used the crafting/cooking system to get myself buffs to make up for only having the f2p units. I passed it on the second try after using items, iirc
as frustrating as it had been, at least it made me interact with some of the game mechanics? with genshin atp I've found the story to be lackluster and combat to be deliberately time consuming up until you can actually build the characters, but I might just be rushing or too nitpicky off the bat. I will say that at the very least that the map is fun to explore [and very pretty] which does definitely make up for some of my gripes with the base mechanics, but it's really starting to feel like an uphill battle that I'm not willing to die on. sorry this is super yappy but OH my lord I definitely have had some words since I started playing

I want to get into Star Rail but I'm not a scifi fan myself so I'm biased towards Genshin's medieval fantasy which I greatly prefer. (Except my medieval fantasy now has motorcycles KEK)
I wish it was easier to build characters without having to wait and grind for AR45 because before that you really have to tough it out.

ofc ofc! I like being detailed in my opinions to be honest, makes it more understandable for where I'm coming from y'know? I don't really think genshin itself is a bad game, it's just.... really lukewarm in a lot of aspects LOL
gacha games inherently have a lot of grinding, which is something that I can understand, but the way it's handled in genshin as opposed to their other two newer games is a lot more stagnant and static in a way. with hsr, you come across the game's equivalent of domains, calyx, for credits and upgrade materials way earlier and without any kinds of level caps or requirements. sure, you can pop in and like do terribly but at least the option is there.
I think hsr's artifacts are unfortunately handled around the same, in that you can spend all of your daily energy and then some just trying to get the ones you want, but it's not as necessary to get super specific ones for most characters unless you really want to invest in them and can generalize with more meh ones for a while. grinding can get really repetitive but at least you don't have to grind to be able to do the grinding LOL
I also am not a huge sci-fi person [fun fact I am usually actually terrified of sci-fi, it makes me think too much] but I managed to put that aside, especially because it's not as much of 'flying through space and fighting with lasers and guns' sci-fi as it is visiting different planets and ships that have varying cultures like the different regions in genshin do. imo if you're more interested in story, yes absolutely give star rail a try!!! I will warn that the first arc/prologue can be a bit of a slog but it gets more interesting with each region
I feel like one of those crypto bros being like 'invest now' but this is also a really good time to get into star rail LMFAO. the next major patch drops in like a week and the entire planet is greek/roman empire themed so if that's up your alley, hell yeah. there's also an event from the current patch [2.7] to 3.2 where you can pick a 5 star from the standard banner for free, but they hand out stellar jades like candy anyway [please, oh my god farming for stellar jades is so much more forgiving than trying to grind for primogems LOL]
if you do end up getting into the game, hmu I'll give you my UID :3 it's obviously not multiplayer like genshin HOWEVER you can use one of your friend's or a rando's displayed support characters while doing the calyxes or other upgrade related things like echoes of war or caverns of corrosion. it's not necessary but it also gives credits to the people you borrow supports from and makes the grinding faster/less boring

I’m 3 weeks deep. Look there’s ALOT of gameplay. I’m up to act 2 in Fontaine and finished act 1 in Natland. You get a lot of primos grinding fun. Don’t gotta worry about not having no context cause you’re gonna be ha a blast in inazuma only to absolutely hate life in summeru. I started with neuvi luckily so he’s carried me most of the way tbh. But there’s a lot of info out there so I don’t have to worry about building the wrong characters up
I hated doing the puzzles in Inazuma when it first came out, I'm readu to suffer in Sumeru 🔥🔥

Man it’s rough, 10/10 exploration at times and pretty satisfying combat late game but I would probably not consider playing the game from scratch. The story is too much of a grind..
I do love getting creating creative with janky low AR builds tho. If they added a skip button or a fast forward button for some dialogue it would be huge
I started in November and was pulling on the Nouvelette, and Fiscl (not the best move as I have no clue how to play either so they are stuck in storage for now) and got 6 Heizou and 2 Rust bows in a row. I even asked on reddit if the 4 star at the front had the highest percentage of being pulled. (my entire team C0, Heizou C5).
For complete newbies the game is overwhelming, (more so if you don't play Gacha games like I don't) there is so many different currencies, different collectables, different team combo's, you don't know how the Gacha system works, also the game dialogue is slow as molasses.
You also feel like the game is trying to rush you to get to the new content (for the banner rewards), but there is so much old content to do, and then daily and weekly tasks, then grinding for materials, etc.
Though 5.3 has made some good QoL improvements even over 5.2, I feel like the game really doesn't explain mechanics too well, (or it's just so much of it, from talents, artifacts, world levels, new mechanics for each area it may be information overload.) also the climbing, I'm tempted to spend money on a five star or two just to make exploring easier, (but I won't).
Yet six weeks later I'm still playing daily, so they must be doing something right, not sure what though.
the game definitely can be overwhelming and the fact that you can't level up your newer characters past 20 because of regions being hard to access due to your low level is a bit of a pain - you'd have to grind a bit.
though i think the game is beautifully designed and is a great introduction into gacha games because of how captivating the story and easy to understand mechanics!

You did made the best move. Neuvillette has the best survivability and damage with liyue 4 star craftable weapon. He is the most brain-dead unit as he heals himself completely,deal high damage.
Fischl is one of the best 4 star character,she gets OP artifacts as the game progresses so definitely a good investment. She is better than yae miko who is literally 5 star.

Bro the game is more easier now than the first time it was released. So many usefull features unlike compared back then. Some domains make it easier for begginers.
Don't give up. There's Sumeru and Fontaine for you to explore. Though I would recommend using some video guides to help with world quests and chest hunting when you get to Sumeru and Fontaine. Congrats on your 2 Dionas. I still don't have her C1 after 4 years.

Archers are very awkward in the game and the mechanics are made to be harder for whatever reason. I have Fischl and struggle using her and while I could spend hours practicing... its not optimal or what you'd want.
Genshin, has this way of making it easier for people to get into as time goes on (that might be a focus for them) which makes it a great game to suggest to people.

Are you the relative of a certain mackerel-headed Kaeya main who forces Kaeya to play _every single role_ in the game using _every single sword_ who believes that Kaeya's rating goes up _every single patch_ because of the new content being added? Mavuika in particular, because Kaeya gives the extra Cryo application Citlali needs for Mavuika to constantly Melt her attacks…

Also, once you have two good Characters built, one DPS and one healer, it'd be a good idea to start farming _every single Weekly Boss every week_ for as long as your sanity can handle it. You'll get a stock of Weekly Boss mats, Solvents, Billets, and most importantly, those elemental crystals for Character Ascension. Maybe even luck out on some Artifacts, albeit only Gladiator's or Wanderer's…

They pile AR on you for EVERYTHING you do then your world levels or you feel weak for not ascending.. so you do.. the game that is supposed to be played slowly is forcing you to higher levels and harder content without letting build a team thats applicable. Ive started the game about when 5.2 came, i letteraly finished chapter 5: act 4 today... im having fun so far, and i actually enjoy the story... for the gameplay, well i havent ever seen the game over screen, if there is one... the only problem i think im encountering is wishing, because i main traveler, But i know i cant have cool characters i saw in old regions, i dont know if its beginner friendly, But i was able to play until almost the end of Natlan, and found the game easy with starter character and like the permanent wish banner, also, i played the whole game blind... so of course when i saw this video, i thought "hum, is it not?"... but anyway, i thought the game was fun so far, and not too hard... (even if it is overwhelming)
