Being nice to Chopper is always a win...
Bon Clay is such a good character. One of the first Bad Guys you can see being allys if things were different.
Now for the question of the day...
Do you feel that Stakes or tension is lessened when a show uses fake out deaths like "Ma-ma-maa" guy Igaram?
I have found that some reactors call it bad and others like you seem not to be bothered.
There are a couple deaths Like Kuina that I always question and others like Igaram where I thought he died and was confused to see him alive with how the explosion was.
I am on the fence in other words over whether or not Fake out deaths ruin a story.
Everyone welcome Soup_time to the Patreon fold :D
31:40 Ah yes, that time Usopp somehow managed to summon Franky's theme before Franky was even introduced.
What I love about One Piece is that sometimes there’s a thought process of “Can Luffy beat (blank)?”, and when the answer is “No.”, we get scenes like the end of Luffy vs. Crocodile. Absolutely jaw-dropping.
I mean... duh, not all victories over the baddies are instantly and in the first duel. Even in other shows.
The fact that Oda always gives all his supporting characters something to do in each arc is truly something to behold, especially when compared to other shounen series that reduce cool characters to cheerleaders so often.
See this is what I was talking about when I mentioned "Perfecting the One Piece formula." This way of splitting up all the characters across one location and giving each one something to do is just such a consistently good storytelling technique.
I always love that it was Zoro and Ussop, Luffy's two closest friends on the crew who were the first to declare with their whole heart and soul that Luffy WILL be King of the Pirates
Alabasta is the point in One Piece where you found out if you like the show or loved it. Everything is the biggest its ever been, everyone gets a moment to shine, nothing feels cheap, all the wins feel earned and the fights are great
literally one of my favorite arcs to this day, and I'm over 1,000 episodes in
Alabasta is the arc One Piece went from being a great show to the best show of all time in my opinion!
The story was really clever with not only giving Luffy his first major L against Crocodile but also continuously making us question Nico Robin's motivations, from being Crocodile's right hand to then helping Luffy and Igaram being alive.
But man, amazing moments for Karoo and Usopp in this portion, and everyone has a chance to shine waiting for them
Honestly, it took a long while for Usopp to grow on me as a character. Like, somewhere around three times further than you’ve made it here. Now that I’ve developed an appreciation for him, coming back to moments like the rubber band attack in the middle of playing whack-a-mole are just hilarious. He’s so fun. 😂
That battle of Usopp and Chopper was my absolute favorite in the entire Arc. I swear, seeing Usopp so disheveled made me cry and salute the man for standing his ground to the bitter end! He's physically weak, but his heart is absolutely stronger than Luffy's ever will be! :D
One thing that is great about One Piece was that it was one of the first Shonen to have characters besides the MC have big important battles that have consequences and not just be punching bags waiting for the hero to rescue them. All the members of the crew have their arcs in each fight, they grow and overcome a flaw to become strong enough to win. It's really beautiful comparing everyone before and after.
11:42 Sanji's head bump is in the shape of a heart since Nami hit him.
It really says something that I'm as excited to approach the climax of this arc in the Wins videos as I was when watching the actual show!
Saddest moment? Oh, you sweet, sweet summer child
OP saturdays are the Best ! Love your content 😊😊😊❤❤
These string of events (cause I read the manga) are just so good! You feel the trust that everyone has in luffy, and the sheer cleverness of everything. This is why we love the alabasta saga! It has amazing buildup and great scenes for so many characters, just like with Usopp and Chopper vs Mr 4 and Mrs Merry Christmas lol. And get this, it just gets better and better!
Great too see you back
I never left xD
Alabasta is still one of my favourite Arcs. Luffy unexpectedely loosing was such a mind blowing moment for me! And then the absolutely amazing twist with the white armband I did not see coming! There are so many great moments and you certainly try your best to win them all
Mr 2 my goat!
Never forget that Usopp is the first Straw Hat to declare to an enemy that Luffy is the one that will become Pirate King.
Just want to point out that on 6:50 or so, Luffy has used Finger Net before against Arlong, but I think that might have been just it
Yep, not really used much even out the 1100ish episodes but he was throwing everything at this fight.
Oh don't worry about Robin
34:38 it’s official. Chopper is the cutest member of the straw hat pirates. Not even Nami or Vivi can match him. Absolutely loved this video, everyone gets their moments, and nothing feels untouched on, it’s so so good. There are plenty of reasons why lots of people think Alabasta is the greatest arc in the entire series!
Oh my, i noticed for the first time when nami bonked zorro and sanji, sanjis bruise is heartshaped and red❤😂😂😂
21:00 I cried starting from this scene where they passed each other and the entirety of Karoos undying loyalty and courage to protect Vivi. Karuhs loyalty moved me so much that I just couldn't help myself from crying even if it was my rewatch of the series and I knew that karoo would be fine.
I friggin love one piece! I can't wait for the next arc.
I am so late to watching this video but I just noticed Sanji's bump on the head is in the shape of a heart at 11:41
Another awesome episode. I have got to marathon this series if I get half a chance.
Since Crocodile can dry with his right hand. I wonder what power his left hand would be if he still had it.
Actually, Gum Gum Finger Net was used on Arlong.
this
Too bad that that Papa Roach AMV with the UsoCho fight got taken down. Demonstrated the epicness of this fight easily.
I believe Luffy used the Finger Net attack against Don Krieg.
The doggo gun, is a gun that ate the mutt mutt fruit. Not a dog that ate the gun gun fruit.
Happy eastern! 🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇
We here
I wanna give a warning that next time there's a new intro you should skip it until episode 130
Bon Chan forever
For those who dont know the reason Luffy was able to grab Crocodile was because water+sand=mud and Crocodile is a Sand Man not a Mud Man
bro can i give double likes

Also, sanji is showing bonclay respect. later people have unjustly labeled him transphobic for being rude to future characters that in all honesty don't deserve respect for how they treat others. But sadly you can't show Trans people in any negative light or call them out for toxic behaviors.
I friggin love one piece! I can't wait for the next arc.
