Honestly, luffy zoro and sanji just ignoring opponents and just talking or arguing with each is one of my favourite ways of flexing power,idk how many times they've done it,but when it happens,its the best
True but I've also noticed it's not done, (yet) in the annoying way where they're chatting for a long time instead of just fighting, as I pointed out in this video I think, I love how they don't do that, always bugs me in other anime. One Piece just....hits different for me rn I must admit.
It might be because it always gets acknowledged in-story that they're talking. Usually with a gag overreaction. It's therefore internally consistent and funny, instead of being 'oh they're talking for a long time and the bad guys are just standing around for no reason'. @@AnimeWins
So about the guy fixing the door at 14:49
In chapter one of One Piece of the manga, when the bandit that attacks Shanks breaks the bar door to enter, in a later panel the door is fixed.
The reader asked Oda how that was possible, and Oda made up a story of a carpenter guy and mede up a sketch off him... (obviously to cover up a continuity error)
The anime included that guy there as an easter egg to that whole thing.
Yes!! Oda-sensei even expanded on that original gag character (Minatomo-san) and gave him a backstory with members of his family being scattered around between Fusha Village and Wano.
That's amazing but what I love the most is how consistent the anime is in general, so when it was pointed out that he missed something, (totally human nature, especially working as hard as was/is) he goes back and fixes it in such a lovely and wholesome way like that! Oda is legit one of my favorites ngl.
Luffy climbing the Drum Rockies is one of the most underrated scenes in my opinion.
It was done so well in the anime, it felt like I could almost feel it in my fingertips oddly enough, even worse when he fell for a moment, it was horrible, but great.
It's weird how I never see it referenced in compilation videos
You know the backstory is good when I'm tearing up just from seeing it getting winned.

Oh boi, that carpenter in episode 81 is Minatomo, and he's a legend. His identity spawned out of a fan noticing an art error back in chapter 1. You see, when Higuma the bandit enters the bar he busts the doors yet when he left the doors were fixed, one fan asked about that so Oda created Minatomo as a wandering carpenter who has a compulsion to fix broken doors. He sporadically appears throughout the anime by doors, here it's obvious but sometimes it isn't, he's like Pandaman. Oda doesn't make mistakes often but when he does he turns it around, the SBS are always a riot when he answers questions like that.
Minatomo-san ❤️ Oda-sensei even expanded on him, turning him from a gag character to a full fledged one with family history and everything!

Man this arc is just so good. The hiking bear jokes always make me laugh, Luffy’s climb up the mountain always makes me cringe from how brutal it is, and choppers backstory hits me so hard every time. AND WE HAVE JUST STARTED 😭
Drum arc will always be special. I genuinely wasn’t expecting Luffy to not be able to save Sanji from the avalanche, Sanji’s sacrifice, Luffy’s determination to climb, and the rabbit scene was the first scene of One Piece I ever saw, many years before I started watching. It’s not that unusual in the realm of Shonen, but there was just something special about it and I never forgot

Drum Island is an amazing arc and the craziest thing about One Piece is the arcs only continue to get better and better. If you're already heaping so much praise upon the anime on arc 10/32 (so far) then you're going to be absolutely blown away by what's to come and that is why I hope those who can afford Patreon can keep this series going until it's nothing less than your favourite anime of all time.
Oh yeah. In my book Choppers backstory is the most tragic one yet even beating Namis. The next two episodes will rip your heart in half.
Fun fact: them fixing the door is anime exclusive. It was pointed out as a continuity error by a fan to Oda who then responded by creating a new character who travels from island to island fixing things.

funny thing, choppers voice actor is the same as sanji's kid va.
You talking about scenery shots and house and people being unique made me remember: oda doesnt scan flashbacks in the manga. He completly redraws everything, just changes his shaders to denote a flashback. He says people pay for 18 pages of fresh content, so he’d feel bad if he didnt redraw it all. Oda is the GOAT, and it shows how much he loves this world and these people.
Edit: Dalton is my man. Of the many, many, MANY side charecters that deserve more screen time or their own show, Dalton is top of my list.

Well, it was originally supposed to be just one gag character, but Oda-sensei expanded upon it and made up a whole family with a backstory and everything. Because he's great like that ❤

This arc has some of my favorite Luffy moments: him getting scolded by Vivi and starting to become a better captain, his climbing of the drum rock to save his friends (the anime made it so much better by making the climb so much more painful),Chpper's entire backstory, and there are more to come

It'll be more than that I dare say, because EBS clocks in at 5h, (I've done the compilation already but not released just yet) and Arabasta is already over taken in length with another 27 episodes to go yet.
Fun fact: I probably won't ever release a grand and full version though because A) It'd require my PC to not crash for probably over 72h of constant rendering but B) it'd also probably cause a LOT of Toei copyrights. Also uploading to YT for days too would be brutal and it's too much to consume for any human being. I like covering full Saga's at most I think : )
If I may, I'd like to sneak a potential fan win in for not just the buildings being unique, but the shapes of the buildings making sense in the climate. The higher pointing roofs keep snow from gathering on the buildings.
12:30 I think it's also worth pointing out that the quality of the repairs are very makeshift, Usopp can only get by with basic repairs especially with the limited resources out at sea.

because it starts having an impact in this arc, I'd like to add that Oda has said that he never uses real illnesses in One Piece, as to him it would risk potentially harming the enjoyment of someone with that illness.
besides that one time with scurvy. but I think that one gets a pass because it's such a pirate related disease

I can’t wait to see next weeks episode, It has one of the best speech’s in one piece, Definitely top 3 in my opinion.
It's always stuck with me how Luffy carried Nami and Sanji up that cliff, one of possibly the MOST harrowing things he's ever had to do in his life, and he didn't second guess it for a second, or EVER mention it. Other aanimes might have a character bring it up as leverage, the way Nami did with Zoro and the money for his swords, but to Luffy that's just what he had to do to save his friends, and their survival is as important to him as it is themselves.

Seems we've finally made it to Tony Tony Chopper, and from the looks of things, this will be Anime Wins' newest favorite character yet.
07:20 Thanks for this win! Yes, Sanji and Luffy casually conversing is a rare sight. But you should know that we don't actually see all waking moments of the StrawHats. There are more interactions between them while on this journey, but are omitted since they don't serve any narrative purposes. Oda-sensei gives us just enough crew interactions to know their individual relationships with eachother and get the picture of how they usually spend their time on board.
Also, without spoiling anything, what Sanji and Luffy are talking about *is* important. It will help piece together the true nature of a person that was only mentioned in this arc but that we will eventually meet and will play a major role in the overall plot of the series.
Another amazing part, but the sadness is getting scarier and scarier😢😢😢
Definitely can’t wait to see how they will do chopper for season 2 of the live action series
38:40 The anime made Dr Hilluluk a much better person, in the anine he's just a well intentioned guak of a doctor, but in the manga he just robbed and set fire to a house before barging into the sick guys house, and he also even shoots the guys wife with a tranquiliser gun
I believe Anime Wins understands how I feel when I say One Piece is not only the greatest Anime of all time but the best story of all time in general. It has everything, comedy, adventure, heartfelt moments and anything else enjoyable you can think of! One Piece is seriously the best series of all time! And I think this Drum Kingdom section while short is maybe the 6th best arc overall in my opinion although deciding which arcs are my favorite is always difficult because they keep building off the previous arcs so well and that's the hard part it's like picking a single favorite episode, one has this amazing fight scene, another has great comedy, another has great landscapes or story it's so hard to choose but I would say best episode is 192 so I'm looking forward to when Anime Wins reaches that milestone!

It's sad to say, but as someone who can't spare the change to support your patreon, I can only hope that if the worst happens and you have to shelve this series, that you continue One Piece on your own time. As much fun as it it has been to watch you point out all the neat things about it to this old fan using your vids as a vicarious rewatch, I understand that youtubing is a time-consuming process and we all gotta eat
Patreon is pretty consistent, which is awesome BUT the problem I've been facing is the lowering revenue requiring additional Patreon support. It used to be 30% Patreon 70% YT, now it's vice versa. But with lowering revenue I really need to bump that to 80/20, 90/10 as soon as possible. Just hope I can increase support alongside the revenue lowering, (timewise) in order to continue to pay bills and support my family basically. But so far, it's not going badly I'll say that.

I know that you really haven't mentioned the Trails series in a while, but I want to mention this while I still remember. Did you know there's a Trails anime? It takes place during the Northern War (aka events that take place in between Trails of Cold Steel 2 and 3)
Sadly it wasn't very well liked. But yes I'm still playing it, in fact I finished Cold Steel 4 last week. Next up us Revery and then the final 2 games, (for now) and then I've played every single one through: D
@@AnimeWins Oh, it wasn't well liked? That's sad. It's actually what got me into the trails series. I found the anime, watched the first episode, found out that there were several games that preceded it, then promptly went to see if I would enjoy them. Now I have almost every game bought :)

I'm very curious how you're going to handle later arcs that are much longer, like some that are hundreds of episodes. I hope that, if we do get there, it doesn't become overwhelming. Maybe a sort of movie format splitting the long arcs into sections? Have you considered any plans for this so far?
How do you mean? Because I only cover 6 episodes per video, so to my mind it doesn't really matter if it's 3 parts to cover an arc or 30. Should never become overwhelming because I'm uploading weekly, so it's the same amount of work regardless. I do also take breaks from the main series in the form of the movies when they're voted in too. Just covered Choppers Island yesterday actually.
@AnimeWins Not to spoil anything, but you've probably heard that there are certain parts that have a problem with repetition and/or pacing, but I guess that's a bridge to cross when we get there. Also, just want to say I've been loving these videos, and I hope you continue to enjoy making them!
