Love all the support for this series! Like I said at the start I'm really hoping to increase Patreon to a point where YT demonetization or copyright issues no longer affect the channel. Hopefully we can make it happen and protect the channel into the future.
You're the Best man! Keep up the good work! One piece saturdays are BEST SATURADAYS ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The Hiriluk death scene and the Sakura bloom scene are still among the most heart wrenching for me in the entire series.
Kureiha just casually drops the true name of Gold Roger and talking about the Will of D. and we still don't know the full details decades later, Oda really seeded things early for some things.
Chopper's backstory is always so loved by everyone, and it's such a pleasure watching someone new learn about this traumatized boy
jesus man Chopper coming back with the mushroom and Hiriluks death STILL hit me so hard to this day. Oda really has been cooking so hard for 26 YEARS 😭
One thing I appreciate about your anime wins, is that you slow down the animation when talking about the animation. A lot of people alongside myself took it for granted, but seeing each hand drawn shot is incredible.
The thing I love most about Usopp is that his dream to be a brave warrior is so close throughout the series. Bravery isn't a lack of fear, it's action in spite of being afraid. With just how cowardly he is yet still accomplishes so much and steps up when it really counts, he already is a brave warrior of the sea, but his dream isn't achieved until he is able to acknowledge that himself.
I suspect that will happen for him in Elbaf, being acknowledged as a brave warrior by the giants he was so inspired by.
I feel like there is one other who he wants the approval from too. Someone else in his family he sees as a brave warrior of the sea.
In a song about what drives them towards their dreams performed by Zoro, Usopp and Sanji, Zoro references his promise to Kuina, Sanji references Zeff, Usopp outright mentions Yasopp.
We finaly meet the man, the mith, the legend Bon-chan!
There are 3 major themes in one piece. Inherited will, pursuit of freedom, and one less talked about but undeniably there. The effect of unconditional love. And hirulook is a great example of all three
Gotta say, Crocolads voice is great. Chopper is adorable. Hiriluck will never be anything short of a masterclass of how to kill someone and make it matter. Dalton is a down to earth proper leader. And, Ace! I think you’ll like him. Just wait, the best is yet to come
I once saw a post that said ‘what is a ‘nothing’ scene in One Piece that you can’t forget?’ And the Flight from Drum Island was one of the ones for me. Chopper giving this heartfelt goodbye to his mentor while absolute chaos happens on the sled behind him. Luffy flapping like flag, Usopp grabbing him, Zoro grabbing Usopp, Sanji’s unconscious body flopping off the side, and him being so tall that both girls have to pin him to the side to stop him rolling off…all set to this beautiful music. There was so much detail for 5 seconds of footage and it was so beautiful, I had to pause the episode because I was laughing too much to read the subtitles
Chopper is genuinely one of the best characters in anime. His backstory and eventually his future are all unbelievably awesome!
Can't wait to see the series when we're in the Wano Arc! 😆
And now we have reached the other batch of all time favorite moments Drum Island has. Hilluluk's death speech being quite possibly one of the best in all of anime, and Chopper's departure as the pink snow falls just being absolutely beautiful
Can't wait for the next arc! Arlong Park was definitely where the series felt like it grew into its own but Alabasta is in my opinion the arc where Oda perfected the One Piece formula he would use for many arcs to come.
I’ve been dreading and anticipating this video. This part illustrates why this series has been running for the last couple of decades. Once again, thanks for sharing this wonderful reaction series with up.
Chopper's backstory really is top 5 in one piece and Drum island is a top 5 arc.
Watching this video with my chopper plushie next to me
This wasn't the last time we'll be seeing Wapol.
Actually, most characters we meet keep having their own stories after the crew leaves them to continue the journey. These stories are told in the manga through a series of cover stories. The problem with the anime is that after doing Baggy's and Koby's they stopped. But!
They belatedly gave us Wapol's cover story 🎉 Normally, it would be shown around an arc later, but because they haven't decided upon it until way down the line, you have to wait until you reach the 800s 😅
Thanks again for the video 🙏 I always enjoy your work 😁
I absolutely forgot that today is Saturday :D Nice now I have something to watch (y)
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@AnimeWinsyou're amazing 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
That quote from Dr. Hiriluk right before his death will forever be one of my favorite quotes, not only in One Piece, but media in general 😍😭
Annnd... Yep. There it is. I just cried like a baby during Chopper's backstory and when he left Drum Island as he sees the cherry blossoms bloom; all while Kureha calls him her son. And this is, like, what? Nearly the tenth time this has happened to me now? This arc will never stop hurting me in the best way possible.
Choppers backstory will always bring me to tears😢😢😢😢😭😭😭😭😭😭
I've finally watched 115 episodes of One piece, so I can start watching this Everything GREAT About series
The best backstory in my opinion. sanji and zoro is good but I will never stop crying at choppers.
7:49 "your mushroom can't kill me", because he knows his ideas will live on! That's the most deserved max wins ever
It’s always great to see new people react to everyone’s sad backstories, also Ace! A lot of comments have said this already, but you’ll definitely like him!
Definitely did!
Fun fact next time we see a shot of former Drum Kingdom they changed the name to Sakura Blossom Kingdom since that pink snow has really energized the hearts of the people of that country! Everything about that arc was special even though it was only about 10 episodes and many other arcs are 50 or even 100 episodes long it can stand right next to them in quailty and my love for these episodes! One Piece is truly the best show of all time thanks for highlighting its many great points for everyone!!!
ave maria playing in the background still gets me
The first one piece moment to ever make me truly cry
And a lesson I still carry years later
26:43 That is just a perfect meme face. Despite seeing it before, it still got me laughing quite a bit.
God I love this series (both One Piece, and you covering it)
Hiriluk’s death was tragic and amazing, and the music was beautiful…but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t laugh when I realised they were playing Ave Maria
“When does a man die, When a bullet from a gun pierces his heart? When a man is attacked by an Incurable disease? Or when a poison mushroom threatens his life? No, a man dies, when he is forgotten”
Absolutely one of my favorite speeches in one piece, loved how the dub version of it goes
40:48 At this sequence when They all wondered why Chooper joined the crew.
Sanji says emergency food, And that has been referenced in
Genshin impact about the little girl following mc around. Asking why she is there, the options were We’re friends or Emergency food
One piece saturdays are best saturdays🎉🎉🎉❤❤
I had a feeling Chopper's arc would be your favourite to date, with how animal-loving you are. And boy episode 91 is full of foreshadowings. New characters left and right, lore drops and worldbuilding, right before we enter what most people consider to be the best saga in all of One Piece to date, Arabasta
I'm not crying, you're crying.
1:48 A group of reindeer is called a herd
How dare you make me shed manly tears like this 😭😭😭
Haha thanks so much mate xD
Doctorina is just a tsundere, she couldn't have handled a straight goodbuy so she acted as she did.
Also One Piece backstories breaking more people than Deku fingers.
About changes of clothing, just watch Cardcaptor Sakura.Good nostalgic one to win.
Wooo off to Alabasta!! I'm very happy you enjoyed the Chopper arc, but it's almost impossible not to bc it's just that nicely done :') Also get ready for insane world-building-lore to pop up at the most random points, most often without noticing that it's going to be important later, Oda is a master at setting things up that you cannot understand until like 100 episodes later when you suddenly go "WAIT THAT WAS IMPORTANT??????????" Hope you continue enjoying One Piece as much as you have, and thanks for a great video once again!! :DD
Truly a great arc
Just want to toss out here to get you excited for the future, but there's a better than even chance that for the next live action episodes Dr Kuruha might be played by the actress Jamie Lee Curtis. She's a huge One Piece fan and from what is being said really wants the role. Plus it's a great reason to drop a comment.
And YES! Alabasta time!
So so so so happy that this series is continuing on. Love your videos
35:43 I think you forgot this is exactly how she treated Dr Hiriluk, she's not very good with emotions.
Also, maybe it doesn't show up in the place you're watching, but in ep 90 Chopper's wanted poster shows up in the scene transition :)
18:39 wasn't the first time. We first got to know his full name when Hiruluk named him.
If you didn't cry during Drum Island then you have no liquid in your body
One price backstories got me crying in the shower
I love One Price 🥰🥰🥰
Can't wait for next weeks episodes :)
New One Piece video, let's go!!!
Ikue Otani is pikachu from Pokemon and she’s really good
So a little detail they added was the split on choppers antler as it was broken off in the flashback
DO NOT FALL IN LOVE WITH THAT ACE GUY DO NOT !!!!!!!!!!!!
Ace will leave a hole in your heart
What a day for rain.😭
AMAZING video! You're the Best! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I hit a real rough time for awhile and had to take away my patreon but I am in a better-ish finical situation so I re patreond (or is it patreoned?) Regardless of terminology, I enjoy your videos and hope things keep go in a good direction.
Welcome back!
13:47 Doggo-thingie? If anything, it a hippo
Fun fact, Oda didn’t even plan on using the mountain as a Cherry Blossom tree until the very end. He really is just a master at improvisation!
"Have a safe trip...my stupid son"
Please do remember win #2270 if or when you cover the foxy arc. Also, love your stuffz, keep up the good work.
Wake up babe it’s one piece Saturday
Dr. Kureha did what she did because she just can't say good-bye. Chopper is leaving on his big adventure, she knows it, and just didn't want to say good-bye. She's also not one for tearful good-byes, since she'd be crying as she said it.
Also, take note that Luffy has never said good-bye to anyone he's met. He doesn't say it because he wants to see them again.
Usopp is never a coward. He's just fearful. A coward would abandon people in need to save their own skin. Something he has never done. The worst he's done is run off to get to a safer vantage to snipe from.
Humorously, the same holds true for Shaggy and Scooby-Doo. They might run in a screaming panic THROUGH the supposed haunted house, but they never actually bail out the front door and leave their friends behind.
Odas backstories never hold their punches
Don't know if anyone's pointed it out to you yet or not, but you'll notice that Nami changes her clothes the most often because Oda confirmed that her and Sanji shower daily while Usopp and Chopper shower every 3 days, and Luffy and Zoro shower once a week.
37:35 it’s more of the pain some parents feel when their son grows up and they have to see them leave the nest to create their own life, at least that’s how I viewed that scene, doctorine also saw chopper as a son she was basically his mom while hiriluk was the father
BON CHAN!!!!!!
Imagine Hiriluk, blowing up in an R rated one piece remake 💀
Chopper's backstory makes me ugly-sob EVERY DAMN TIME. TToTT
8:24 you have no fucking idea what he can do when he loses his mind just wait for enies lobby
The one piece is Real!
So this is never said but Chopper is 15 years old during his introductory arc
Fun fact about Chopper. Originally Oda designed him to be a little bit weird. A so odd it's cute kind of thing. But after hearing Ikue Otani's performance in the anime, he felt he couldn't do it justice if he didn't draw Chopper as cute as he could.
just wondering, but will you be skipping the filler episodes within the Alabasta arc? I know that there's quite a few, definitely enough for a part of its own if you covered them.
$1 and over will soon vote on that very question
The devil fruit that chopper ate actually looks like a mushroom, so its a fan theory that it is the heal all mushroom that they were talking about
Are you read this story before (Devils' Line)💝

WAIT A MINUTE
So if you would have to rate them @AnimeWins , which Backstory was more heartbreaking so far? :,3
Nami and Chopper are always fighting for the top spots here. They're backstory is so heartbreaking for me TvT
I think the saddest backstory just dropped in the manga, but I'd say miss all Sunday>chopper>Nami
Nami for me by a slim margin
Oda's world building is insane. I'll never get over all the foreshadowing and call backs that happen throughout the series.
Also, please never stop gushing over how adorable Chopper is. His purity and innocence are a great addition, not only to the crew, but to the series as a whole.
