Feels like a big milestone hitting part 20 for some reason, really glad to have you all with me on this incredible journey! Sorry for the mistake at 01:17, I haven't a CLUE how it slipped past me in editing as I proof every video to ensure there's no mistakes. It's now been fixed for the eventual Arabasta compilation video, apologies again.

Miss All Sunday laughing at Crocodile is so funny, she has NO loyalty to him and hides it so bad at times lol.
Honestly, I don't think she was even trying to hide it. They both knew from the start she wasn't loyal to him, they just were useful for each other.

One piece Saturdays are amazing
the ending of the fighting is so good in this arc. from finding the bomb, to stoping the fuse, to pell doing his thing, to luffy punching crocodile so much he gets expelled from the underground and exposed to everyone... and the rain is what gives pause so vivi's voice can reach everyone.

Robin's devil fruit power is underrated. If nothing else, her range is such that if she can see you, your in range.
And because she can sprout eyes wherever she wants, her range is basically everywhere

The music from when Luffy beats crocodile is new world symphony. It's actually a classical piece.
If I had a nickel for every time an awesome anime fight was scored to "From the New World" Symphony I would have two. Which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice.
Just so you know, Nico Robin's given name is Robin, family name is Nico.
Good thing I've been calling her Robin since then, much more natural.

I’ve been waiting for these episodes. The twists, the turns, the drama, the humor. This is where the series starts to take off, and watching your reaction to this arc was a treat. Here’s hoping this reaction series keeps going, because one piece only gets better from here.
One Piece episode 126 is one of those episodes that I am certain is on 99 percent of fans top 10 episode lists. Honestly with the fantastic fight scene, perfect music choice, and all the little details I think it even transcends One Piece itself and should be an episode beloved by all anime fans in general!

If I'm not mistaking it was said that Vivi crying for the battle to stop at the top of the tower was the first time Oda cried writing One Piece
If i recall he was asked what scene made him cry most while drawing. And he said this scene is amongst them.

what makes oda good is moving other people
Smoker embodies the concept Coby had of the marines.
And here we are, a very cathartic conclusion to all the fighting. Even with the key to his weakness Luffy still has to grit hard to beat him, showing the caliber of villain Crocodile was physically, while showing it mentally with the bomb having a timer as well - sickly planting it in the clock tower as well. But the end is magnificent, Luffy burst through the bedrock and brought Crocodile - and his shadow organization - into the light, and with it the rain returns to Alabasta.
Excellent character work from everyone else too; Vivi, the Crew, Tashigi, it all just came together.
What I loved was how Crocodile was portrayed as a mediocre combatant with an overpowered power. He could barely land any real hits against the child/rookie Luffy (who's fighting style is the very definition of just flailing around wildly), and the only reason he stayed mostly ahead until the end was because he spammed his cheesiest powers relentlessly and was old enough to take a few hits.

Episode 126 is one of my favourite ones! The music, the animation, the voice acting! (And yes, the music a classic piece: Dvořák: Symphony No. 9 "From the New World")
I’ve always loved the scene with smoker and the rain dance powder ship thing because it let Oda have his cake and eat it too. It’s absolutely illogical for the rain to just start up suddenly so now you have a logical reason for it Smoker did it with the dance powder. But at the same time Smoker told Hina he had nothing to do with it and it’s hard to tell if he’s lying or not. So now you have two possible explanations. Smoker isn’t lying and it’s a beautiful artistic miracle all symbolic and what not or Smoker is lying and there is a logical reason. And either interpretation can be right depending on what you want as a fan.
Just so you know for the future, calling Robin "Nico" is equivalent to calling Luffy "Monkey".

Croco lad was voiced amazingly! I dont really watch one piece i mostly read it. So watching your coverage has given me alot of voices to add to charecters.
Seriously though, Alabasta is such a milestone. Whats crazy, the time line. The crew hasnt been together for long. Basically, 2 months of in world time. Its insane!
Also, i’ll vote One Piece forever in the poll. While i’ll never recommend one pace, you may want to read some sections in order to move along. There is some . . . internal padding that gets done when the show runners dont know where Oda is going next. Like in DBZ when Toriyama got writers block and had to put out chapters during the Freeza fight.
You may just do some 2x speed for some of the later arcs or at least for 5 ish minutes of the start of episodes.

Loved the video, Alabasta is one of my favourite OP arcs/sagas, maybe top 5? Craziest thing is, the best moment of this arc hasn't even come yet. Can't wait for you to see it!

OH YES! The time for Luffy to beat his first BIG villain has arrived! I honestly believe that if you ask every One Piece fan their top 3 villains in the story, around 90% will have Crocodile in one of those spots. He is just THAT compelling. The ending of his fight with Luffy always gives me the chills no matter how many times I watch it, with that classical music playing?!? MAN **CHEFS KISS**

One thing you totally missed was the thematic way luffy beat crocodile. Punching him up, luffy forced crocodile into the light and out of the shadows.
Crocodile is my favorite character and a amazing villain

The music at the end is not classical "sounding" music, it IS classical music. It's the New World Symphony by Antonin Dvorak, it came out in 1893. It wasn't made for the anime.
Tbf to me all classical music sounds classical, by it's nature classical music is sounding classical because it is xD But I get your point haha

Win 3782, yes, the choice of music is great, for some reason nobody recognises it. It's not operatic, it's symphonic. Antonin Dvorak, Symphony no.9 'From the New World' 3rd Movement.
It's only one of the greatest pieces of music ever.
Not many people hear it because it's classical music and that's a massive shame, I know a fair bit myself but compared to others I'm a massive novice, but I do enjoy it now and then I must admit

It is interesting and weird to see that Robin can use her power without needing to cross her arms. I suppose it might just be for focus but 99.9% of the time, she crosses her arms for her powers.

While somehow Sanji has my #1 spot within the OP characters (don't ask idk how he got up there), Robin is a close second because she's absolutely wonderful :') So yes, I really hope you'll get to love her as well, because she absolutely deserves it!! Can we talk about how in win 3672 zoro got lost and was out of the city?
Arc ends in like 2 or 3 episodes yes... but still amazing how things land with how your dividing up episodes.
All I can say is I would adore you covering every episode including all filler... but yeah to many disappoint by skipping it.
Tons of extra stuff coming up was voted in, only Goat Island I believe is skipped in the following 50+ episodes so hope that makes you happy : )
@@AnimeWins honestly strange to chop those but keep the dude in the treasure box from the early episodes... roughly same quality of story.
That being said I will give a synopsis of sorts so you know what you missed at least.
The crew come across an isolated island and outside of some goats meet a surly old man with an abacuss.
He was shunned for his dream to be a pirate so he could collect his own taxes.
He dumped his life savings into the venture only to crash land on this island and have to build his own ship from scratch.
Luffy considers him a funny old man and so they help this one time buaracrat office worker now a Senior citizen to finish his boat.
Along the way some random bad guys show up to take his treasure and the Goats along with Zenny and the crew fight them off.
In the end he sets sail as a crew of Old man Zenny and like 20 goats to be "pirates" in the open sea.
All of that Synopsis is from memory; all I had to do to remember it was see Zennys name in the Wiki page.
Personally its been about 15 to 20 years since the last time I did a watch through of One Piece personally; yet many filler arcs pre episode 500 I remember this well or better. That is why I hate people just deciding to skip all completely; there are certain ones that I never got into or were pointless recap but most I saw at least enough to know if that particular story was one I liked or not.
In the case of old man Zenny; I see a connection between that Filler arc and some side characters in the main story. Also the idea of an older dude becoming a pirate speaks to how garbage the common persons life is. I mean we see how horrifying the Grand line is... how the hell is that your retirement plan from working for the IRS if your life was not so repressed that freedom was worth more than a fair chance of life.
I mean my life is nothing great but I would still choose it over the insane dangers of becoming a pirate as the options in one piece.
It does sound like you will at least cover the Rainbow Mist arc and the other arc I cannot name without spoiling what its about.
Both give more screen time to the crew and further some of their dev as characters.
Rainbow Mist is my fave arc for the filler arcs not called G8. G8 is the best filler arc of any series I ever saw let alone One Piece.
But G8 is after the next main arc.
Rainbow Mist showcases what I think of One Pieces (the treasure in the show) true identity. I get that most disagree with me. But until we see the truth of it in the manga I keep my belief that Oda gave the script writers for the arc a hint of the truth to spin into the filler.

I may not have as many mouths to feed nor do I have a car or truck sapping funds.
But I have never had a single job that actually lived up to the clame they all make of "minimum wage".
Literally keep my house through faith in the concept that things always work out in the end.
Cannot get gov support "because I make to much" or because "I am handy capable not handy capped"...
Long story short Monthly is just not doable but a one time donation I might be able to pull in July or August when inheritance comes in.

I've been waiting for this one. The final fight between Luffy and Crocodile has remained one of, if not my favorite fight in One Piece period. I'm currently at Episode 1073, which the dub runs up to (personally a dub watcher), and just, it's so damn good. New World Symphony is such a damn good fit for that fight.
There's a comment on a video of the dub fight by the user Spider-fighterdenoir6266 and it just sums up this fight so perfectly, "-He was beaten by a rubberman using sheer willpower, determination, creativity, brute strength, and blood. Even without this music, this moment would not have been my most favorite moment in one piece." And I wholeheartedly agree.
