This is the best Tutorial. In the beginning you get a short basic tutorial of animating text and using spline. Then about the follower modifier and even that was very easy to understand.
    Amazing work.
By the way, one thing that I've been looking for is word by word text follower animation. That's something that I want to use for my talking head videos. You where the words pop up one by one. If you could help me with that, it would be highly appreciated.
Thank you for making editing easy on resolve.

Casey, Great tutorial as always! How about a video on character level styling? When I have used it, seems to be a little glitchy??

This is amazing. What I struggle with though, is why is it so hard to just get text to fade in and fade out using fusion? I feel like every time I got that figured out, it doesn't work again.

Actually you can add music in the edit, or fairlight page, not the fusion page.

Very good.....But what i've been trying to do and can't seem to find a way of doing it no matter how much i search the is:
I have my text it animates on to the screen then settles all well and good, the words and letters are all different colours as i made it in fusion with text plus and then a character level styling modifier, so all well just as i wanted it to be. After if settles i want the a couple of the letters to fall down or fall over, i cant seem to get this to happen as in character styling there are no keyframes to to do this.
Please tell me its possible and how to do it......Maybe make a good fusion video
    thank you

    Thanks for this great tutorial!
I've given it a shot and it looks like the Shading section is not following the "Follower" tool... Even when connecting the "Outline Size" or "Shadow" to the "Character Size", they do not work along with the timing 😒
Is there any way to work around this ?

Hello Casey. I've been following you for a while and your videos substantially help me edit my personal projects. However, the Ae guys keep showing me the weaknesses of Davinci Resolve when it comes to building 3D stages like in games and News presentations, 3 Gold Text animations with fancy lighting and sparkle effects, etc. Can you teach us with a tutorial or advise us on which tools and fusion techniques we can use to shut their mouth? Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Be blessed!

Question... first thank you for your tutorials! I do an old school text scroll over my podcast videos. I recently switched from Vegas Pro to Resolve and I'm trying to replicate the function.
As a default in Vegas, the scroll loops autmatically so all I have to do is lengthen the text across the timeline depending on te length of the podcast. Now I can recreate the scroll effect in Fusion, not an issue, but how do I have it looped automatically? I don't want to have to copy and paste the text box continuiously until the end of the video timeline.

Hey, don't want to come across as a smarta**, but I guess what's REALLY important to mention is the possibility of adding multiple modifiers (would have just saved me a solid hour had I known this):
    ~~ PROBLEM ~~
I wanted to add a Fusion Title effect but style the letters INDIVIDUALLY.
Now, this can NORMALLY be easily achieved by right clicking into the text field in the Inspector (as shown by Casey in the video) and then click on "Character Level Styling".
HOWEVER, once you set a Modifier and then right-click AGAIN, all the other options are suddenly greyed out on the "top level".
    ~~ SOLUTION ~~
Click the the Modifier, from THERE you can right-click in the text field AGAIN and it will let you choose other modifiers (cascading design principle).
    Unbelievable, yet so obvious 😅

Why there is no per word modifier, many possibilities will open

    • @stehume
      @stehume 7 месяцев назад

Do you mean per word modifier to change each word or letter?, if so there is its called character level styling, you can make each letter have its total own colour sizr and so on, what i cant find how to do is have each letter animate on its own as there are no keyframes in character modifier , maybe you have learned how to do this ?
