I do this with my son, he loves pokemon and super smash bros, kirby mostly... but anything he enjoys, paw patrol or anything, I do my best to understand them all so I can interact and talk, share some interests too. It helps that I am a gamer anyway, so I guess my interest in smash bros and the old pokemon gens definitely help

The most wholesome part of the video is that your mum took enough interest in your hobbies when you were younger to still remember the Gengars you used to draw. I mean, I've seen the drawing videos - so they could've been any other Pokemon, but it's still sweet that she remembers. Also, if MomZD was a trainer, I think she'd be a Poke Fan because of her love of cute Pokemon. She'd just have a surprise Lucario on her team.

damn i never realised that either. Theres so many cool things in the designs that most people will never notice but when you do it really ties them all together and you can see exactly what they were going for. Its not just a bird archer, its deeper than that.

This really shows how important presentation of a character design is to someone with no prior understanding, she was mostly able to tell their personalities and concepts just through the one drawing, and I think thats a testament to their well thought out designs
I like that first thoughts she has, because she's very good at guessing what the pokemon's personality is like and it makes me realize that the designers of the pokemon did really good at capturing what they wanted to show in each creature

I honestly like how Pikachu has just become this pop culture icon that everyone knows. When I was on kind of an obscure farmer's market in the middle of nowhere during harvest, one stand was selling nothing but self-drawn mugs. Most of the designs were pretty generic, normal patterns you'd expect from a granny, but a few of them were beautiful renditions of Pikachu. It was the only Pokemon she knew, but she loved it.

The most wholesome part of the video is that your mum took enough interest in your hobbies when you were younger to still remember the Gengars you used to draw. I mean, I've seen the drawing videos - so they could've been any other Pokemon, but it's still sweet that she remembers.

This really shows how important presentation of a character design is to someone with no prior understanding, she was mostly able to tell their personalities and concepts just through the one drawing, and I think thats a testament to their well thought out designs
I like that first thoughts she has, because she's very good at guessing what the pokemon's personality is like
and it makes me realize that the designers of the pokemon did really good at capturing what they wanted to show in each creature

I honestly like how Pikachu has just become this pop culture icon that everyone knows.
When I was on kind of an obscure farmer's market in the middle of nowhere during harvest, one stand was selling nothing but self-drawn mugs. Most of the designs were pretty generic, normal patterns you'd expect from a granny, but a few of them were beautiful renditions of Pikachu. It was the only Pokemon she knew, but she loved it.
