  • Snowshoe Rabbit Feet may be the finest all-around dry-fly material there is. Naturally buoyant and buggy, it is both post and hackle (and, chopped up, dubbing as well!). It is also cheap. Not cheap in an extruded plastic sense, but with each foot tying over two dozen flies, and being an excellent substitute for most CDC and hackle applications, it is a one-stop material for tying inexpensive, durable and buoyant dry flies in sizes 10-20. Not bad! This video explains how we most often use it in the creation of a BWO emerger, while also demonstrating an upright wing and a split wing. One material…three different adult stages of mayfly. We use this material in our hendricksons, sulphurs, BWOs, Isonychia, a variety of caddis, and even as emerging wings on brown drakes. Some crazies even save the very longest pieces for use on hex.
