- Snowshoe is an excellent material which in my opinion gives it's full potential on pocket waters, fast flows, white water, near dark situations....
Its not as efficient on chalk streams and calm waters where i will give the edge to CDC.
In this video i am talking how to use it and get the most out of it.
stay safe, tight lines
Vladimir
I am glad I found your channel. As an experienced tyer who loves to learn new things; there are only a handful of guys that can hold my attention. Guys like Galloup, Craven, McPhail, and I consider you in that great group. Keep up the great work Vladimir!
Thank you so much for putting me among those great tiers. Thats a huge honour. Galloup is probably one of my favourite tiers out there. I like his approach and i cant but watch his ending 'hope this helps you out'. Others as well, just he does fishing tips too and i love it.
I have to ask, not sure i understood well. They know what i do? (all the great tiers you mentioned)
If so, thats huge. Because they all helped me learn and develop. And they still do. 🙏🙏
Nice fly Vladimir, you are like me, frugal, the use of every scrap. It very rare when I waste something.
Thanks :) some materials are just too precious to waste :)
Excellent! Love your teaching mode. Very helpful when learning techniques. Thank you for the second lesson dude.
Thank you. I am glad you like it. I am thinking to make one more.., 😀
That will be great. Look forward to it dude.
Thank you for your tying channel. Your attention to detail has been very helpful. Have you ever used divided snowshoe hair for spinner wings?
Thank you so much for your kind words. Glad my videos are helping.
I used snowshoe a lot. I did use it as spinners but not as spent spinners. Only as still alive stage of insects with upright wings.
Thank you for your great lessons! Just got some rabbit's feet and will try this in the weekend.
Thanks for watching the video and for your kind words. Enjoy your tying. 😃😃😃
Thanks you. Very useful stuff!
Thank you for watching it 🙏🙏
Very nice fly. What do you use as floatant for your snowshoe hair flies?
Thanks. Usually i used cdc oil.... But only because it was only floatant i had.... But anything would work... Its more important not to use too much material or to put too much floatant....
@@Oholisfliesandfishing thank you.
@@73sck you are welcome 🙏
Your new setup is working beautifully. Another innovative flayed god looking too I do admire some grace in a fly designate be honest. :-)
thanks a lot. What do you mean grace? these flies i see as rough..maybe because i use them in rough waters and fish cant destroy them for a long time :)
@@Oholisfliesandfishing mean that they have nice proportions and although rough textures. they look good to me. :-)
@@TERRYBIGGENDEN thanks mate. I think I like them cause they're rough 😀😉
I agree - they're not mayflies for a calm pool, they're for fast water and fish that need to strike quickly, but the profile and weight and durability are perfect for that kind of water
these are great looking flies, and I could see some interesting variations just with different threads for ribbing and heads, or an Antron/snowshoe blend.
@@williamparadis3058 that blending of snowshoe and antron sounds interesting... Will give it a try... 👍👍👍
