One of the actors on Unforgettable was talking in an interview about her. He said that he had met her years before he was in anything you'd have heard of. When he met her recently, he told her, "Oh, hey, I met you a few years ago," and she rattled off the date of the meeting and told him what he'd been wearing that day.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA....I can honestly say I was one of those guys, met her and I actually said, I wont bring up the walking on the moon thing. She laughed..A very genuine person... and yeah.. I was much younger and a little bit of a jerk
You're right. We don't know if she's making everything up, or if it's really true. Although, she can remember days, and dates perfectly. As well as remembering major events that occurred on those days/dates. That is already astonishing memory, and so I'm already liable to believe in her other claims.
Yeah, but that's the difference from you, and her. That you'd just be rambling about something you made up, where as she is actually remembering everything.
My point is how do people know what she said was what she was actually doing? She could make everything up and who would know (or care)? After all, we are taking her at her word. I don't buy into people who make this claim.
I wouldn't believe it either, but she's been quizzed by scientists. They don't know what she was doing maybe, but they can ask her about any historical event and she knows the date and day of week.
It's not that hard to do. Just remember a date that means something to you and go from there. For example: June 18, 1982 was a Friday. My last day of school (high school) was June 4, 1982 (a Friday). The 4th was a Friday as was the 11th, so the 18th was, too. December 25, 1980 was a Thursday. John Lennon was killed on December 8, 1980 (a Monday), so the 15th and 22nd were also Mondays. 3 days later would be a Thursday.
I sincerely thank you for that particular detail, Marilu.

Costas is a great boardcaster, didnt mind asking the tough questions.
You're forgetting that she isn't just remembering dates that are important to her. She's remembering dates that she is asked about as well.
I don't really like teen giggly Bob. But the entire Marilu interview is/was CLASSIC. Love her.
Found my way here from Gilbert Gottfried’s podcast. His episodes with Costas are hilarious!
Any more epis of Later?
The Bill Simmons pod with Bob brought me here

This cracks me up because years later she wrote all about this in her autobiography.
yet another giant leap for mankind...
My guess is that the guy remembers that date a hell of a lot better than her.
I doubt it, unless he lost his virginity that night as well. Nobody remembers the first time.
On which date did this happen?
She said August 8, 1985.
Even still, I could ramble on what I was doing and who would know?
R.E. M. They ask her about what she was wearing for a particular show or event... and there is the photographic evidence verifying it

Its not quite savantism, like she can't remember every word of a book she's read, but she'll remember her own experiences.
That's not enough for you?
I'm fine, but again it isn't savantism.
August 5, 1985 was a Monday.
She could just make up what she was doing on any day......who would know?
She would remember if i porked her for sure! One can dream I guess!
Bill Simmons has the most annoying voice

John Lennon's death was announced by Howard Cosell on Monday Night Football
