I never noticed that gap in the grip. Mine had that grind sound as well. I don’t mind the Strike, but I still think the Amp is better. Great mod guide, now I know what that grind is. I myself am a fan of the Ultra blasters, but this has its ups and downs. Great video thanks!
Thanks! Oh crap, yours had the grinding too?!? That's not good. Hopefully you can get that fixed! Be careful getting the flywheels off. They're fragile. I have an ultra 2 where one of the flywheels actually split into two parts. The wheels are made in two parts, glued together, and they didn't glue that one well enough 😳
Eeey! Fellow ultra enjoyer! I can definitely see the appeal of a short dart mod to one of these. The triggerpull makes the stryfe look like garbage by comparison.
Omfg, i thought my one is broken, i searched this Video to Look how i can change the Engine but it was just the Barell that wasn't locked. Thank you!!!
I got one for my kid's birthday about the same time you got yours. I can definitely say that a flywheel/motor is messed up in there. It sounds like they are running at different RPMs and it caused some darts to fly out and spin sideways like a frisbee.
I'm sorry to hear that! For what it's worth, if you're looking for possible solutions, I did finally figure out why the flywheel was able to be pressed in too far. The rubber pad between the motor and the cage was miscut, so the motor wasn't quite in all the way.
Enjoyed the watch! I haven’t broken mine out off the box yet! I thought you were going to leave the barrel off once you rigged the switch. Did you have a last minute change of mind? I’m just curious to see how it looks without it.
I just felt like disabling it for the sake of disabling it. I prefer the look with the barrel on. Also meant I could test the circuit without the barrel installed
Hello, i need some help with my ultra strike! I dont want to attach the barrel, so it is not that heavy, long, and looks cool. But i figured, theres a little button that needs to be pressed for the ultra strike to work. This button is being constantly presset by the barrel. So, if there is no barrel, the ultra strike will not work. Im searching for something, that is not the barrel, that will keep the button pressed. Any ideas?
Bro You Are a Genius!! I took my whole Blaster apart after failing to get a operating one, for the third time. Did a bit extra and took off the jaming door, funny enough jaming probem sorted!
Love the essetics of the blaster, I think it would paint up well or like to be chopped up. I wonder if yours is a lemon or if they all have that issue of the flywheels rubbing on the cage
Solid review! Kinda unfortunate that yours has some imperfections, but it's nice to see you fixed stuff like the locks and that grinding wheel. If I'm getting another Ultra flywheeler, it's either gonna be this or the AMP. The AMP is cheaper and much more compact for what it does (and is an excuse to get a 6-round mag), but the Strike just looks amazing.
Thanks! both are definitely good blasters. I did get the strike shooting straighter now with a proper dart guide, and that has a smoother triggerpull than my amp, but they honestly balance out in my opinion. Love em both. Either are definitely worth a look.
Name wise? Yeah they really dropped the ball here. I had a whole rant about it planned but it got cut for time, since this video was already way longer than normal xD
Good review, honestly it is sad what Hasbro is doing. They need to stop cutting corners on the blasters especially when Dartzone is innovating every other day.
I love how indepth this video is, its extremely helpful. I've also never seen anyone go over the screw placement which I feel is a really nice touch.
Thanks! I hope it comes in handy to anyone who gets one of these!
@@JoltKing627 whats your fav nerf gun?
@@JoltKing627 also what store did u get the ultra strike?
@@felixrivera6126 target but they're available on amazon and other stores now too

Funny watching you toss the mags during the firing demo. Great video :)
congrats on the 1K if i haven’t said that yet
Ty!
Big Ultra fan myself too. Own and love about half a dozen of the blasters but really want to convert my Amp to short darts.
If I end up doing that mod I'll probably grab the Strike at some point. Though the Speed is looking really sweet.

Sweet glad you posted a video on this my friend.
Yeah honestly the Ultra Strike looks so cool without the barrel

The flywheel grinding thing, that happened to my Amp. I'm pretty sure it's just crappy Hasbro QC
Probably lol
Great video man. Good internals overview.
you had me at "halfway decent in some ways and meh in others"
LOL! Can't wait to see your thoughts on it xD

Is it a big problem if the flywheel is grinding? Should I fix it?
Hey! It’s me Gage, from the stream on TikTok last night
Hi there! Welcome to the channel!

Mine was probably a lemon, I hope 😅
I just got mine! So excited to play around with it! Thanks for the lock guide! 😁🔫
No problem! Hope you have fun!

I like the Ultra amp a lot, the ultra select fires darts at almost random directions…
I have one and can confirm it does that xD
@@JoltKing627 it’s bizarre. Enough to make me think ultra darts just aren’t very compatible with flywheels
@@maritimefoam I think the issue is the guide... I'll show you over on insta
@@JoltKing627 I’m impressed, gotta try that
My strike also grinded with the flywheels
Strike? Really? Is THAT the best they could do?
Name wise? Yeah they really dropped the ball here. I had a whole rant about it planned but it got cut for time, since this video was already way longer than normal xD
It does look like a Rapidstrike in a way too
It really does now that you mention it 🤔
i really hate the orginal ultra darts because it doesnt go straight.
i really like the looks
but like 15 bucks cheaper gets me the same thing basically
and has more mod potential
unless amp kits work in the strike
I am having an issue there is a piece that fell out and I don’t know what it is, on top of the one of the springs keeps popping out of place
Would this fit the amp short dart kit?
Ultra and their massive collection of screws jeepers
Maybe thats where most of the 50 dollars went lol
How do you get the fly wheel off? Just pull it?
Pry it off with a screwdriver
Good review, honestly it is sad what Hasbro is doing. They need to stop cutting corners on the blasters especially when Dartzone is innovating every other day.
How do you remove the barrel ?
You have to take the main shell apart.
i did all the same mods and now it wont turn on
Trigger won’t reset after this, where do you think I went wrong
You might have not put the pusher return back in
Is it just me or it looks like a r-201 from titalfall/apex
No how
The problem with this gun is the accuracy imo
