    I enjoy the joy and enthusiasm of honest bikers. Stay focused and aware of fellow motorists on the road, you know when it's cool to open the throttle and when. Ride safe and keep on.. 👊🏼😎🏍

    I've got the same bike with the same exhaust and absolutely love it. I'm in college now so when I scrape enough money together to get the screaming eagle heavy breather I'll really be pleased.

    Thanks for sharing. Great video! I am liking this particular Sportster. I'm 61, and have never owned a HD. I took a Sportster 48 out at the end of the summer last year and just loved the bike. But after reading up on it, the small tank and all, it's not very practical. BTW, your's looks great. These mods really made it shine!

    Thanks man, one of the best videos on this model so far - maybe a bit long, you could've cut some of the riding bit, especially the part without sound...
    Couple questions:
    - How easy and quick is the gearbox to shift when you wanna rip through the gears (like at 9:40 in the video)
    - Have you weighed it before and after doing the mods? I wonder just how much heavy the stock exhaust system is and how much you can save by putting an aftermarket full system on
    - Did the temperatures comes down after the mods?
    Waiting for those horsepower and torque info once you've dyno-ed it!

    • @ItsInMyShortsvids
      @ItsInMyShortsvids  8 лет назад

      +ToxicDonut81 thanks, I agree, the riding part without sound wasn't expected-that part of the video. I was trying to show the smoothness. I've trimmed the video down a bit.
      -going through the gears-it feels a bit heavy/long. Nothing out of the norm of a sportster. Very much like a 883. I'm used to the smooth quick gsxr 600 shift. However when rolling the throttle all the way and blasting out of a red light, that doesn't get in the way for me. When you shift, you feel it in your foot and leg and hear a heavy/smooth click sound.
      -the stock exhaust is very heavy. I didn't weigh it but it had to be between 10 to 20 pounds. The stock air cleaner was actually a bit heavy too. The bike definitely likes those pounds shaved off.
      -the temperature difference is significantly noticeable. Stock temperature would get hot quickly and you could feel it within 5min of riding, and feel it even worse while at red lights. It was so bad it had me checking for engine lights. After the mods it is 100% better, I don't feel the heat at all while riding and it takes maybe 3mins at a red-light for me to notice.
      I will post the dyno info asap. And the actually weight difference. I'm expecting 80hp 80tq from what fuel Moto told me

    Funny how in 2003 the stock buell 984 evo Harley motor made more power than this with a stage 2 kit. Why didn’t harley update the motor for this bike!? Christ
    I like the looks of this bike.. I test road one but it was just too slow and heavy

    Love this new Roadster - great video. Regarding the physical size of the bike. I have had the Ducati Sport 1000 and I am 186 cm. may I ask how tall you are, and what do you think about the ergo's on your new bike.

    • @ItsInMyShortsvids
      @ItsInMyShortsvids  8 лет назад

      +Lars Duus yep, thanks! I am 180 cm. Judging from pics of the Ducati sport 1000 and your height I'd say you would find yourself more upright/relaxed. Definitely go and test the ergo out.
      For me I came off a 2008 gsxr600 then to Riding a 2010 Harley 883. Then to the roadster. Id say the roadster is the happy median between the gsxr forward positioned ergo and the 'leaned back' positioned ergo of the 883. Where it's just enough forward to feel kick a$$ and just enough leaned back to be comfortable for a while

    • @mallen1846
      @mallen1846 8 лет назад

      I am 175 cm tall, I owned a Harley XR1200X and a Triumph Bonneville prior to my Roadster, looking at the specs for all bikes the seat height, wheelbase and rake were almost identical. I find the Roadster to be very comfortable, however, I did replace the handle bars, I bought some from V&H that were originally for my old XRX and they are perfect for me, they give a more of an upright tracker sit up and beg riding position.
      I have since added some progressive rear shocks that raise the rear another 37 mm which gives me a little more cornering clearance and a noticeably smoother ride. I am going for a tracker style and this bike is perfect for it imho.

    hey buddy awesome bike when u switched ur signals did it blink fast or did it blink normal just wondering cuz sometimes when u switch from bud to led it happens and u have to get led module

    • @ItsInMyShortsvids
      @ItsInMyShortsvids  7 лет назад

      thank you, at first the indicator lights (left arrow and right arrow) blinked fast but the actual LED turn signals blinked at normal speed. Before I got the LED I contacted a tech and verified that this bike doesn't need a module. so I was a little confused at first when indicators blinked fast but lights did not. but after a few start ups and a few hours they normalized. no problems since then and Ive logged about 1000miles

  • @PatriotNC1
    @PatriotNC1 7 лет назад

    You have the kind of setup I'm looking for when I get the bike. ( Soon, I hope. ) What kind of throttle response are you getting with the Stage One upgrade? Where are you feeling the power? Down low? Midrange? Top end? All of the above? Thanks.

    • @ItsInMyShortsvids
      @ItsInMyShortsvids  7 лет назад

      PatriotNC1 the power comes in between about 2-4K rpm ALL of 2nd gear into 3rd are my absolute favorite. Great for greeting up to speed after a redlight. Top end is pretty much not there, but at that point your going 90+mph and going that fast locally on a Harley just isn't safe. So power is in 60% low end (1-3gear) 30%mid (3-4) and 10%top (5th gear)

    80hp out of a stage 1 Sportster 1200????? A 110 (1800) Low Rider S puts out about 83hp so you may want to check

    Hey Z1! Im about 2 months away from buying the same bike. Could you please tell me how much did you spend on Stage 1 upgrades? Just the Vance and Hines and the Screamin Eagle, I want exactly the same parts. Thanks!

    • @ItsInMyShortsvids
      @ItsInMyShortsvids  7 лет назад

      Guillermo it wasn't much! About 750$ for the cleaner and pipes. The tuner was about 450$ I put them on myself though so I didn't have to pay for labor. The install wasn't too bad, if your already mechanically inclined.

    Hi! nice video! I am getting a roadster next week and I'm very interested in a stage 1 upgrade... my question is... how much $$$ dit it cost more or less? thanks!

    • @ItsInMyShortsvids
      @ItsInMyShortsvids  8 лет назад

      +Juan Enrique Yxart Romeu very awesome! Stage one: Full exhaust, air cleaner, tuner
      The parts I bought totalled about $1300US. I did my own labor. (To have Harley do it all it was like 1800US$)
      Doing it myself (with help of my father in laws over sight-the guy who did the burn-out) wasn't bad at all-if you do this kind of work and have mechanical ability and attention to detail.
      The tuner was pretty expensive because I plan on doing more work in the future(there are less expensive ones)
      Don't settle for a slip on, not that it would hurt, you just get more benefits for your money with a full exhaust (less weight, cooler temp, Higher HP)
      Be sure to ask your dealer any technical or mechanical questions regarding the stage one.
      Enjoy your ride man!
