It's possible that when Jesus said... that the world may be saved through him, that Nicodemus' mind reflected on how Old Testament Levitical priesthood animal sacrifices were offered for forgiveness of the people and how now God's upgraded plan was for Jesus to become our Supreme Passover Sacrifice for salvation. Robert Powell's performance as Jesus of Nazareth was fascinating and just incredible. He captured the essence of Jesus' character in this movie more so than any other actor who played the role of Jesus in other movies on Christ. And I salute the other actors in this film; they did a fantastic job as well at playing other biblical characters. The movie Jesus of Nazareth is a masterpiece.
