They had no business going that hard for chapter 6 but I am so glad they did.
I love how they adapted the style of regional battle themes from Origami King.
The Hooktail Castle one is actually called Extra since it's used in The Great Boggly Tree, Inner Poshley Sanctum, The Courtyard of The Shadow Queen's Palace (Palace Of Shadow) & Pit Of 100 Trials.
Surprisingly, the only of those two places correlate to the Hero Goomba, despite her DYING in The Great Tree, but, her Curse Chest being Hooktail's Castle. The Rest died in places where their Curse Chests would be Hidden:
Toad- Rogueport Sewers
Boo- Twilight Town (Though, she most likely died in the Creepy Steeple)
Koopa- Pirate's Grotto
And technically 4 of the Crystal Stars are still cursed.
The Sapphire, Ruby & Crystal Stars are confirmed to be Cursed as their locations correlation to the Hero that who hid them and the Cursed Chest locations listed before. Most likely Toad died on his way to Bonetail, since Battle Extra plays there & The Courtyard of the Shadow Queen's Palace.
As for why Goomba's Cursed Chest in Hooktail's Castle, maybe it's implying the Diamond Star was Cursed, not the Emerald Star. Sill not sure there.
Edit: Alright, looked it up. Seems like I had Goomba & Toad's locations mixed up.
Goomba died in the Sewers Probably, but, that means Toad died in Hooktail Castle, which means it's the Diamond Star. However, it was the four HEROES were cursed, not the stars. Whoops.
It was not used in the Boggly Tree. Both the Boggly Tree battle theme and the "Extra" battle theme lead with a minor key version of the regular battle theme melody but they are different

The Chapter 2 battle theme is one of the most beautiful battlethemes Ive heard in a while

2,3,4,6 and 7 are my favorites I can't decide which one I like the most especially with chapter 4 as chapter 4 is one of my favorite chapters.

My main problem with Chapter 7's version is the amount of places it plays is very small...
The Gamecube version of this track sticks out like a sore thumb, for obvious reasons but still. The remade themes are much more pleasant to listen to.
I haven't played the remake. What music did they use for Chapter 8?
they didn't, the battle music doesn't change from the overworld music in order to keep that creepy stressful atmosphere
Technically Chapter 1’s battle theme is Prologue’s and HookTale’s Castle’s battle theme is Chapter 1’s
Hooktails is called Extra because its used in multiple different places so yeah Chapter 1 is Chapter 1s.
For me chapter 1 is meh 2, good 3, good, 4 good 5, meh, 6 good 7, good

To be honest i love every song in the original except for glitzviles hub music and glitzpit music it would have been fine if they wouldn't have made it sound Chinese or Japanese but that's my opinion im not saying asian music is bad ive listened to quietly a few but compared to the original GameCube music id choose that over glitzviles music except glitzviles battle music that i don't mind i just don't care for hub music compared to the original.

If you don't do anything during your turn for a while, some of the instruments fade out, kind of like with riding Plessie in Bowser's Fury.
yeah nintendo's started doing that a lot. in mario wonder if you stand still some instruments go quiet
