Fun fact! Seasmoke is the older brother of Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion. Their eggs all come from Dreamfyre, Heleana's dragon. The triplets' eggs were stolen by a lesbian lover of a Targaryen princess about 80 years before HOTD and she sold them in Braavos to buy a ship. During one of Corlys' voyages he believed he came upon the ship in Asshai where it was old and weathered

The differences between Alicent and Rhaenyra in terms of motherhood is one of the most interesting "background themes" for me. More than anything, it shows what a difference the maturity of the parents/primary caregivers makes for the children.
I think the thing with Alys was similar to Giles in Buffy season 7, they were making sure she wasn't interacting with anyone to make it seem like she wasn't visible only to reveal that she is in fact, real.

Vermithor and Silverwing aren't actually wild dragons, just ones that currently don't have a rider; Jaehaerys was the previous rider of Vermithor, and his sister-wife Alysanne the rider of Silverwing.
I don’t think Alicent and Rhaenyra as mothers can be compared because the context with which they became mothers is completely different. Alicent has her youngest child Daeron by age 20, around the same age that Rhaenyra has her first. All Alicent’s children were by an older man she was forced to marry, all Rhaenyra’s children were with men that she chose. Alicent’s sons had to deal with open neglect from their father, Rhaenyra’s didn’t. And most importantly, Alicent raised her children under fear that they would be killed should they be seen as a threat to Rhaenyra’s claim. This isn’t to say Rhaenyra hasn’t struggled, she has, but the conditions of Alicent’s motherhood aren’t really comparable to anyone else in the story.
One reason I absolutely love watching your reactions. You pick up on so many subtle things that many others overlook. You saw the seeds being laid with Rhaenyra and Mysaria while everyone else thought it odd and out of nowhere and being forced just because. Even on other series you're watching, you've already pointed out some stuff that's gonna be revealed much later on in the season. Anywho. That's all. Keep being you and stay great!!!
Alys is rumored to be ancient. She would've been at Harrenhal for the Great Council that chose Viserys. She may have poked around in his mind too. I think no one else talks to her because they know she's always been there, they don't know how, she's weird but helpful too. So don't be cruel to her but don't encourage her either.
By the way I don't know if you caught that. But it seems that Alys helped Grover Tully into his way to the afterlife... (She volunteered her skills) Strong said.
Deamon doesn't think that Rivers could poison him, because she tried it herself before she gave him something to drink for the first time. He saw that she consumes the stuff she mixes herself. I think Rivers is like Malisandre. She has visions, can drink poisoned things, and I think she's much older than she looks, like Malisandre. The decline is being prepared. On the green side you show the people that dragons are not gods and on the black side you show that the lower people can ride dragons. All this is not good for the royals in the long run. In addition, it seems that the dragons will choose their riders directly and not the other way around. There is a significant difference between Deamon and his brother in the dialogue to the first season. At that time, the king said these words in anger. In Deamon's vision here, he says the words in sadness and disappointment. I don't think Seasmoke tricked the knight. I think he could have ridden Seasmoke. I think he made the mistake of changing his behavior all at once. The belief that he had made it triggered Seasmoke. A sudden emotional swing that the dragon perceived as negative. Seasmoke was eager to find a new rider. He was restless the whole time. And because the knight was not the right one, Seasmoke had had enough and said to himself, I'll just look for one myself. On the other hand, this also means that Rhaenyra's ex-husband must be dead, otherwise a dragon would never look for a new rider, because a bond lasts a lifetime. This is Lore. By the way, the new rider is of course Leonor's half-brother. So Seasmoke stays in the family. I think Rhaenera thinks at first that Leonor has returned and rides on seasmoke or a green. If the man with his sick child is a dragon rider too, then Rhaenyra will have a big problem if he fights at her side. Because as it turns out here, he knocks down another of his kind to get what he wants, for his own benefit. Typical traitor material. If such a person fights at Rhaenyra's side and gets a better offer at some point, he will betray her. I don't think anything in this show happens to be shown the way it's shown. We should see that this man lets others jump over the blade to get what he wants. It doesn't matter if Aegon becomes capable of acting again, he can't do anything against Aemond, because he needs him on his dragon. To protect the city and win the war. Helena had a vision again. A cricket that has stopped singing. I think we will see what the vision means shortly afterwards. Helena and Alicent are attacked and find shelter in the carriage. The carriage is the cricket cage. And I think Allicent is the cricket that stops singing. She is losing influence. She is no longer herself. Her world has collapsed.

"It seemed like in Season 1 Aemond was the closest one to Alicent" Yeah. It's unfortunate that they didn't show us Alicent's immediate reaction to the news of Luke's death. Velaryons were dragon riders in old valyria they don't need Targeryen blood to be dragon riders, Adamm is a Velaryon Bastard that's why Seasmoke chose him
This directly contradicts the words of Corlys who told Deamon that the Velaryons are an older house than the Targaryens, but they were never dragon riders.
@@anhkriva5274 Thats because they changed stuff from the books, where Velaryons were White skinned and they married Targaryens for generations. So when i say they don't need pure Targaryen blood is because they have Targaryen blood already regardless of their surname, and yet having Velaryon riders was probably never part of the marrige arrengments
We do know that there have been several marriages between Targaryens and Velaryons. We don’t have knowledge of Corlys’ direct ancestors. So we don’t have direct proof that any of them were Targaryens. But I would not be surprised. Even Aegon the Conqueror had a Velaryon mother. So there is quite a lot of common blood between the two families. Corlys is likely to have more Targaryen blood than Ser Steffon Darklyn.

I mean, he grew up in the Red Keep hearing his father and Otto talk about him. I think Aemond desperately wants to be Daemon, but he only know the stories of Daemon, not the man.
i agree i dont think shes real either, i dont think she has ever interacted with anyone else
Don't beat yourself up about your Alys theory, it's not easy to say what exactly is the deal with her. There's almost guaranteed to be something magical about her.
@@anhkriva5274Yup, the velaryons were NEVER Dragon riders. The only Dragon lords to survive the doom were the Targaryens!!!
Well, except for Laenor and lena, because they have a Targaryen mother
@@anhkriva5274 Thats because they changed stuff from the books, where Velaryons were White skinned and they married Targaryens for generations. So when i say they don't need pure Targaryen blood is because they have Targaryen blood already regardless of their surname, and yet having Velaryon riders was probably never part of the marrige arrengments
Rhaenyra made that story up with Targaryens and Darklyn being related by blood this never happen
Velaryons are of Valyrian descent. That’s enough for the dragons.
not show made mess Velaryons are not dragon lords nor Celtigars even tho they are Valyrains
Oh, and I dont know, but if anyone has read the books or much more knowledgeable than I, do you think the dragon at The Vale is Cannibal?
Sheepstealer fits better in my opinion.
@@anhkriva5274 hmmm good point and makes much more sense. Thanks.
They made Aegon pushover in show but in books he was politically smart and Aemond was only good fighter and had big dragon
Wish we had gotten to see Smeasmoke claim his rider. We always get cool thing teased and then it cuts away and we only see the aftermath or people reacting to the aftermath. It is getting tiering and boring. I don't want to see the Blacks being confused over who the rider could be, since I already know exactly who it is. I want to see Addam touch the dragon, connect with him and experience his first ride. Huge disappointment and not the first one. SHOW don't TELL.
agree they do a lot of telling and not showing this season
In one of the episodes the old Strong guy nodded to her as he walked past. They are all cowards and she is scary as hell, so I am sure that is why she is able to walk around like she owns the place, which of those people would confront her? We all now know what Rhaenyra's turn on is.... father daughter stories, she simply cannot resist..
Alicent was forced to marry Viserys and have his kids or more like spares they were for Viserys because he never care she was single mom Rhaenyra chose her lovers she could because here father would make cover story for her Alicent could not have this
They’re not bastards. There’s no where in history that says or proves that.
🤨🤨
yes they are
Was their mother Corlys' wife? If not, they are bastards, it's as simple as that.
My theory is that alys rivers does exist but it’s not whoever daemon is talking to
Comparing raeneyra parentage to alicent is out of the question man. Both situations are completely opposite
to say dialogue has been missing this season is flat out idiotic

20:04 why??? Maybe cause there is only three black characters in the show…. 1+1 and we just seen one with white hair being shaved..
Rhaenyra and Mysaria were so beautiful and romantic. We're winning with Bi Rhaenyra
I really didn't expect the subtext to become text! Be still my queer heart 😍
So romantic after rape story no build up ,no chemisty and she just cheated on Daemon .
Thankfully you're not.
@@juliandevito9953 what is that supposed to mean?
@@godemperorofmankind3.091 forget them. I swear anytime someone comments on a queer character some homophobe has to whine or get pissy, they just can't stand it or let it go. I'm straight but I think it makes sense for these two characters as I've always thought young Rhaenyra and Alicent had a thing as I know the younger actresses kinda played it that way from interviews. Actually I always thought Alicent was in love with Rhaenyra but was super repressing it due to her religious beliefs.
Writing of characters from s1 to s2 is inconsistent
Yes I think so too. Especially with Aegon I feel like the Aegon played by Ty Tennant is vastly different from Tom Glynn-Carneys Aegon, and not just looks, but personality as well. The only think they have in common is drinking and being bored.
@@evatesche Aegon ? Aegon is like the only character that is consistent Ty played ten Aegon Tom plays Adult Aegon he can feel a little different but Aegon's arc is the best the one that are incosistent are Alicant Aemond Corlys and Rhaenyra
@@queenxx1690 Maybe the hugely different look is throwing me off, but in my mind it is like they are two completely different characters. On first watch I had a really hard time remembering that it is supposed to be the same guy.
Whaaaaatt?!?!?!?! you didn't know what??? thakt is all the point to bring people to them(dragons ) to choose thear rider !!!!!!!!what the fuck did you think???if they do something wrong dragon kills them or if dragon vant to kill them they are not just dogs
Dude watch your tone. SoFie is one of the kindest respectful reactors out here, if your just gonna insult her no need to watch her channel. We don't need jerks and trolls here.
