    I'm just throwing it out there. At this point in the book, Daemon wasn't doing much. There isn't much written about his time in Harrenhall. He was there trying to raise an army. So it was either get some character development or barely be in the season. He wasn't doing a lot of badass Daemon things. I personally love this arc. Love the weirwood dreams actually being a thing in the shows finally. Love Alys Rivers to death. She's probably my favorite character. Also, for this to actually have an impact on Daemon, it couldn't just be a couple of visions. He is way too stubborn for that. Lol He has a shit load of demons to work through and is very hard headed. Seems like they finally got through to him.

    Worth noting, in the book, Addam is 16 and his mother claims he is Laenor's son. That's why he can ride Seasmoke.
    It also makes me wonder if Laenor died offscreen. As far as we know a dragon can only bond with one rider at a time.

    • @Blinkptx
      @Blinkptx 2 месяца назад +1

      I don't think he's dead. I think that's why Seasmoke claimed a rider instead of the other way around. He was abandoned for over six years and chose someone who at least shares blood with Laenor.

      @havok6280 True. Maybe it's just how I'm interpreting it, but I'm not aware of another example of the dragon being the one to claim a rider. That tells me that Seasmoke misses its bond and knows Laenor is alive but never coming back. So, it decided to find the next best person who shares his blood. I'm willing to be wrong, but we'll probably never know one way or the other. I'm cool with this being the exception to the rule based on the unique situation. I don't know of any other riders who abandoned their dragon.

    The Granpa of Oscar Tully was pro green as he supported the idea of males above females in inheritance in the books. He is too old to act though but the lords are undecisive on what to do since their liege does support the greens but they dont. Oscar Tully is more pro-black like many other houses in the riverlands except the Brackens. So when he died, Oscar takes it over and secures the riverlands completely for the blacks.

    It seems it will be another 2 years until Season 3, but the good news is that we'll have "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" (based on the Dunk and Egg novellas) next year to help bridge the gap and tide us over. From how the schedules are lining up, it seems likely we'll be getting an ASoIaF season every year between the two shows.
    The Rhaenyra/Mysaria kiss makes a lot of sense to me; there's been an underlying tension between them for the last few episodes and they're both in need of comfort. Add this to the homoerotic undertones between Rhaenyra and Alicent in Season 1, and it didn't come as a huge shock. It remains to be seen how this will play out, but I'm fully on board.

Alicent in the book was an obnoxious evil stepmother. The show has done a great job at making her an actual character that is relatable. The people who screech otherwise are simpletons, anime fans and people who read the Fire & Blood wiki or watched that shitty animated recap on RUclips, because I don't understand where half these people get their ridiculous opinions about how the show has deviated. I'm really not a fan of how the show depicts starvation, like poor starving people wouldn't ask for meat, meat would seem like a luxury, and they for sure wouldn't throw the food away like they did at Alicent. As a person who grew up in a poor African country and experienced some starvation and hunger, I find it distasteful. Also the show wanting to pin it on Aemond alone is really immature writing in my opinion given that Rhaenyra started it. The show keeps whitewashing her that I'm afraid where it's headed. It's an anti-war and anti-classism story, not a feminist epic. Both sides commit atrocities in this war.

      @@havok6280 They did. Well, I'm not sure if it was rotten but yes the crowd were throwing fish at Alicent. And as far as the small folk go when it came to throwing food at both Alicent and Heleana, I only really ever saw fish, which had been the main diet for the small folk since Ageon became King. I didn't see any other food stuffs being thrown but I'm only able to watch the show through YT reactions so I'll take what I can get!!! As far as starving people wasting food to throw at an offending Queen/King/Regent, some of y'all haven't read much about European history, especially from the medieval era and onwards, especially in England. The people got pissed off enough to throw food at those in authority they hated, along with other things like horse manure. And the show is NOT pinning it on Aemond alone. It's been mentioned at least 4 to 5 times between episodes 5 & 6 that Rhanerya has a blockade set up along the Gullet. What the council was trying to get through to Aemond's arrogant ass was that even though Rhanerya was the reason food was scarce and was a pretty big reason why the small folk were starving, the small folk look to their leaders to help them, to guide them, reassure them and be SEEN doing SOMETHING!!! It's not so much who's set up the blockade but more "You're our Prince Regent, you've locked us in here, trapped us, we're watching our beloved family members getting ill and slowly dying in front us. Meanwhile, you're blatantly bringing in carts filled with fresh food and other goodies to be brought up to the Red Keep for YOU!!!" "WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?" Then of course, thanks to Mysaria's brilliant plan, Rhanerya sends a small flotilla of ships to the people with HER banner as the sail and has food in each small boat. Now, the people will forget anything bad about Rhanerya (for now) and praise her for remembering them and caring about them. War is a f***** b***h. There are no losers nor winners. Just ashes, smoke, fire, and a mass of humanity in various stages of agony. Grim, I know but hey...sometimes we need to be reminded war is NOT romantic or glamorous. Hopefully, HoTD will be able to show that just enough without going overboard.

    • @Mutazili
      @Mutazili 2 месяца назад

      @@kateluxor2986 I spoke as a person who did experience extreme hunger growing up. So I wasn't really guessing what the smallfolk must be feeling, I survived it.
      Medieval European peasants did not typically throw food at their monarchs or lords during times of protest. Such direct and open acts of defiance would have been dangerous due to the severe consequences imposed by the ruling class. Peasants had very limited means of protest and often faced harsh reprisals for any form of rebellion or disrespect towards their superiors.
      Throwing food, which was a precious resource, would also have been impractical and wasteful for peasants who often faced scarcity.
      Also during such crises, monarchs and lords were typically well-protected and less accessible to common people. Peasants would have had limited opportunities to confront them directly and throw food at them (which even then it's not likely to happen for the reasons mentioned above).
      No, the show clearly wants to pin it on the Greens alone, more specifically Aemond. That scene in the small council was Larys telling the audience that even though it's Rhaenyra's decision to blockade the city, it's HIS responsibility to feed them. Thus it's also the audience's conclusion from how the show framed Rhaenyra to be a borderline a saint in this season and the Greens villains (Just watch the reaction channels' reaction to when Aemond says that it's Rhaenyra is starving them). Mark my word, each crime Rhaenyra did in this war will be either written off or framed in a way that delegates the responsibility to the Greens or the men in her council. I wouldn't be surprised if they make Jace betray her just in preparation for that. This is because this show took an anti-war story and turned into a feminist epic, in almost every episode they remind you that women would have made more peaceful and wiser rulers (Hilary Clinton, Madeleine Albright, Golda Meir, Wu Zeitan, Elizabeth Bathory, Bloody Mary, Isabella of Castille, etc?) And so they either write off team black women's crimes or pin them on other men. Rhaenys stomping on hundreds of innocent civilians in the dragonpit was depicted as a girl boss moment. This is why I'm concerned for the future of this show, and wished the viewers were more critical towards the showrunners.

      Don’t you think that the “history” really boils them down to how they were remembered overall? I can see Rhaenyra becoming more brutal for sure

      @@MugShotzReacts Rhaenyra is too white washed in the show.. she became boring now while in books she was an interesting flawed character
