Garp kind of needs to see Luffy again. But captured is definitely a possibility. If he dies that's not having the completetion of Marine Ford's setup. Garp, Ace, Luffy were so focused on in that arc, and the conclusion of the arc didn't really tie up Luffy and Garp.
And here i am hoping to get to see garp meeting luffy once more after he became the emperor since the last time he saw him only when he suffered a mental breakdown after ace died. 😢
For real, considering the fact that Garp's introduction as Luffy's grandpa was such an impactful moment and they have such an interesting dynamic of pirates vs Marines going against their love for each other it would feel empty to just kill him off here without Luffy ever seeing him again

Ace didnt take one for luffy he literally became a donut, Garp is still alive or he could be dying but honestly if after everything Shiryu's going to be the one to take down Garp while Roger and WB went out on an epic note, its going to be disheartening to say the least...
Ace did not take one for Luffy, in fact he wasted Luffy's efforts and sacrifices because he could not let a "your daddy" insult slide. Luffy would not have been in that position if Ace had not turned around when Akainu insulted Whitebeard, Ace would not have to "take one" for Luffy if he did not fuck up the escape because of his ego. This is completely different. Koby was kidnapped and had no choice, Ace had the choice and chose to waste the sacrifices of Luffy and the sacrifices of the WB Pirates.
Raw scans shows garp with his backup right behind him and that Colby got caught slipping and garp jumped in the way. Idk why people overestimate the old people especially in one piece where time after time their opponents have never gone all out ( kizaru would demolish rayleigh(first commander level in old age), akainu could’ve easily slept wb had he been alone and able to use his full capabilities). Even aokiji was non serious at the start but when it got serious he clashed with conquerors haki garp , and then garp was put down while aokiji hasn’t been shown.
I have a feeling Garp will survive this. And that if he is killed during the story, it will be by the hands of either Imu, Shanks' dad, or the Gorosei.
If Vasco Shot's devil fruit power is about turning things into liquor, I think it's fair to say he could skip the beverage part and turn things into pure alcohol if he tried hard enough. And alcohol DOES burn, so that could explain the fire breath.
I think we should let Oda(and any manga artist period) have a mandatory 1 month break for physical and mental health reasons. We have to many examples at this point of how the industry works these artists to death. So happy that Oda is able to get these breaks. He deserves it for bringing us so much Joy weekly for 2 decades
Even my work, which is pretty shitty, gives our live-in positions a week off after a week on. The manga and anime industries are monsters. What it does to their workers is disgraceful.
You're probably getting the "Garp punches mountins" thing from the flashback where he fought Don Chinjao. before the fight Garp said he destroyed a few mountains as a warm up to the fight
The blue tie looks nice on you, Matt! Anyway, I LOVE how dirty the Blackbeard pirates are. They really embody the true spirit of piracy and how pirates are viewed by the majority of the One Piece world.
No, Tekking you aren't misremembering. Don Chinjou mentioned Garp punching mountains when he fought Luffy. Or I think it was Garp mentioning it in Chinjou's flashback.
7:49 Garp told Don Chinjao in their flashback that he punched 8 mountains for breakfast. It was in the anime during Luffy and Don Chinjaos fight in Dressrosa so I don't know if it's canon manga info but it is in anime.
The mountain punching was mentioned during dressrosa, in the chinjao vs garp flashback. That was probably done as haki training by garp, punching the ships is probably "just" his physical buildup training.
It would be crazy if someone showed up to save Garp. I still think Garp will be the person who will give us the God Valley flashback. I seriously hope he doesn’t die, but finally retires from the Navy after this.
If bogard doesnt show up to at least stop pizzaro hes a right hand man fraud but as far as saving garp, its not looking good for garp, sengoku and tsuru may find it difficult getting the manpower to rescue garp due to a war brewing at egghead and by the time sengoku ans tsuru reaches pirate island Blackbeard might return
Akainu might have a higher bounty since he's a fleet admiral now. Keep in mind, Fleet admiral is just a translation of Gensui, where as Admiral is Taisho. The former does not have the admiral character in there.
I agree that I don’t want Oda to kill Garp is a cliche way. At least let him make it to the final war and get an epic death like Whitebeard. I’m hoping this is going to be similar to Rayleigh showing up at Amazon Lily. Like it’s Oda’s way of showing that these legends from the old era are still extremely powerful but they have clearly passed their prime and won’t be such game changers like they were in the past. I see it as the signal that it’s time for them to let the new generation take the lead and finish what his generation started.
I mean, first Crocodile in Impel Down/Marineford, and then Lucci currently in Egghead. Would anyone be surprised if Moria somehow teamed up with Luffy in the future?
Garp's public execution.... Also Fans: Oda please kill somebody!! Oda: OK Fans: NO ODA PLEASE, YAMETE KUDASAI!!! YOU WERE RIGHT, WE WERE WRONG!!! DON'T DO IT!! 🤣🤣🤣
On the garp age thing, remember that Oda bases the appearance of the characters' age on their life stage. Example Sengoku having his hair all white after he quit being the Admiral. So Garp in this chapter is in his prime of training and fighting off pirates like Roger. After Roger's gets capture I'm pretty sure that when he decided to be more carefree and laid back and then where he is now where all his hair is gray.
@@JiangGo1998 I remember that, but we dont really know that, do we. He talked about it like if a pirate showed up at a marine place to cash it in, which might not be what happens. But all it takes to solve this is some kind of middle man. Lets say the pirates capture someone. They then find someone with money who they can then sell them off to. And then this person goes to the marines to cash in the bounty. That could literally be a job in that verse. Like a bounty hunter without any of the hunting.
@@Nelsathis Now that I think about it, it was just mostly head canon on Tekking's part. I just hope Oda makes bounty hunters relevant again as a serious threat maybe.
@@NelsathisPretty sure that in the Ace novel, that was something Whitebeard did. Lol. Like, he obviously didn't recruit EVERYONE who fought his crew. Probably shouldn't have picked a fight with a Yonko. 😅
Yo, would have appreciated it if you'd have waited for the TCB scans release. Wasn't a big deal to see the thumbnail early though, just got me a bit impatient :D
in the older dragon ball, Goku use to wear weighted clothes, but he took them off to not hinder himself anymore. Though I think that was the last time he had something to suppress his full power in a fight.
You know if we do see full power Garp soon, I wouldn't be surprised if he was the best user of full body haki we've seen. So far in the story whenever we see someone go full body armament haki, they usually get wrecked immediately afterwards, but not Garp I bet. Heck if he's confirmed to have conqueror's haki, we might see the first ever full body application of conqueror's. Would love if Oda did that.
I'll say that Garp 100% won't die here, he has a place in the final part of the story. His saying that justice will always prevail is also indicative of that. He has had his gripes against/straight up denial of the Celestial Dragons and their ways, and when they fall, he will be there. It's part of his story, and he'll see what happens to them at the end of it all. Maybe this fight against the BB Pirates leaves him crippled/not on his A game for the rest of the story, but he definitely won't die here.
Back when Garp left with his crew to save Koby i thought "It's okay, Oda is an actually decent mangaka, there's no way he will acually pull the pathetic and overused old-man-dies-for-cheap-sob-chapters cliche".. guess i overestimated him.
@@sketchasaurrex4087 that's not a good enough reason for Sanji to fight him. Sanji will never eat a Devil Fruit so Oda bringing this "oh but he wants THIS specific fruit" will feel tired, because it's not like he's gonna kill Shiryu and get the fruit from him.
I just had a funny thought. What if the Glug Glug Fruit does the opposite of what we think? What if Vasco literally can't get drunk and he hates it so he has to keep constantly drinking otherwise he sobers up instantly
I think aside from the obvious Marineford paralel, Aokiji may try to save the marine's ship as an Ohara paralel He wont help Garp but he WILL try to help (or feel uneasy) about letting another ship (with innocents) fleeing.
I also think thats the whole meaning behind Garp saying that justice will prevail. He belives that Kuzan will not let all those people die. I hope he wont lol.
"You think this is the first time Garp has almost been crushed by a giant hand from the island island fruit? You don't know Garp." I actually laughed out loud.
I also think Garp dying would be the motivation for Koby to become his strongest self, and setup a hatred towards the BB pirates. It feels like he's setting up a parallel with the fight against Rocks. BB v. Hero of the Marines and future king of the pirates.
That final Quote of Justice will prevail, just reminds me of the Donquixote Doflamingo: ”Justice will prevail, you say? But of course it eill! Whoever wins this war becomes justice!”
another thing to think about for the battleships bags is that the bottom of the ships are coated in seaprisim, which makes the dents even more impressive.
Our boy Tekking is on to something here… if fans got a movement going where enough of us agree that Oda should take a month off once a year we’d have One Piece for the rest of our lives..
Not at all.. he can easily refuse to take a month off to expedite the series. I was jokingly suggesting a win-win scenario where he gets more down time and we get to be blessed with one piece a little longer. F me for having some fun, right?
yeah, i'd put akainu as a brawler over aokiji--before this chapter anyway. But seemingly aokiji was and is a physical beast. Which makes sense.. because its always been my theory that the first 3 canon admirals to appear in the story all got their logia's WHEN they became an admiral, not by luck. Much like Kaku and Kalifa got one for their return to CP9 from being undercover.
@@Greatsharkbiteaokiji had his fruit during the Ohara incident and he was just a Vice admiral(maybe lower, I don't remember for sure, he for sure wasn't an admiral)

Okay, picture this, next chapter first panel just after garp said justice will prevail we hear a sword getting unsheathed and next panel Bogard jumps up to the hand above the marine ship Zenitsu style and just cuts the hand straight in half. If that doesn't happen I still want to see some Bogard action as this would be the perfect time
I THOUGHT THE EXACT SAME
THING. If it happens everyone owes us drinks
It's either that, Tashigi, or Fujitora cruises in for no particular reason
Ain't no way Garp's gonna die from just this. He's a legend on the level of Whitebeard, and look how much it took to kill him even though he was already terminally ill.
This is why fights in one-piece doesn't really make sense ... It's more like if what oda wants it to be for plot!
@@imawarrior3516 exactly, this makes my ass hurt so much, the inconsistency in power levels and plot happenchance just makes all the glory go out the window
@@vnixz yeah, Garp dying like this just doesn't feel right. Shiryu killing Garp because he was protecting Koby doesn't feel like a fitting death for Garp. He could have died protecting Koby, I don't have a problem with that part, but the execution doesn't feel right like it did for WB or Oden. I'm not even sure if Garp actually is dead with just this yet. I'm hoping he's not.
He is not on WHITEBEARD'S level c'mon now
@@takeuchi5760 dont worry brother garp is not finish here ... I don't think legend like garp will die like this no way!

You must be blind or dumb
Tekking ❤️'s ONE PIECE soooo much it got me into it. Binge watched it in Feb, liked it, caught up thanks to you Tek. I doubt I'm the only one.
Flip side is if Garp dose bite it Than a vengeance driven Luffy which we would get cause I don't see a world were Black beard the guy who got his brother killed also causing the death his Grandpa which I feel sets up another God valley incident caue Koby would also be wanting throw hands with Black beard after that and that would be tight
@@addex1236 And of course Blackbeard vs Shanks doesn't end in Shank's favor either.
@@addex1236naaa fuck it luffy has enough motivation
Garp is an absolute monster basically dealing we with Blackbeard pirates on his own. ( The amount of strength he has to put San Juan Wolf in to the sea is insane)
If Garp dies somehow I wonder if Luffy would be upset at Koby. I was hoping Koby would've gotten stronger post time skip

I honestly think Kuzan will be the one to stop Pizarro from destroying the escapees’ ship. This is a way too similar situation to O’Hara, and I have a feeling Kuzan won’t let that happen.
That might put kuzan's goal(s) in jeopardy, this might be the best time for bogard to show up and do something if hes for some reason on the ship cuz if not then tashigi needs to do a parallel to zoro vs pica and cut down pizzaros stone arm
Calling it it's going to be perona by making island dude depressed tbh

I really hope that Tashigi is the one that will cut Pizaro's arm like Zoro did with Pica, showing that she has being training maybe with Garp and she got a power up to try challenge Zoro later on the history.
I want to see her do something... anything that involves a sword. Her fight with the ice bird at punk hazard is all she's done I think, and she was loosing hard.
Fr, Oda’s done her so dirty
Challenge Zoro… I highly doubt she will ever be anywhere near his league regardless of training.
@@EM-tx7qm Mmm… Yeah, I don’t think She would be, but it could be the same case at Loguetown, they fight but Tashighi never had a chance to win or similar fight like Zoro vs Mihawk at Baratie.
Ace being on the cover page could be a nod to how Garp took one for Koby in this chapter, just like how Ace did for Luffy at Marineford.
If only Garp had the will and strength to take one for his actual Grandson back in Marineford.
Ace didnt take one for luffy he literally became a donut, Garp is still alive or he could be dying but honestly if after everything Shiryu's going to be the one to take down Garp while Roger and WB went out on an epic note, its going to be disheartening to say the least...
@@skrishna3(・。・;
The old timers having to get sneaked up on before they lose is a testament of their strength for real. I hope Garp doesn’t get the Jiraiya treatment

It sux, but I think Garps death knell has rung
@@tannercarawan6756 Thanks man.
I have a feeling Garp will survive this.
And that if he is killed during the story, it will be by the hands of either Imu, Shanks' dad, or the Gorosei.
I personally don’t think he will
True imu definitely killing a monkey D either garp or dragon
If Vasco Shot's devil fruit power is about turning things into liquor, I think it's fair to say he could skip the beverage part and turn things into pure alcohol if he tried hard enough. And alcohol DOES burn, so that could explain the fire breath.
You don't need pure for it to burn
I think we should let Oda(and any manga artist period) have a mandatory 1 month break for physical and mental health reasons. We have to many examples at this point of how the industry works these artists to death. So happy that Oda is able to get these breaks. He deserves it for bringing us so much Joy weekly for 2 decades
Even my work, which is pretty shitty, gives our live-in positions a week off after a week on.
The manga and anime industries are monsters. What it does to their workers is disgraceful.
You changed the colour of your tie, now we have a legally binding contract, the cookie is mine.
It took a whole month for Aokiji to climb out of the hole that Garp threw him into that just shows how strong Garp is
The mountain punching was mentioned during dressrosa, in the chinjao vs garp flashback.

I can see Bogard revealing himself to back him up
If bogard doesnt show up to at least stop pizzaro hes a right hand man fraud but as far as saving garp, its not looking good for garp, sengoku and tsuru may find it difficult getting the manpower to rescue garp due to a war brewing at egghead and by the time sengoku ans tsuru reaches pirate island Blackbeard might return
There is no chance Garp retires lol. He’s going too keep going until he’s broken or dead
Perharps sengoku and tsuru
@@sergiofavela1480yeah it’s time Bogard shows what those sword skills can really do
Akainu might have a higher bounty since he's a fleet admiral now. Keep in mind, Fleet admiral is just a translation of Gensui, where as Admiral is Taisho. The former does not have the admiral character in there.
I love the thought process of Garp "The water? ... Nah, we need the water" 😂
Hoping for Moria 'revival' and then for him to save everyone
Im with you in this moria needs redemption
Woria agenda all the way
yeah give Moria the uncle Iroh treatment have him come out with the same swagger he had when he fought kaido
It has to be either Moria or Bogard that show up to save the day
I mean, first Crocodile in Impel Down/Marineford, and then Lucci currently in Egghead.
Would anyone be surprised if Moria somehow teamed up with Luffy in the future?
Garp's public execution....
Also Fans: Oda please kill somebody!!
Oda: OK
Fans: NO ODA PLEASE, YAMETE KUDASAI!!! YOU WERE RIGHT, WE WERE WRONG!!! DON'T DO IT!!
🤣🤣🤣
7:49 You didn't imagine that , Garp says himself that he trained by punching out mountains during Don Chinjao's flashback
He trained for chinjao by punching mountains...and he most likely used hakki then
On the garp age thing, remember that Oda bases the appearance of the characters' age on their life stage.
Whoah tekking looks like he's starting to fill up that suit 😯 Good luck on your journey and awesome staying on the grind 💪🏼
If a pirate killed one of the admirals, Croc and Mihawk would probably just sell Buggy out to the Marines and use the money to pay the bounty.
smart business
Pirates can't turn in bounties though.
I think Tekking brought it up before in his One Piece Bounties video series.
And the ones who survived the battle, well, he had to do SOMETHING with them. So he just had some middle man cash in their bounties for him. Sucks to be those guys. Probably shouldn't have picked a fight with a Yonko. 😅
So glad Dragon beat the son-in-law allegations. He's truly garp's son
We back everyone and brought the fists of love with us.

His heart disease kinda suppressed him in the fight against the androids. But that wasn't on purpose :)
I think with the formation of cross guild and the allusion to Garp’s bounty Oda could do a reverse Marine Ford type beat
What do you mean by that?
Did Moria and Perona already leave? Could they help in some way? Just a thought
It is possible they are on the marine ship, Kujaku said that “the wounded and the slaves” are onboard
Goku had his weighted clothes, like I remember the old ass dragonball where Tien was shocked by his shoes and something else he was wearing.
i missed these as much as i missed the chapters, and i’m with you on the end rant too, garp deserves better
Garp brought a fist to a knife fight…and still did pretty good
Bro fought roger rocks and wb who had some type of blade
7:45 You are referring to Garp vs Don Chinjao, where Garp says he trained punching mountains.
When Garp and Aokiji clashed, NOT Garp and Akainu 50:03. Small mistake but I thought I should bring it up.
The chapter wasn't even out yet on tcbscans when you posted this. I'm glad I avoided spoilers because this chapter was insanely good.
Maybe this fight against the BB Pirates leaves him crippled/not on his A game for the rest of the story, but he definitely won't die here.
gotta respect aokiji for choosing not to use his fruit in that pure contest of strength, he treated it the way garp and him trained for years, big up.
Back when Garp left with his crew to save Koby i thought "It's okay, Oda is an actually decent mangaka, there's no way he will acually pull the pathetic and overused old-man-dies-for-cheap-sob-chapters cliche".. guess i overestimated him.

I just had a funny thought. What if the Glug Glug Fruit does the opposite of what we think? What if Vasco literally can't get drunk and he hates it so he has to keep constantly drinking otherwise he sobers up instantly
You were correct Tekking, Garp punched mountains for training before facing Don Chincho to break his drill head!
The small change that trekking made was his tie right? He usually has a black tie, but now has a blue one
I think aside from the obvious Marineford paralel, Aokiji may try to save the marine's ship as an Ohara paralel
He wont help Garp but he WILL try to help (or feel uneasy) about letting another ship (with innocents) fleeing.
BB v. Hero of the Marines and future king of the pirates.
i'm glad One Piece is back but i'm even more glad Oda's doing good
That final Quote of Justice will prevail, just reminds me of the Donquixote Doflamingo: ”Justice will prevail, you say? But of course it eill! Whoever wins this war becomes justice!”
another thing to think about for the battleships bags is that the bottom of the ships are coated in seaprisim, which makes the dents even more impressive.
For everyone wondering opscans has the chapter out.
Bro i see your video upload and I'm searching for chapter harder than some yonkos looking for the one piece

Man Garp is gonna get Whitebearded isn't he. Blackbeard is probably gonna teleport back because of the warp fruit thing and that's how he's gonna go.
Warp would probably be impossible considering the distance, considering it would most likely only be able to warp nearby/in eyesight
A good idea would be like pictures from the chapters right next to tekking's reviews which unlisted and in the description of these regular reviews
In dressrosa they addressed Garp trained against mountain tops to prepare for the dude with the spike head Don something or nother.
Our boy Tekking is on to something here… if fans got a movement going where enough of us agree that Oda should take a month off once a year we’d have One Piece for the rest of our lives..
Just f oda and his wants huh 😅
Not at all.. he can easily refuse to take a month off to expedite the series. I was jokingly suggesting a win-win scenario where he gets more down time and we get to be blessed with one piece a little longer. F me for having some fun, right?
It feels so good to be back!! We made it yall! Hope Oda’s eyes are fine!! Long Live G-Oda!!
Garp dying is a terrifying prospect because Moria is lurking in the same island... the risk of having a Zombie Garp around is very high.
Zombie rocks using Garp shadow
Its oda, nobody important dying
Garp did mention warming up by punching mountains in Don Chin Jou flash back
Vocab fact!
Colby actually falls supine, prone is laying on your stomach.
Garp Dying is the embodiment of the word Impossible. Not happening, He is Him. He's not done cooking .
He's very dead, wake up sheeple!
No wonder Kuzan is so lazy he's still tired from training with Garp
I never pictured Aokiji as a brawler, then this chapter drop n I realized, he is Garp's student, OF COURSE HE IS 🤣🤣🤣
Where did you read it?
yeah, i'd put akainu as a brawler over aokiji--before this chapter anyway.
