My hope for this game is that SOOO many people loved Elden Ring that they'll blindly buy any From Software game. I hope it gives Armored Core the boost in player-count that it's always needed.
nonezero chance we'll catch some folks that'll end up likin' AC afterwards to peep the old series!
I really hope AC6 will be a good entrance for a new fans so that AC community will be great once again and bring mecha genre games back to their golden ages.
I had it with Deamon Souls PS5 remake, first I had to put the game away out of frustration. Came back to it and was totally hooked. Finished Elden Ring too and going to buy any game from this studio from now on.

The guy who designed sekiro's combat is in charge of the game too.
To be fair though FromSoft has had souls like games even before Armored Core. Granted they were first person and trying to compete against Bethesda at that time.
I don't know if "Souls-like" would apply to Kings Field, it was a first person RPG, completely different style of gameplay.

@@Saltyoldguy- Yep i remember way back when all anyone knew of FromSoftware was that they were the developer of that cool neat mecha franchise. Now they have all the talent in the world with all their experience about to go back to their roots with Armored Core. Hype.

Hopefully we are in an era where people get back into the mech genre. They were all AWESOME games. The only thing that I think detered people from it was that it was hard and it required using your head to build your AC(your mech).
Kept dying to the guy bombarding you with homing missles? build your AC to counter missles.
Struggling with the high-speed guys? Build your AC with weapons that slow or stagger movement.
AC overheating from that guy with flamethrowers? Build your AC to run cool.
I can guarantee that there are a LOT of people looking up old youtube videos of the greatness that was and still is Armored Core right now.

Played Armored Core since AC1. The customization, story, combat... man. 9 years too long since we last got to enjoy this title.

Yeah it's an excellent game
Just beat all 3 endings, its a 10/10 game.
This is the foundation of modern fromsoftware. This series single handedly funded the whole future project including souls series.
There's an old meme that essentially goes like "Imagine a game that lets you make your mech's right arm 5% heavier than your left arm, and you do this specifically so that you can turn right faster than the enemy can turn left. Then apply this logic to the entire game."
And you say that to hype players with a more engineer-like mindset into buying a game, thinking that it will be fun even though you are obviously exaggerating. And then they realize you weren't exaggerating at all.
That's how in-depth your AC customization can get, if you want it to.
It's both simple yet intruging. I love it for that fact alone. You can add on all this crazy shit that lets you fly 1% faster because of a type of material but the game can still just go "Hey here's my recommendation, try this".
10 years man! and its finally back! ARMORED CORE IS BACK!

From software is a master at physics when I played dark souls for the first time it instantly clicked when i saw who it was made by I'm so excited for this game!! AC physics were like none other. Anyone remember ac for answer. The white glint fight??? Or the final fight so impressive and that was back on the 360 😱🤯😱
FromSoft is in such a great position. Built up their rep over the years by doing their own thing and having confidence in their game design. Miyazaki is running that place perfectly. Bringing back Armored Core is so amazing. Having it developed in tandem with Elden Ring so it's done already is amazing. He can write and direct even weirder and more abstract fantasy games now while letting other directors at FromSoft shine in their own projects. This is what brought me back to video games. Just wonderful, interesting stuff.
My heart did somersaults when the title showed. I didn't expect Armored Core to return; definitely pre-ordering asap!

Armored Core is back!! AC Arena and Legend of Dragoon were my first 2 ps1 games, and since there i loved AC series, spend hours customizing my AC , the online mode was fun , hope they include that , man so happy for this!!

heavy mech customization, enjoyably difficult mission with lots of secrets, excitingly awesome pvp, even the ai is fun to fight, its fromsoft CORE before dark souls came in.
Cross gen makes sense, game was in development since 2017
I’m literally in it because FROMSOFT but after learning more about armored core I’m so hype now never having played them at all
If you want a good recommendation, try Armored Core 4. It's pretty easy to emulate and easier to come by if you still have a Xbox 360 kicking around. 5 was good but lacking as well.
My advice though, don't expect it to click instantly. Like dark souls it's going to throw a bunch of random shit at you that you have no idea what's going on. But once you understand and take your time, it's one of the greats.
I genuinely thought Geoff was hyping up GTA VI.
It's a very niche genre, even more so than Souls/Souls-like. The correct term is vehicle simulator. It's less like Gundam and more like MechWarrior. Armored Core is of my 2nd favorite mech series, the other is MechWarrior 2.
Souls-like is a genre that didn't exist before Demon Souls. If it gets succeed there'll be ArmoredCore-like.
Finally after almost 15yrs we finally get an armored core game, mechwarrior beware, I've been an armored core fanatic since day 1, and have been screaming for fromsoftware to reintroduce the series ever since mechwarrior made its inception, now I have the hard decision of Diablo 4 or AC6 sike AC6 all the way baby yeah!!!

So what the problem with multiple platforms? Their reaction was like it was clearly something bad or meh.
The new game being held back by a ten year old console is worrying. (PS4 will turn ten years old next year when AC6 releases.).

Because by then the old consoles will be ten years old... That's ancient in tech and it might hold back the potential of the new games.
The market is so saturated with RPGs. But do you know what it is not saturated with at all? MECH GAMES

Sign me up, I feel like Mecha as a whole is getting revitalized with the release of Witch from Mercury, Gundam Evolution, and now Armored Core. Here's to hoping we get more because damn I miss them.
Why is cross-gen seen as a bad thing? I would of thought having a game available to a larger audience would be a good thing.
It's more due to the technical limitations of systems that came out 9 years ago.

@@Corusame Considering that elden ring ran pretty good on old consoles, they probably have them both running on the same engine just with different tweaks.
Their next projects will most likely be current-gen though since we gotta cut that life-line at some point.

I get it being on older consoles though, the release of the current gen consoles has been rough to say the least, and we're at a point where it's diminishing returns with each new console release in terms of power.

I loved the AC franchise ever since i bought my first monthly demo disc on ps1 and the first AC game was on it. I absolutely battered that demo and every single AC game to come after.
