I can't believe the "Devs" messed up the traffic. In real life, traffic on major highways DO NOT slow down or stop to allow another vehicle to cross over just to exit off. People know when an exit is coming up and make an early, smooth lane change within continuously flowing traffic. How the "phuk" do you not know that if you have ever driven on a highway before.... Things like that is what keep games like City Skylines from being something truly amazing.
Hi and thanks for the comment. That is just one of the many aspects of this game which were not sophisticated enough to be properly working because the original dev team was really small and both the publisher and developer didn't even dream of how many people would be playing this game. They simply didn't invest enough time and effort while making the game nor later when all they did was making DLCs.
thank you for this video it has helped alot will be using it in the morning as i always seam to have trafick problems and i end up making my city look horible.

Heres a tip, @7:04 the reason all traffic is waiting till that node to change lanes is because the node before it is actually a broken node you constructed. The jank or sharp angle you made on that previous node gives the impression of an intersection to traffic. So they are not seeing the node as a point to lane change. Remove that angle or jank and that issue there will too go away. In My opinion Traffic Manager stops people from experiencing the rules and behaviours that are there and causes one to find a way to use the mod to fix all issues. To each their own, but...

OR @7:04 the lane changing at that node is because that is the last node before the ramp. If you were to add a node (or two) between that one and the ramp node they would have choices where to lane change allowing smoother flow and changes with better spacing between vehicles. Peek at this to see what a couple of nodes can do. ruclips.net/video/sPcfHZgTBMM/видео.html
Actually yes. It involves adding dead end streets, which help add new arrows the main roads and forcing vehicles to more carefully choose their lanes and places they will turn off the main road. You can see a lot of that showcased in one of my older videos: ruclips.net/video/34w9bWk8oQk/видео.html

@@dj44640 i have asked the same question multiple times. But the Devs are fully under Publishers control. So no joy. Did you enable the TMPE dynamic lane selector?
Hello Rusty Walker, I played with it ON and OFF but as I manually edited almost all my highway lanes it wasn't giving me good results.
oh well thats tiring to put those nodes straight..... because they will just find another side of the road that i havent set up.
I know... but that is how the game is. Too many shortfalls which where never fix by developers.
