Great vid. Lucy is living the dream. I can't believe she brought the land for so cheap! Plus, she hit a 'gold' mine with building her home on Black/Dark Earth (Terra Preta).
For those who don't know what Black/Dark Earth (Terra Preta) is - It's a very dark, fertile, anthropogenic soil/fertiliser. It gets its name from the high charcoal content. The soil is a mix of charcoal, manure, plant matter, etc. It was once thought only native Amazonians used the Black/Dark Earth (Terra Preta) soil but it has been found and used all over the world. Many West Africans used and continue to use Terra Preta.
    Google it.

I am sure there were numerous blocks and blockages along the way. but she persevered and is now living her dreams. many would have given up and that's not even a criticism. I have learnt in life that strength and hardships are not endured equally by all and outcomes are always uncertain even if one tries their best. The plant most comments referring to as Broad Leaf Thyme, the scientific name is Plectranthus Aboinicus.. It's a member of the mint family widely research for it's medicinal properties with a flavor similar to oregano..Some refer to it as Spanish thyme..Another! Lippia Micromera is a tropical perennial belonging to the Verbena family, often referred to as thyme (Fine leaf thyme) in many tropical regions is not oregano nor a thyme either but a shrub! Both are used in numerous cuisines in tropical regions!

Thank you Jasmine, for this beautifully landscaped home and this interesting lady and her home. It would be interesting next time if you could also film the area on the way to your destination so that we could have an idea of what the area is like.
    Cheers, from Canada.

This is beautiful. I am also a Ghanaian. I also lived in Canada where there are no snakes. I like to grow that of the srubs that ward off snakes. I don't like those creatures at all. How can I get some of the plant in my yard in Ghana to ward of snakes. How can i contact you please?

That plant to keep snakes away is called Oregano. It’s great for stomach aches.
You could also use it for poultry, fish and pork

Hi Jasmine let that beautiful young lady know that the plant that she is growing as a snake replent is actually called broad leaf thyme you seanon your meats and fish with it and any other food that you like. You can chop it up, grinf it and just season your food with it. Delicious, I am living in Toronto. Canada and I wish if I had access to some of her fresh veggies right now😀
