Where I am we have lakes with perch which are easy to catch. But, since I was a kid (79 now) we always released them back because they were considered junk fish and we were after bigger, fighting fish. So, I wonder if the taste is different between ocean and lake perch. Maybe we should be cleaning and eating those perch.
Yes it’s a lot different. The lake perch meat are much more firm than the ocean perch. Thank you for taking the time to watch 🙏
I prefer ocean perch because they are a lot cleaner than lake perch

What setup do you use ? Rod, reel, lbs line ?
I’m using a 11.5 foot Fenwick rod and my reel is a 3500 proberos salt water spinning reel with a 15lb test mono line
