You should remove the oil filter cap and oil cap before draining the oil as the filter housing holds some oil as well.

A lot of people don’t know this and they half change their oil

No one ever mentions this but the owner's manual specifies the type of oil for this car to be BMW LongLife01 rating which is found listed on certain Euro formula oils. Liqui Moly, Valvoline, Castrol.

I said the same thing in nour video you have to take off the oil cap and loosen the oil filter cap before draining the oil. The oil filter housing holds oil so you’re not draining all of the oil out of the engine and you end up technically overfilling the engine when you put 7 quarts of oil in it on top of what’s left in the oil filter housing.

If you notice after you drained the oil and tightened up the drain plug when you went to change the filter the oil filter housing was full of old oil

That oil drain pan you got sucked for me, it had the oil splattering everywhere and the cap on the side didn’t wanna screw shut. It was a mess.

I never seen any of these how to change your oil on an F30 3.0t car mention that the oil filter housing area has a pool of oil in it that also needs to be removed. I use my top oil change can to suck this excess oil out of the top end.

Does anyone know if it’s safe to run 5w-40 in cold weather conditions in an n55?

Just run 5w-30 in colder weathers when it’s warm you can run 0w-30 or Mobil 1 0w-40

@@crisl9518 you’re 100% correct but typically 5w-30 is excellent in cold weather. The reason I said to run 0w-30 or 0w-40 is because that’s what Bmw recommends to use

By any chance did you use a UV Flashlight to take advantage of the fluorescent motor oil to spot oil leaks in your engine bay?

The car has to be straight to have all the oil drain out the car and at least let it drip out for 10 minutes at least ✌️
