  • This videos shows how well the Kobalt bolt extractors work to remove some very rusted-out Toyota exhaust nuts. The extractor did very well, even though these Toyota nuts are pinch/lock nuts. For $16, I think this kit is worth the price.

This woman is a damn good mechanic. This is why I think woman would make great mechanics because they’re a lot more patient than most men and their attention to detail is much better

Great video! You always do in depth reviews. I first saw a set of these style sockets two decades ago at Sears Hardware. I thought to myself another Bob Vila bust your knuckles gimmick tool. I was quite mistaken as these bolt extractor sockets do work as intended.

Haha, Bob Vila and Sears - that's taking me back some! I can't speak for all of them, but this particular set works quite well for the price - as long as it can be hammered on.
It's funny that you mention Sears - I was searching for online for documents for an old Craftsman air compressor, and I came across some of the old Craftsman tool catalogs. Here's an old Sears catalog from 1981, that's kinda neat to look through!

Was thinking air hammer with a long tip might right? Hit the extractor a few times to seat it good then crack it, looks like you came to the same conclusion with the manual hammer =). Great tip! I'll have to grab a pair of those bolt extractors.

Definitely - if I had to use this style socket on a larger/tighter fastener, I think your air hammer tip would certainly be wise, to really get the socket dug into the fastener! Thanks for watching and adding your tip! : )

Where do you work? I live in Denver area and would like to use you as my mechanic for my Mercedes M113 engine.

I don't work for a shop - I'm just a shadetree with a big "family and friends fleets" that keeps me busy : )
If you're looking for an excellent MB mechanic in the south Denver metro, I can recommend Hoover Mercedes; he's an indy who does excellent work, and who really loves MB's (especially W163's!).
      Thanks for watching!

@@L35inColorado I was impressed with your knowledge of the M113 engine. I have that engine in my 2000 SL500. I have a shop that does work that I can’t handle. I wish you were available but I understand your situation.
