How that last one did not corkscrew onto it's roof I will NEVER know. That was amazing Jeff. Now me, smart aleck that I am, I would NOT have been able to resist telling the guy, "Hey, You can't park there!"
Driving in the mountains can be difficult under the best conditions, and nearly impossible in winter. If you are unsure of your car or your abilities, just stay at a hotel. You can still enjoy Gatlinburg in the winter time at the bottom of the mountain, then on top in a ditch. Also, Jeff, awesome job, you have one of the best customer service approach to your industry and your dedication shows in every video you produce. Don't let the naysayers get you down.
*ONE THING* I've wondered about is why there's no use of dampeners on the winch cables. Here in Australia they're pretty standard because you don't want to be standing near a winch cable that snaps and turns into a deadly projectile. And being a towie would mean you're at much higher risk than the average Joe.
Holy cow! I remember well the Christmases of 1982-'83, and 1992. In '82-'83, we left North Central Florida when it was 70 degrees, we got to Lake City and it was 30 degrees, by the time we reached Columbus, GA, it was 14 degrees, and when we got to Birmingham, it was 7 degrees with a well-below zero wind chill factor. When we reached areas of Northern, AL, there was packed snow, iced over by freezing rain and by the time we reached Memphis,(west side) there was only one lane of I-40 open and the shoulders were solid ribbons of ice. Then, in 1992, there was only ice from Little Rock west to Conway, AR, but that 35 miles between Little Rock and Conway took 3.5 hours. Yes, the interstate highways are great, but there are still lots of ditches and ravines where a car could easily crash, and although not as mountainous as Tennessee, you could only pray that you could get enough traction to stop and avoid hitting the vehicle in front of you, and that the buy behind you could also stop when traffic went to an absolute standstill. One year it was snowing in Alabama, and the song "Christmas in Dixie" was playing on the radio. It was a very wet snow, and the ground wasn't cold enough for it to stick, but man oh man, it makes for miserable driving conditions. Glad you all escaped from those roads without a serious accident and injury! God bless you folks and keep you safe.
You all is incredible! Your generosity and willingness to go out of your way to help Anyone goes above & beyond!! Big “BUT” here…because you’re in a mountainous, hilly, narrow road area- you have to remember that some of the people who are there come from places with little to no snow and low temps along with icy rains!!!!! They haven’t got a clue on how to drive these conditions and a lack of common sense along with it- put it all together and that spells “Tow needed”…Then you need to put your “ Can and/or Should we attempt that” hat. We all know that you want to give 100% - All The Time. Yes- you know the roads really well. Yes- you have a Big “Twuck” and ya know how to use it. But, in my comfy recliner at home in Virginia…( and being raised in NY)- I know how to get around in snow. I see that some folks really didn’t know how treacherous it was to vacation in gorgeous Tennessee. Got it. But someone please explain to me what the people with a little sedan, no bad weather driving experience, trying to climb up to their vacation cabin….we’re thinking! You all are helping so many people in distress, and giving to those in need- please watch yourselves out there, stay safe, try to say “no” to crazy drivers’ demands, and goodness sake- don’t take crap from anyone!! 👋🏻❄️🌬️⛈️🚙🆘
I’ve worked for a tow company that ran at least 100 miles both directions of where there big shop was Wright along the interstate also!! I remember the worst one we had to do was a full size semi and trailer over loaded with dimensional lumber rough cut so 2x4 was not 1”1/2”d3”1/2” it was the full 2” by 4” and they had all different sizes of lumber on it up to 2”x14”x30’ long with some!! The semi driver was getting off at a rest area that had a big horse shoe turn and the trailer rolled off the edge of the ramp and only two ratchet straps had broken so all the lumber was just hanging from the trailer with the trailer laying on its side!!! We ended up having to cut the straps and ended up pulling the semi out and then the trailer!! Of course we ended up spending a whole day with a really big tracked skid loader to pick up what we could with some of the pieces of lumber that was shorter but then trying to get the long pieces of lumber up the bank with the skid loader and not have the pieces of lumber falling off the forks got kinda tricky also!!! We did end up spending two days on the clean up but the second day across the interstate on the opposite side of where the rest area was there was a farm house that the Amish lived at and they just happened to show up on the second day when we was picking up all the sticks and they came over and didn’t even say a word and just started to help us get everything picked up!! We ended up giving each one that came over to help a hundred dollars and they actually would not except it at first but I definitely insisted that they take it for helping get the area cleaned up and so that the rest area could be opened back up!!! If I remember there was 5 or 6 of them that helped and they definitely helped speed the process up also!!! We did end up also using a couple 3” ratchet straps to help tie the pieces of wood down to the skid loader to help them from sliding off the forks also!!! I also remember a big dually ford pickup truck pulling a 45’ camper that ended up going off the road and the camper just literally blew apart into a bunch of small pieces as it had hit the bank when going off the road!!! The guy had also said he lost his wallet when he was trying to crawl out of the ditch and helping his wife up and out of the ditch!!! We was able to find his wallet with in the first 15 to 20 minutes because we figured that if it was lost after the damage was all done then it should be out on top of all the millions of pieces of camper that had shattered everywhere!!!! Both of those accidents everyone was not hurt but the two driving the truck and camper did get checked out by paramedics to make sure they was ok and they was but they was definitely sore the next morning they had said!!!
What frustrates me is that I can't give two or three thumbs up on some of you videos! I hope the kids in this video remember this event as an adventure with TOYS instead of a bad event!
When I see a particularly uplifting video I share it with my children and grandchildren and ask them to give it a thumbs up, even if they don't watch it. It takes them 5 seconds.
I don't think some people realize how bad some of the roads are unless you are actually there. As you said you may get them out but where will they go ? And you can't risk your vehicle getting stuck. Great job guys love you
Jeff, we've rented cabins during winter months several times. Each rental agreement has a snow/ice/winter weather clause that says the owner is not responsible for road conditions or access to the cabins. We ran into the ditch and got stuck. Fortunately people came behind us with pick axes and salt!
The state or national forest needs to put heavy steel safety rails up to help prevent people from going over the ravine. And they really need to make it one way since that road is so narrow and dangerous for two lanes.
Hello y’all since happening upon your channel on RUclips I can’t quit watching!!! When I get up in the morning my tv goes on Everything Autos and it’s on all day till I turn it off at bedtime!!! I tell everybody that goes to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge if you’re not paying to park your doing something illegal!!! Thank Y’all and keep up the good work!!!
You had a few lucky people in this video. Both had the potential to have lots of damage and possible injuries. Glad everyone was alright. Good call with the children, turning a bad into something exciting.
I love when we recognize a spot where we've been, again! At 19:48, the "Heaven's Garden" cabin on the left, where we've stayed twice before. Great jobs in difficult conditions, both times. Stay safe out there!
I definitely do not mind the snow for sure!! Actually snow can give a person some traction!! I push lots of snow when we get snow in Iowa and when I go out pushing snow I am out for anywhere from 15 hours to 20 hours straight pushing snow!!! Now when there is ice I sit my ass at home for sure!!! Ice is definitely not forgiving like snow is for sure!!! Just saying people when they’re is ice you should definitely not be out trying to drive on the ice and if you do you are most likely by yourself!!!
Seriously- with them getting calls at all times of the night. I remember one where Jeff said something like “Well ma’am, it’s 3:30 in the morning.” 🤯😡🤬
I saw the title of this video and thought: Holy winch straps, Batman. You already own a tow company. Why in the H-E-double-hockey-sticks would you go and buy a hotel? I'm really glad my brain started working again by the time I got to the end of the video.
Every car should come with a built in attachment point that folds out from the top down of the front and back bumper, that way it can be attached without digging out mud and snow.
Heyy Jeff, Kristen, Kendra and Colvin Y'all definitely had your work cut out for ya with all the vehicles that were in the ditch or didn't have enough traction to move on their own, People really need to learn to stock up on essentials before the storm hits or find a place to park out of the way so emergency crews can get their work done, and then there's the idjits who just have to be out and about for absolutely no reason at all other than to be idjits and causing accidents to happen Y'all make a great team, keep up the great work and heyy Mizz Debbie

Countless times when watching EA videos I've been impressed and amazed by the recoveries in nasty weather. Keep up the great work EA Team. By the way Jeff, how's the finger doing? Stay safe guys!
I bet the tow trucks are busy in my city today. It rained and then turned to ice. Everything is so polished. Then today we got a few inches of snow. I fell a couple times outside. The Amazon driver said he fell 4 times today. -Saskatoon Sk
I just can’t get over how U2 work so well together. The things you do and how you get the cars and trucks out of things. I don’t know you’re just so good and you’re such an awesome couple keep up the good work really enjoy your videos and be very careful out there.!!!!
I know in some of our previous rentals there. Some of our agreements said, what kind of vehicle that we'd need to get up to our rental and that they weren't responsible in the event that the weather was bad.
It seems like with the way the roads were, you're like first call, nope. Next call, not even for a million dollars, next call, you're where? Then a call, oh you're a hundred yards from me now, let me put a tow rope on the winch line and I'll walk it over to ya. Those roads are such a challenge. The ice and snow, us northerners don't even blink at but with an inch to the right with a 100 foot drop and to the left, 5 feet to a creek, it's another world.
Jeff, that was definitely one tuff little Chevrolet, I thought for sure it would had been undriveable. I hope the family with children got to enjoy their trip. Jeff and Kristen awesome job 👍🏻. From Kentucky 😊.
Jeff and Kristen on the tows in bad weather there's 2 things you live by your safety and the safety of the customer if they're in and warm they can wait til roads are drivable. I don't know wha takes care of the mountain roads but I've driven everything and I wouldn't take a pickup with a saltspreader up in the hills let alone a 1 ton or 2 ton truck that'll make the cheeks pucker. Stay Safe guys🇺🇸👍
I would Not rent a cabin, plum up & around & away from everyone else!! My thoughts, “What if there’s a medical emergency, or what if we need you guys to rescue us?” And Thank God you make these kids think about something besides where they’re at!! 😮
I am stunned that that little grey Chevy was able to drive away. I was sure that y'all were going to have to destroy it to get it out of that creek. Amazing work, guys!
You should check to see if they make auto chains for your wreckers. I custom fit a set that I got off of a school bus and put them on my Chevy C60 Medium duty wrecker years ago. It sure was nice to be able to just flip a switch and be chained up.
Note to self... stay away from the hilly, steep places of Gatlinburg in the snowy, icy winter. Years ago, one of my employees was on his honeymoon at one of those Gatlinburg cabins. They got a huge snow while there, and the cabin-rental owner had to let them extend their stay a couple days till the roads were cleared. The owner gave them 2 extra nights for free as a wedding gift.
Another fine video from your friends at the Everything Autos University of Towing, Recovery and Public Relations! Great job as always, guys! Thanks for sharing and stay safe out there!
The snow is so beautiful in the mountains! It was unfortunate that there were no microphones for the 2nd half of this video to hear any of what was going on.
Gosh I love my home state and your videos make me home sick all the time, lol. I sure don't mis those roads in the hills in bad weather. Unless you have visited TN you have no clue about all the hills and turns until you get there and drive on them. But it sure is pretty up there. Yall be safe and Thanks for posting the beauty of TN each video.
Well the thing is, if you are having difficulty even reaching them, even with chains on all 4 corners, then how are they going to get anywhere IF you actually get them out of the ditch/driveway/whatever. We are lucky I guess down here in Atlanta area that we don't get much icy stuff but a "funny" here is the folks that move here from up North don't know how to drive on what we do get, and no, it's not like up North because what thaws during the day freezes back into an ice sheet instead of just packed snow. Some adventuresome folks down here DO go out and luckily(?) the guys with 4WD trucks and chains will pull them out (if THEY don't get stuck, yeah, that has happened too) Bottom line as you said Jeff, SAFETY is the key word there, what good does it do anyone if yall slide off the road too
Awesome job as always! Y’all’s videos are amazing! Just started watching 2 weeks ago! My nights always end with watching! Hope to meet y’all in August! Keep up the amazing job Jeff and Kristen
@@jdjd962 we are hour and a half to two hours away….several insurance company’s called for winch out. And people that google that can’t read the address lol but mostly rollback calls
If you ever wanted to expand your business you could open a small motel to give these “change of plans” people somewhere to stay when their airbnb falls through!
That place should definitely repay them for the tow AND give them the money back for the stay! They know the roads but they still choose to rent these places out of greed instead of erring on the side of caution for their customers safety! Y’all made those boys nightmare turn into a fun memory. Y’all are a blessing! God bless you 🙏🏻
36:28 Look at how little tread is left on those tires. Then they traveled in those conditions on that road? They got lucky only getting stuck in a ditch was what happened.
“Coming down always gets you,” is so true. If you do any hiking, you know going up is much easier than going down.
Those little boys were so cute, the excitement of getting toys took their minds off the scary situation.
Have you ever had someone forget to bring the keys with them for the pick up?
I feel like that would happen… probably to me. 😂😂😂

Y'all definitely had your work cut out for ya with all the vehicles that were in the ditch or didn't have enough traction to move on their own,
People really need to learn to stock up on essentials before the storm hits or find a place to park out of the way so emergency crews can get their work done, and then there's the idjits who just have to be out and about for absolutely no reason at all other than to be idjits and causing accidents to happen

Nice work EA team. 🙏💕🙏👍👍👍
Great job
Wonderful job my friend 🪝🪝🪝
Awesome winch outs guys. You all are amazing, have I said that before?? LOL. Stay safe out there.
That was absolutely amazing!!
Greetings from North Carolina Jeff, Kristen, and Kendra!
Hi guys ❤ keep on being you 🎉
Love to watch your videos you&your wife are awesome
Great job ❤❤
HEY! Hello Jeff and Kristen!!
Congrats guys! Tell us more about your Hotel, so cool!!
Some adventuresome folks down here DO go out and luckily(?) the guys with 4WD trucks and chains will pull them out (if THEY don't get stuck, yeah, that has happened too) Bottom line as you said Jeff, SAFETY is the key word there, what good does it do anyone if yall slide off the road too
Another great video! What day was this? Thanks for putting out videos that anyone can watch. Be safe!!!
Oh and a mic for Kristen to ease the work for Kendra
Looks like you both have flashing hats 😂😂 😂😂 A new item for the merchandise store?
Great video as usual! Be safe!
I’m surprised that last one didn’t set off his airbags, that had to be one hard landing.
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
Awesome job as always! Y’all’s videos are amazing! Just started watching 2 weeks ago! My nights always end with watching! Hope to meet y’all in August! Keep up the amazing job Jeff and Kristen
I had several call us from gatlinburg tryin to get me to come from loudon lol long week of winching on the ice lol
How far away is that??? And was it for heavy or flat???
@@jdjd962 we are hour and a half to two hours away….several insurance company’s called for winch out. And people that google that can’t read the address lol but mostly rollback calls
If you ever wanted to expand your business you could open a small motel to give these “change of plans” people somewhere to stay when their airbnb falls through!
OMG, that view at 21:00, beautiful and dangerous at the same time
A lot of nature is like that, isn’t it?
The safe the better better be safe than sorry
That place should definitely repay them for the tow AND give them the money back for the stay! They know the roads but they still choose to rent these places out of greed instead of erring on the side of caution for their customers safety! Y’all made those boys nightmare turn into a fun memory. Y’all are a blessing! God bless you 🙏🏻
Have you thought about putting Auto Chains on your truck? They are great, flip a switch and go, and never have to get out of the truck.
36:28 Look at how little tread is left on those tires. Then they traveled in those conditions on that road? They got lucky only getting stuck in a ditch was what happened.
