Love this Band . I heard them years back. And had to check them out . They were in Fargo ND back up for Dirt Bentley.Amazing . One of my very favorite band . Later years They changed to Cody Canada and the Departed. .Saw them in mills know so First Ave. God they were good. Love southern rock and they know how to Kick Ass playing it .The Best
I remember hearing about these guys in those days, but i was all about Texas Country at the time (Pat Green, Robert Earl Keene, Jack Ingram, Charlie Robison, etc), but I'm glad to have circled back around to these guys. Much love to our Okie kinfolk.
This video really takes me back. This was back in the day when College Station was really in its golden age back before Northgate became a rundown shithole and then got bought out by financial interests that were all about profit and killed the music. This was back back when what used to be Daisy Duke’s was Shadow Canyon. Between the Canyon, Harry’s, and the Tap, you could pretty much always catch a badass show back when I was still selling pot to my friends who worked at these places to get in without a minor stamp so I could actually drink. Probably would get thrown in jail so fast today it would make your head spin. I don’t know where you dug this up but thank you. It really brought a smile to my face. I didn’t catch this one but I saw Ragweed 2x on northgate back in their prime and caught countless others. I’m convinced the women were 10x hotter back then too.
Watching Cody's trusty grey PRS get more and more worn with age is weirdly comforting. I've never seen a guitarist more dedicated to a single instrument and I assume it holds more history and sentimental value to him than I can even conceive. Never was intended to be flashy, just a high quality workhorse that does its job consistently and ages so nicely
Been a Ragweed fan for 20 years. I've always known that Plato was a good Bass player. Man o Man, the dude is a Beast on that there Bass. On the albums his bass is blended in with rest. Which it should be. You really hear just how good he is Live in Concert.
Why couldn’t I have been like 22 in this era? This looks like such a blast. I’m 20 now and been on a red dirt/texas kick since freshman year of HS, and finding great bands like this daily.
@@matthewendrizzi6958 thanks for the heads up on these band members carrien on their sound & great voice, in one screwed up lifetime of miss-music country style. Wyoming bred
I've been to a ton of shows and a few festivals and seen ragweed like six times and nobody got me in to a show like they did. Its one of the rare occasions when the vocalist/lead can pass off to the drummer or bassist and its just as awe inspiring, and all of em together, the rhythm.. they were good. And the lyrics. Nom nom.
Just got turned on to this BadAss band, thanks for all the soul felt grooves. Now I listen to yous on my spare time! Lov them ALL. From Wyoming with country roots that run Deep♡☆♡
Man this was when I was in college! Doesn’t seem like that long ago🙈 I’ve seen every one of these guys in concert over the year’s! Everyone of them are top notch guys! Boland used to be crazy back when he was drinking really really heavy! He was in bad shape and glad he went to rehab in 2006 and he’s been sober ever since. Struggling myself and it’s good to know there’s always someone else that has the same problem as bad or worse than you and they made it through it all!
One of my favorite bands Got to hang out with them a few times too Super nice guys. Cody and Randy were just fantastic people And they turned me on to Reckless Kelly!
Flew to Nashville to watch them open for my buddy Pete Evick, who plays in the Bret Micheals Band - Who opened for Skynyrd at the (now demolished) Starwood Amphitheater.
I Love these Country Boys! If any of Y'all are City Gals, ya need to find yourselves one too! & Just hug&kiss 'em & never let go! Ya really can't beat 'em! They're for keeps!✌😘
Jk. Kansas. 11 14 23. Originally saw them back home in Hailey, Idaho. Bruce Willis bar the Mint. One of top 5 epic musical performances I've seen. Love these guys! 🎉😊
I've seen Ragweed live 4/5 time's, this was & still is one of my favorite bands, I was bummed when they departed, get it ? But hey we got this right on? 🍻
they were a great band. I love the rawness of their sound and their country rock gendre. I just wish the writing was little stronger. Simple songs with an edge.
Cope. CCR is Creedence but the boys from Oklahoma answered to it and I guarantee you that if you referenced “CCR” back in 2004 in Texas there wasn’t a soul who didn’t know you were talking about Ragweed.

More info!
@@angusmcdugal1 Stillwater on April 12th with Turnpike, Jason Boland, Great Divide, and Stoney LaRue!
Maybe Cody learned a lesson here It's about the band more than the individuuals themselves😊😊
I would give anything to hear the: funky bass flingin, guitar slingin, whiskey steeped singin, Cross Canadian Ragweed LIVE >>>>>>> ONE MORE TIME
Go to a Departed show. They play a lot of the old stuff and Cody has his voice back. It’s killer.
Me too
They were amazing in concert I saw them close to 10 times when they use to sing in California
We might be getting a chance
@@jasonwright6892 I’m on the edge of my seat
This Boys from Oklahoma version is the greatest of all time

Bass player is straight up BADASS- and playin a 6 string Bass- dont see that every day
Jeremy Plato. He’s pretty badass. Still plays with Cody in their band (Cody Canada and the Departed).
Bass is killing it in this concert.
Without Jeremy Plato, there might not be a Cody Canada....Jeremy taught Cody how to play the guitar...Then Cody just took it to another universe! 🤘🎸🔥
Soul Gravy is one of my favorite albums! Great video, thank you!

You're always 17 in your home town until you're 30 with 4 kids from two different women and are sitting in county lol
