Thank you Ed for sharing your skills on this topic. Short brief and precise! Going through the process is pure talent. I appreciate this lesson instead of a short cut thru a LUT. You got me as a subscriber.
+bajigurwedangronde Yay.. i am so happy i managed to help you boost colors in you photography. lightroom is pretty amazing at that especially if you use some of the tips I give in their lightroom video tutorial. Good luck. Would you say you were a lightroom beginner, intermediate or pro?
+Photos In Color Thanks Ed, I agree that Lightroom is quite powerful as a post processing and color enhancing tool. I am just an amateur but I'm quite comfortable using Lightroom, so I think I belong in the intermediate category :) Thanks!
I would've stopped at 6:15 - the reds and greens curves adjustment introduced a rather weird tint, and the last graduated filter looks artificial. Great tutorial though.
This is Manarola, Italy. Just come back from that place and I found this video extremely useful to proper edit my shoots! The trick of the brush tool is fabulous for making the houses' color really rich! Great tutorial!
i think there's nothing wrong with the pictures at all, yes people are going to have different views on it, it looks alot better than before , hes done a good job, no one will do it this way 100% because everyone is different and its your own work so you do what you think looks best at this is just a guide/tutorial of how to bring those colors out to help everyone understand whats going on here, ive been following ed for a while and ive learnt alot from his videos, keep em coming thanks!
Great way to uncover how the picture looks to our eyes. I love how you discussed the different tools that we can use since I can apply them to other pictures with different characteristics.
+Maria Murillo I really am a fan of creating the feeling that we felt when we took the photo. Showing a level of intensity without ruining the image. I'm happy you are learning from my Lightroom editing techniques.
my pleasure. Once you master Lightroom you will see that all photos will go through lightroom and photoshop will only be used for specific edits. I think you will love it.
Ed, you're simply amazing, this edit got me to the edge of my chair, was absolutely amazed by how u transformed it. Theres soo much i can learn from your tutorials
+Mike Dorion Tell me about it. i have been using it for years and even making these videos I am finding out new little gems around every corner. I am happy your a still able to learn from my lightroom tutorials. Happy editing
Thank you so much. Sometimes we have to work on a photo to recreate the colors we saw of felt when were were there. Happy you enjoyed this lightroom editing tutorial. i love this place. I would love to go in winter.
At the very end of the tutorial I started to think you weren't going to add more saturation to the sky, but you did, and that final touch sealed it! Nice job, as always! (Your marshall arts dance was actually an ocean view dance. 😂)
Hehehehe ocean view dance, thats pretty funny. I really should practice before I hit record. hehehehehehe. happy you enjoyed this lightroom color tutorial. Lots to learn in this powerful programme.
I honestly think your lightroom tuts r best around here, thank god i found your channel, have gathered many compliments using your tricks and methods.. Thanks again bro.
I am so happy you are enjoying my lightroom 6 tutorial series. I am doing my best to create the best lightroom tutorials for beginners and advance users. it means a lot to receive your complements, really it does. thank you so much.. Happy editing.
Your tutorials are really interesting! Learned so much from your Lightroom series. I don't really know how you are able to decide what to do when you first look at a photo but I assume that takes some experience to get
Love your tutorials. Production quality is superb! Watching you work on this picture I couldn't tell if there is a systematic approach or pattern to doing these changes beyond knowing exactly what you want and knowing the controls well,
SO happy you are enjoying my Lightroom C tutorials. I love this one all about color editing and color enhancement in Lightroom. For me lightroom kind of comes as instinct now. I have been using it for a very long time and have edited literally thousands of photos. probably hundreds of thousands. But i do have a system and Adobe has kind of does it for us, just follow the panels. I often leave the tone curve to a little later though. That said it all starts with story for me. I think about what i want the final image to be, i don't just randomly move sliders to see what will happen. Practice practise practise. You many like my pre editing tips video as I speak about some of these things there. ruclips.net/video/Ix4xxNI_UTI/видео.html
+RonHui I am trying to keep my tutorials easy to digest and also don't want to bore people too much. Happy you are liking my lightroom tutorials and thank you for your support.
one again, brilliant Ed. I notice you don't touch the AUTO button... any reason? (other than YOU don't need to) Also you don't really touch the exposure to pull it back. :)
+Philip Beckwith I very rarely use auto as I really enjoy getting the look and feel from the photo that is in my head. using the auto puts ideas in my head and in using it in the past it very rarely did anything that i liked so i just keep away from it. Also i will use exposure sometimes but i try my best to always correctly expose an image when i shoot it but i do use it from time to time when necisery. happy you liked this lightroom edit
that was probably simple to you but that was an amazing and well explained tutorial! I'm new to photo editing, I'm more of a videographer and editor... photography and image editing is sooo different! thanks for this tutorial :D
Excellent tutorial. I don't mind the fast pace (better than a longer video where I tend to doze off) since I can always watch parts of the video again to fully understand what was done.
That is such a wonderful way of thinking about photo editing. A vacation for the eyes. Thanks so much and hope you enjoy the rest of my lightroom training course.

That was Great. I have a very similar photo taken in Italy’s Almafi Coast with the the same problem. Photo came out a bit faded so now I’m going to try your technique except it wasn’t shot Raw.

+Martin Stephenson Thanks so much for the kind words and I hope you are able to use some of these lightroom color techniques in your photo edits. great series of tutorials Ed ... could you possibly look into dealing with 'Masking' in a future video please ?. It's something I've struggled to get to grips with in Lightroom thus far.
+Mike P So happy you are enjoying my complete lightrom training course for lightroom for beginners and lightroom for professionals. We are all still learning. Masking in lightroom is a tricky one as lightroom doesn't really do layers although the brush and gradient/radial files do kind of have that effect. I've had problem photos like that. This tutorial helped. Thanks.

Great edits, amazing what colour you can get back. Wouldn't have done the last graduated filter (on the sky), or not as dramatic. Subscribed!
Perfect as always , thumbs up!

Great Job. That is what I was looking for. Thank you.
Great video as always.
Question- Suppose I have a person in this video and I want to pop the color of the background but not the person. Thanks, mate, it's a great lesson, very well explained.

I think so.... i am very goofy sometimes.
Photos In Color hi guy first off just wanted to say thanks for all you're hard work with educating use on Lightroom and for being such an inspiration and amazing teacher. Great tutorials really enjoying them.
Hi Ed, Great video and well-produced, as usual. Would you be able to tell me what software do you use to make your videos? Thanks!
Unless i missed something, i think we cant do this trick of erasing masks in Lightroom 5 wich is sad considering the gain.
