Every time you say "it's cheap" my heart and pocket aches. It's not cheap at all for us.
it's cheap only if you don't buy in real lol
go to liberdade with 50 reais or less is so hard
Saudades demais.
Mano sim kkkk
Brazil has the largest population of italian descendents and Mooca is the most Italian place in São Paulo.
I really recommend...
I had no idea, that would have been great. Italy is my favorite country and people so that would have been amazing. We’ll try to go

It doesn't have the largest population of Italian ancestry, it is between the second and third largest, definitely behind the US and likely behind Argentina.
Little Japan in Brazil!
Definitely
@@TatianaGrodetskaya this is my girlfriend ;)
The Best beautiful, CITY SANTOS SP, Brazil.
Biggest japonese population outside Japan...
It's valid for basically all ethnicities of the world biggest italian population outside Italy, biggest polish community, germans are the second biggest community (right after US), russians, ukranians, dutch, arabs...
Brazil is the backup of the humanity.
Exatamente dono gringo
Actually, the first japanese group arrived at Santos Harbour in 1908 , in Kasato Maru ship
Quem legal adoro saber de história
Deve ser incrível
morar em São Paulo recebendo em dolar haha
Em qualquer lugar do Brasil
Brazil 🇧🇷 and Peru 🇵🇪 have the highest inmigration of Japanese in Latin America, Japanese descendant of 2º degree is called Nikkei (Japanese's children born in Peru); while in 3º degree Sansei (Grandchildren). The highest Latinos Communities in Japan are Brazilians and Peruvians, as well
That's very interesting!!!
@Gwynbleidd Alguém precisa de amigos
Well but Peru not even closed to Brazil, besides Peru people it's not nice they are little racist dont like thousands times Brazil mu gorgeous country 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇧🇷
Actually Brazil have the most japanese comunity outside Japan
São Paulo, is known as the biggest stronghold of the Japanese community in the Brazil, which in turn, houses the largest Japanese colony in the world outside of Japan.
I feel like you really respect our culture.
Thank you for that
Are you guys going to travel around Brazil?
Well, if you guys come to the center of Brazil, to visit the capital, I recomend to visit the magical place of Chapada dos Veadeiros =)
We will be traveling around Brazil for a while, so we will look into that 🙏🏻
@@TheTravelbum There are two entire cities in Brazil which was listed and recognized as a World heritage. So, they "stopped in the medieval time" visiting it feels like traveling straight to 1500. Its names are Diamantina and Ouro Preto
Concordo.
It's unfortunate you didn't get to see liberdade the way it is normally. On weekends the roads would be closed and the plaza near the metro would be packed with food vendors and artisan crafts. Worth another visit outside covid times.
Yeah that would be great to see. Too bad, I’m sure it’s much different now
I took pictures of my son and myself on that bridge you were walking, when we were there in November of 2018. I wish I could put those pictures here.
Excellent video and super interesting.
✊🏻 thank you
I'm gutted that I wasn't following your channel while you were in sao paulo, it would be a honour to tell you about my favourite places to visit
I recommend visiting the city of Manaus in the Amazon, it has a very hot climate, it has giant and exotic fruits. Cupuaçu, Guaraná, Açaí, graviola, pupunha, tambaqui (exotic fish), etc etc etc.

Too hot, too humid, nothing fun to see besides trees and monkeys

Liberdade is one of my fav neighbourhoods here. Though I live only 1 hours from it, mt boyfriend and I usually rent hotels/airbnb around there just for living the fantasy and appreciating the food, stores and the atmosphere.
Wow this is crazy! I'm from sao paulo and born and raised. I grew up going to liberdade every day to the point I moved abroad in 2015.
It is completely changed for you are showing me. So many new places
9:08 "We found out while talking to a local that it is not summer time yet in Brazil. It's actually spring". Yes, São Paulo is in the south hemisphere of the globe. The seasons here are the opposite of those in the north hemisphere. 😊
We thought it was already summer when we arrived
Awesome vids. Good work, guys. They brazilians comments about prices arent to be taken seriously as the vids aren't made for the brazilians audience. Yes, its cheap for those holding dollars, Euros or Pounds (my case). As for the locals, well... its what it is. A coffee over here in London is expensive £2.90 /$4.00/€3.30 /R$21.50. So yeah, Brazil is kinda cheap for some people. Cheers.
Im starting to watch now this series abt Brazil. Nice vídeos. I hope you guys have had a good time here.

I'm in Turkey right now. 3 weeks into a 6 week trip the government put all these restrictions on Restaurants and bars. They even removed the outdoor tables and chairs. Its kind of hard to eat when there is no place to sit down.
Oh wow good to know. We had a flight booked to Turkey and everything but had to cancel like two weeks before we left for Brazil to change it up. Apparently they weren’t granting visas to Americans anymore due to threats.

Try coming back to Brazil in July after quarantine. There's an annual festival called Festival do Japão (Japan Festival) where you can eat food from 43 differentes provinces in Japan.
My grandfather was born in Akita province, and in this festival you can eat our food and drink the best sake from Japan (I swear Akita's sake is the best!)

Guys, these things are not exactly cheap... but they seem to be cheap for someone carrying american dollars because we are facing some trouble with our currency right now due to the economics... so, Brazil has been one of the best places for tourists in a budget for some time now. I hope you enjoyed it here.

Hi, Brazilian here. Sao Paulo born and raised, but living in DC for almost a decade.
I get that the point of pointing out "how cheap" things are is only relevant when making such a comparison in dollar, but I believe that from a cultural standpoint, it is extremely important to highlight that SP is actually the most expensive city in Brazil. BRL12 for a cup of coffee is not something the average Paulista can afford, nor is BRL11 coconut water. These are gimmicky products made for tourists, similarly to the price increase in midtown NYC, if that makes sense.
I'm not sure how much of the comments you have bothered to translate so far, but the majority of Brazilians in this section are simply stunned by how often pricing is mentioned during this video. As a content creator, it'd be immensely helpful to perhaps acknowledge and point out that these products are absolutely NOT affordable, and the mere factor of being able to call it that is a privilege. Furthermore, I also slightly resent the fact neither of you have taken the time to do a quick research on Brazilian culture and what the cost of living and/or touristing through the city actually is before putting it on a public video meant to inform and perhaps encourage tourism in the area.
You have a lot of negative things to say, maybe look for something positive. You saw this video, but maybe you’ll see that we made about 100 videos in Brazil showing many parts of the country, tons of food, the culture, the everything. We worked with the tourism board of Parà. We travelled Brazil more extensively than probably any other tourists who didn’t become expats there.. obviously, many people have had very good things to say. Even all the companies and the tourism boards wanting to work with us.
You can try looking for the positive things people try to do. Not sniff out the particulars of each thing that we said was wrong or disturbing to you. We’re real people on this earth, not just “youtubers on a screen”.
Hey, my cousin lives in Mankato, Minnesota. We are originally from the northeast of Brazil.
Awesome, my brother went to college there. Mankato is great
Production comment: Is there anything you can do with the audio? The person closest to the camera comes in ok but the other person, just a few inches further back has a much lower and slightly muffled drop in volume. I don't remember that with the Peru videos. Otherwise, great job in capturing the feel for the areas that you are exploring!!! Don't forget the advice from Hello Kitty "Obrigatório o uso de máscara!"
Unfortunately we have to use the GoPro while in the big cities here which is why the quality dropped a bit but we can’t risk losing Alex’s new camera. Hoping to use it once we go to safer areas
That's more than understandable! While watching the video, I was wondering how conspicuous the camera was while walking around. I kept thinking that you guys should be just using your phone for video in the big city areas. Stay safe! Like everyone else, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your adventure!
I trust BUSY Street Food vendors more than restaurants because I can see what they are doing.
That’s how I feel ✊🏻
