As a japanese descendent from a family that lives in São Paulo i feel so touched and represented by this short documentary ❤️❤️ my family, the Kobayashi family has settled in Liberdade (neighborhood at 9:15) about 100 years ago and never left. Coincidentally enough, my parents met each other at Bar do Luiz, the boteco (street bar) that you went in the end of the vídeo. This makes it one of my favourite documentaries ever! 😅 Interesting fact: The man that shows at Mercadão (Municipal Market) at 16:40 is a very influential italian that came to Brazil after WWII, from a very humble beginning, even having nothing to eat some days, to working it's way to being one of the riches families in the city. Levi owns not only that shop you see in the video, but also many real state and other markets scattered across São Paulo. I had the luck to meet him in person, he's always so kind to everybody, even strangers, it makes you want to hug him. Also 19:25 some people don't like to call the beverage coverage "camisinha" (condom) for being too sexual, so they just say "capa" (cape) or "capinha" (little cape) and most boteco's beverages come with it because despite being simple it keeps the beer cold for way longer than it would without it. Thanks for uploading this ❤❤❤ you'll be always welcome in SP!
Nooosaaa!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

How do Brazilians feel about the government blocking the social media platform X ? What percentage of the population use it ? Are most Brazilians on Instagram ? TikTok ? RUclips ?
@@tudormiller887 Most Brazillians are eighter on Tiktok, Instagram or Facebook for the older folks. Twitter is not as relevant even though it is a considerable usar base. Some are pissed depending on their political leaning. Me and most of my friends are only on Instagram or Tiktok I dont know many people that were active on Twitter tbh. Lucky for you, I am actualy a lawyer here in Brazil, so if you are interested I can further explain to you what the deal is, it may get a bit lenghty but I would love to explain it to you to dispell Some missunderstandings that are being spread both Internationaly and even here in Brazil. The thing is that social media blocking is kinda usual in Brazil, WhatsApp and Telegram have been blocked multiple times for the same reason as Twitter. Some of the International media seams to spin the block as a political move when in fact it is not if you are looking at things from a strictly legal point of view. (Whatsapp and Telegram were fined because they refused to divulge information about messages being exchanged in criminal cases, they refused to pay these fines and stated that they do not divulge this kind of info based on their terms of service, they had no legal council here so they could not be billed these fines, so they got their services blocked untill they appointed one. They did appoint legal council a couple of days later, país the fines, gave the info and got back up and running 24 hours later). Many times social media have refused to abide by our national laws and regulations (most of the times when it comes to secrecy when involving investigation in legal cases, but with Twitter the problem is that the they were not complying with Electoral judges decisions hence the political tone things got...) Brazil has a judicial system much like all other democratic western countries in principle, there are multiple "levels" of justice should anyone appeal on a courts decision... So there are actualy 2 levels of justice at the state level. And 2 more at a federal level. (Judge Alexandre is in the highest level, and thus only acts in cases that have already been judged by his lower level peers). Paralel to that, there are electoral courts that follow this very same structure and are made up of randomized judges and they change every 2 years. These courts only act on cases that regard ellectoral disputes and have less burocracy attached to them in general. That is by design, because this way they have much less cases to work on and can do their jobs quickly before any one candidate gets their seat if they did something that is against our electoral fair play, to avoid situations where they are ellected but later are potentialy removed from office because the court has judged them guilty of unfair play during their campaigns. (Situations like these are very harmfull for the public in general for a number of reasons, hence why its important for these courts to act quickly before the damage is done). So you see, these decisions to take down certain profiles for the spread of missinformation were not taken solely by judge Alexandre, he was only the last judge to sign off on other judges decisions because they were apealed to the last instances of electoral justice in 2022. He is a supreme court judge afterall, but before anything went into his hands all these cases went through ALL our lower courts. The supreme electoral court at the time voted to block certain Twitter accounts because they spread blatant acusations or missinformation without any kind of semi credible proof (wich has always been a big nono during the political legal campaign period which lasts 4 or so months legaly, I cant remember exactely). So after all this, Elon was notified that he must take down these accounts and yet he didnt do it. He was fined multiple times (pocket change for him really) because he disregarded this decision. In an attempt to avoid paying these fines Elon decided to close his operation in Brazil, meaning the service was still active but that he had no people here to represent Twitter, criticaly meaning he has no liason or legal representation to be billed for these fines. (Obviously when I say Elon did this or that, Its not actualy Elon that does these things, Its his legal representative/council that actualy does it). If he has no legal presence in Brazil, then it is impossible to legaly interact with him, and in such cases our law demands that services are to be terminated untill he appoints a legal council. This was also the case with Whatsapp and Telegram for a few days before they did just that and apointed a legal council. The current situation is in Elons hand, the moment he appoints a legal council Twitter is back up for sure. But if he does that then he will have to pay his fines. In order to justify himself to the International media he spins this story about political censorship and whatever, when in fact its all about money. He doesnt want to spend money on a dedicated Brazil team to comply with our ellection laws every 2 or so years (besides the fact that he doesnt like them in principle, but thats irrelevant realy) Meta does it and they are fine. There is no widespread censorship, this is the case only in this 4 month period before ellections, much like many other laws here that state for example that it is prohibited to sell alchohool nationwide on ellection day. These are our laws full stop, and they always have been. Many foreign companies try to ignore or circumvent them, blocking these services is our tool to make them comply. I belive most Brazillians dont care about Twitter, even those on the far right, they may complain about the "ban" (which is actualy a temporary block that would be lifted as soon as Elon apoints a formal legal representation) because the user base of Twitter here has always been relatively low compared to other social media. I hope I did a decent job of explaining it to you and answering your question, this is kinda complex, especialy for a foregner, sorry for the broken english and huge reply.
@@tudormiller887It is not the most popular social media in Brazil. And the majority of people who use it are more upset with Elon for not complying with local rules than with Brazilian justice.

That's the best video I've ever seen showing the city and reality of São Paulo, it's amazing! As a citzen of São Paulo, thank you for this masterpiece!
11:20, you almost made me shed a tear. I'm from São Paulo, born and raised and I've been living abroad for nearly 2 years. The bar you're at is actually in São Joaquim, which is the neighborhood next door to Liberdade where the actual japanese now live. I used to train Kyokushin at this neighborhood and celebrate after our practices and championships on those bars! This video truly made me homesick, but also reminded me why I went away. São Paulo is amazing to visit, it's hell to live in.
Thank you so much for this video ❤ I wanted some recent footage and commentary on the culture and life of this city. I’d love to visit after I learn Portuguese because as a Mexican American I wasn’t taught Spanish at birth and learned it through schooling, even though I understand a lot of Spanish now and can actually communicate with my family now I still yearn to travel beyond and I think Portuguese would be so fun to learn ^^ much love 🌐🩵 you captured all the amazing moments

São Paulo is a fantastic city. With modern and contemporary architecture, as well as incredible cuisine. Football and lots of bar and music options at night.
A reportagem é ótima! Valeu! É nóis!

Amazing! As a São Paulo cityzen the way that foreigners see our way of life and enjoyness is completely awesome, because everything about our city is so normal to daylife. My case, I worked at Liberdade for about two years and never go there to enjoy and chill. Not everyone in the city lives like the way that video shows, specially the ones that are located in other regions os the city that we called "zonas", which are based on geographically location of your neighborhood. Videos about these "zonas" would increase the culture of São Paulo, like a secret city in the city.

You did my culture justice, girl! What a great video... all the fun without sugarcoating the gritty bits. Thank you for this :) Obrigada!
That's the best video I've ever seen showing the city and reality of São Paulo, it's amazing! As a citzen of São Paulo, thank you for this masterpiece!
Wow, thank you! We really loved the city and can't wait to go back :)
Why is this channel so unknown? This is a high-level production... I loved the videos
Thank you! 🙏
I live abroad as well. And it also brought me tears. Sao Paulo is just the most vibrant city I have been. I miss this place so much
Oh my god! I am the lady inside a taxi on the video!!!! So funny! I came to watch this video and find myself
Good
hahaha hope you liked it!!
Your explanation about the Liberdade hood is crucial because even Brazilians are unaware of its dark history. Great!t film :D
Thank you!!
This is by far the best documentary I've ever seen someone from outside doing about my home city. Thank you! And I hope you had a great time here.
I absolutely LOVE the way you shoot and speak about other cultures it feels like a documentary in the most artistic sense of the word
this is one of the best things i've ever watched!!! such good shots, narration and everything was top tier!!! deserves an award! (I"m from são paulo hehe)
Thank you!!!
Thank you so much :)
Enjoyed this video! Going to São Paulo for the Eagles vs. Packers game next week and needed a crash course definitely helped with food selection! Cheers!
Outstanding documenting grade! Congrats, from a seasoned video editor... SP is a backup city that holds a small piece of all mankind!
Thank you :) :) We loved filming in Sao Paulo
I’ve been living in São Paulo for a year now and let me tell you I’ve never seen a video so good and informative as this one! Congrats on the absolute great job you’re doing!
You did my city justice, great video! It's hard to be a foreigner and be able to capture the city's soul so beautifully as you did!
I'm from São Paulo, born and raised. I loved your video, it portrayed our city well.
Well done! Awesome video. Even though I am living abroad for the last 15 years and visited over 50 countries and more than 100 cities, my city still one of the best cities in the world.
the production, the quality, the script, the landscapes, this is CINEMA.
Meu Deus, que conteúdo incrível! Você é perfeita, muito bem vinda ❤️🇧🇷
Thank you!
04:15 the band playing is called DEVICE and they are from Brasília, capital of Brazil. I didn't know about the inspiration of Pichação coming from Heavy Metal cover albums. Great videos!
Hahaha yes, that's us playing at a festival that took place in Brasília. What a pleasant surprise! 🤘
@tullio.Olá 🤝 bom dia
You've captured the spirit of our city so nicely! Thanks for showing such appreciation. I hope that you come back soon and that you always feel welcome here :)
Great documentary! It is on the same level as the great productions of Brazilian TV channels. Congratulations!
Wow, thank you!!
Why offend them??
honestly i think it's even better
A wonderful presentation of Sao Paulo! Thank you for sharing! You are fantastic!
YOUR POV DESCRIBES VERY WELL THE SAO PAULO ATMOSPHERE E URBAN DINAMISM. CONGRATS FOR YOUR CHANNEL!!!
Thank you very much!
Im born at São Paulo state, but living about 400km of São Paulo City. Invariably, we living São Paulo all the time, because it is our capital. Im lived 9 years of my life in São Paulo City and, really, your content is superb... This is a real SP!
the way she bring our culture to her videos are impactant, sao paulo its a very big city with a lot of cool things to do, but you choose to bring only what people here really do! showing our truly brazilian human being
This is incredible! You’ve not only captured the essence of São Paulo but also the vibrant Brazilianness that shines throughout Brazil. Hands down, this is the best content I’ve ever seen from a foreigner in Brazil 🫶
Thank you so much!!
Você é incrível! Um exemplo para o mundo! Parabéns! Abraços desde Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil!
Well done! I started to watch your content prior to a trip to San Francisco and it was really helpful. I like that you’re covering Brazil now, my home country. Great view of São Paulo!
I need to go back to SP!!! I Miss it so much!!!
Great Vlog ! been to Rio many times but never São Paulo so I'll probably visit after seeing this video !
São Paulo City is The big City of America, megapower City is beatful and modern.
what a spectacular view of our brazil. congratulations for showing it to us in such a beautiful way!
Wow! It's sooo impressive how you managed to capture the essence of this city. I've lived in São Paulo for over 10 years and could not do such great job. Congrats!
Your video is beautiful and made me emotional, I miss my country everyday. São Paulo is far from perfect, but it's home ❤
A beautiful and complex place ❤ Thank you for watching
Jesus! What a great job u guys are doing! It’s an incredible video, and I love São Paulo by the way
We are watching from Mulki ,India ..Coastal town once part of Portuguese settlement..you know Goa ...the same coastal belt 😊
São Paulo is a fantastic city. With modern and contemporary architecture, as well as incredible cuisine. Football and lots of bar and music options at night.
Rich in culture and vibrant with human experiences. Well done.
I was in Sao Paulo for several months and was looking for a video to show my friends my experience of Sao Paulo and you nailed it. Obrigado. 😊
I am very surprised to find out (by watching this Sao Paulo Travel Video) that there is a large Japanese Population in this part of Brazil. Wow! 🤔😳🗾
Muitos japoneses,chines e coreanos
In Brasil we got the biggest japonese population out of Japan. They are totally part of our formation as a metropole
@@brasilferreiracinema9029 that's wonderful to hear. 😏👍👍💯🇯🇵🇧🇷
Not only large, the largest.
Conseguiu demais retratar o Brasil no vídeo
A reportagem é ótima! Valeu! É nóis!
She only visited touristical and middle class areas, but she captured the spirit of São Paulo so deeply in this video!
Very nice discussion about grafite and pixação and I'm so glad to you for mentioned the forgotten black history in Liberdade!
Next visit come to more unknown places and you will make another great video!! 🥰🎉
99% of videos about Brazil are just about favelas and poverty (Which are far from representing the average Brazilian), so when we finally have a video that doesn't show this people complain 🤦♂️
Dots on a map Thank you! Bom trabalho canal!👏👏👏🤜🤛🤝✌🖲🔝💗
It took me by surprise, I thought your video about Brasilia had been just a random luck, but I'm glad you made it one more city I liked your video template
Thanks! More coming from Brazil.
really fantastic video. a declaration of love for the city with absolutely no sentimentalist cliché. beautiful. I was raised in SP and felt good indeed to see the monster from your point of view. thank you!
Wow, thanks! It is absolutely a fascinating and complex city.
Your videos are amazing! Would be amazing you creste a vídeo about Minas Gerais Brazil, showing the hidden waterfalls, mines and the local food that is the best in Brazil
Thank you!!
Superb writing and editing, great filming and even sound design. You're very talented.
incredible video, really captured the diversity of our culture throught the different cities you visited
Every time you capture the ethos of the place so well..
🎉🎉🎉
What an incredible video!! Omg ❤
I'm from São Paulo and this is the best video about my city I've ever seen! Congratulations for your job and your creativity, you'll always welcome here!
I want to visit sao Paulo ❤
@@muhammadmuzammil9896 You are going to be welcome here, I hope you like our city
i'm from São Paulo and this video was a huge huge surprise to me. it shows many many aspects not commonly shown elsewhere and it was just lovely to watch, such beautiful perspective for people that still haven't visit São Paulo just yet. amazing work making this video, keep it up.
I live here in Sao Paulo for more than 40 years and world like to thank you for a respectful and in-depth view of our city. It has a lot of problems, but also a lot of beauty and places to enjoy
I was born and lived there from 1970 to 1998, 28 years therefore. For those who left Sampa and live in the interior, it is a pleasure to watch your documentary! You managed to express the São Paulo spirit with great depth. Congratulations!
wow, this video has an amazing narrative
Thank you!!
This video was really well done with many good features on the locations, people and food. I am planning to travel to Brazil in the near future and your video provides a great overview and good cultural guidance. I am a new fan. Many thanks for your video work. Two thumbs up !!!
Saludos desde el Cairo Egipto ❤️ 🍉 greetings from Cairo Egypt ❤️ 🍉
These videos are so incredible. Rio4Fun already said enough about the cinematography, so I wanna talk about how beautiful, not only in appearance, you are. From the smile to the way you are, the vibe you give is totally of someone passionate about discovering new cultures, which makes the reality become beautiful as it is, even if it's melancholic.
wow, thank you so much!! obrigada
It deserves a million likes!
sorry, but this video deserves more views! Impressive filming style and editing!
Epic proletarian 'rima' starting in the 14:36!!! ✊🏽
Edit: and also again at the 17:31. What a nice surprise in this video.
To sendo paulistano errado.
