Even the Nav is glitchy on my bike. Also, the XM radio is practically unusable because to poor reception. BMW has updated the SW three times-
I was so frustrated with the BMW Connected app and my phone disconnecting from Bluetooth, I just bought a Garmin zumo. I have a subscription to SiriusXM, too. Do you have an app for the headset? If so, when you connect to tft screen you may have conflict between the BMW app and the headset app... just a thought.
I did finally get my radio installed. It’s absolutely amazing and wonderful. The dealer did not charge me any additional charge. They put it all under warranty. Zero cost to me
I agree with all your comments. It's a shame the system was set up the way it is. I wish they'd offered Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Otherwise a wonderful machine.
I've already planned to run an iPod touch with mine since it doesn't need data for the maps and I don't plan on ever answering the phone while I ride anyway. Curious to see what the September update brings.
Glad to see that Ducati isn't the only mfg. with connecting issues. How does your GPS connect? Through an APP? I gave up on that on my MS V4S, even after multiple updates. Bluetooth works just fine with IPhone 11 pro and Sena 50R, although I can't hear callers but they hear me fine. Tunes work well and are at decent volume without earplugs, with plugs obviously not so much.
@@KimMoonbmwmoonie Totally agree. I have watched a couple of the BMW official 'podcasts' and the product leaders of the Connectivity solution have stated that they believe they know motorcyclists best and therefore can build the best TFT/Navigation system. My brother and I took delivery on our 2022 RTs in February 2022. My bike was great, except the TFT screen. If I had any hair left I would have yanked it out in frustration. My wife and I have the Sena 20 headsets, communication between the two units was flawless, however when it came to listening to music or getting audible directions through the TFT, forget it. After a software update a month or so ago, the unit performed better. However the phone and music were not functioning. My brother finally figured out the issue, which apparently BMW and Sena both offer conflicting ideas. On my I phone under settings in Bluetooth do the following, when it comes to Sena, forget this device. Pair your helmet through the BMW TFT screen. How come the engineers at BMW not figure this one out? I put over 9k miles on this bike so far and finally I can make a call through the headset, listen to music; ( the sound of the bike is my music) it work’s flawless.
I just bought my 2021 RT in Sept 2021 and I had to do a "factory reset" on the TFT menus to get the connectivity to work via the Wi-Fi on the bike. Once I did the factory reset, everything worked as you explained it should. I am using an iPhone 11 Pro Max, and a Schuberth helmet with built in audio. I would suggest to reset the bike computer and reset the helmet Sena, and then NOT connect the BMW app and just try to get the audio working first such as playing music and not the phone call.
