    I’ve just ordered 23 model RT with option 719 package and started to watch all RT reviews.
    Clearly can say your review is the best so far.
    Good job. Thank you

    I think BMW missed a big opportunity to integrate Android Auto and Apple Carplay into the new display.

    Great review. I have always been innbetween RS and RT models, and this finally made med step over the fine line selling my 2015 RS in favour for this RT that I am picking up this coming weekend.

    Love the idea of adaptive cruise control on a touring bike like this....could be a game-changer.

    Traded my Honda VFR 1200F for a 2023 R1250RT. I loved the VFR and thought it a pinnacle of sport touring. Well, the RT simply eclipses it. Forget the technology, the RT has confidence inspiring performance and the most useable tractable engine for 95% of your riding whether sport or touring. It is an amazing bike.

      I am using the older R 1200 RT for this purpose und I ride it all year round in Berlin traffic commuting to and from work. I think it is the perfect bike for all-weather riding, agile at low speed but also capable for highway riding. Love the panniers.

    Beautiful bike! Perfect size for the canyons and twisties. But why is there no “backlit handlebar switches for night riding?” Also the charging port is only large enough for a regular phone. There are more popular Plus size primes that will not fit. BMW is premium. These things should be addressed at once! Otherwise the bike is awesome.

    This is a great bike, I was going to buy one. But for me personally on the market appears a little game changer Honda NT 1100 (for me manual + quick shifer + central pack) .

    There is not anything about this bike that I don't like, but what about the wind shield, the first part that is normally replaced on one of these bikes is just that, I ride a 09 1200rt for three and a half years now and just have not been able to afford to replace it. It has to be up all the way most of the time and there is another shield i would like to buy. Most people replace the riders seat, can't afford that either, my older bike rides great but sadly I am unable to ride the bike too far because of back trouble, three bad car accidents twenty years ago left me with a very messed up back, but i sure enjoy the ride and hard to believe that my back does not bother me nearly as much as driving my vehicle does. Even a new Mercedes bothers my back after some time. I'm still rockin and rollin. I would like to have a 18 or 19 since the 2010's were redesigned so much, mine is still pretty great.

    Excellent review, as always. Thanks. I have now ridden this bike for about 3,000 km and thoroughly enjoy it. Even though the TFT is great , I wish the views were more programmable. For instance, the only time I ever looked at the tachometer was during the break-in period. And when you ride in the dynamic mode (I agree - it is the fun mode), there is no need to even have a tachometer because the engine pulls great at any RPM. Different riders would no doubt opt for different default views if they were selectable. However, there is one thing that needs to be changed soonest: The longest selectable distance to the vehicle up ahead when on Active Cruise Control is waaaayyyyy to short. It is a safety issue. The ACC 'radar' acquires the target from a much longer distance and, since there are three selectable distances, the longest one should provide much much more reaction time for any sudden manouvers that may become necessary. Let's hope that BMW incorporate the change in their next firmware update; especially if they intend to introduce the same ACC technology in this year's K1600 bikes.

      @@onroadvideo Maybe in a couple of years, then. It is so popular that they will surely update it to more modern standards. The K bikes look nice and their engines are great but, having already owned two RTs before my newest one, I am an incorrigible RT type ;-)

      I am using the active cruise for 2 months now, and don't find the 3rd setting close to vehicles in front. Actually I use level 2, and find that the sweet spot. when I try level 3, it's leaves too much of a gap between the car in front and yourself, that lots of cars seem to "push" into your lane, in front of you. Also when that happens, the bike adjusts it's speed nice and easy. There are 2 settings for how the bike should brake when using ACC, maybe your setting is set to the dynamic braking mode?

    The lighting sucks. There needs to be an adjustment to raise the lights to gain some more distance. You can’t ride Around on hi beams. This is a step backwards in lighting. My 2009 had a better lighting system because I could install HID hi power bulbs.

    • @PaoloD2R2
      @PaoloD2R2 Год назад

      you drunk dude. The headlight are self levelling. PLUS, there is a screw under the front light assembly to raise/lower the beam. PLUS, led lighting nowadays are way better that HID. You probably don't even have the bike.

    Interesting review, my question is it reliable ?. Also any known mechanical or other issues with R1250RT.

    • @pgVeritas
      @pgVeritas 2 года назад

      The boxer twin engine has been in production in some variation since the 1930s. There probably isn’t a more reliable and robust engine out there. Additionally, BMW bike engines protect themselves if they sense a fault. Years ago (2008) I stopped to fill my K1200S up. After filling it, it refused to start again. When the BM dealer picked it up, they told me it had a timing chain fault. The sensors detected it, and to prevent damage, it immobilised itself. Considering that was 14 years ago on a more complicated engine, I should imagine BMW have come a long way since then. There is no more reliable bike brand than a BMW.

    Just a correction....those 4 short cut buttons are not programmable, I wish they were, but they not. You mentioned you programmed the button, not sure how you did that? They come pre-set...1. Auto mute, 2. Heated grip and seat setting, 3. Audio source between radio and media (only works if the bike is fitted with the optional radio, 4. Navigation.

      Curious how you’re liking it, I went to buy the RT and ended up with a B after demo rides. The B seemed more our style for 2up riding.

    • @zunaidkajee4540
      @zunaidkajee4540 3 года назад +2

      @@beardedbiker2647 For me personally I really like the RT better than the bagger. The bagger had a left pull that annoyed me. The weight reduction makes walking speed riding a breeze on the RT, or maybe the balance of the RT is just better. I also welcomed the new tech of the RT, as the bagger is a bit old. I had the normal bagger and not the grand America, so the pillion seat was not as comfy (for the wife) as she finds the RT. Maybe it's because I have a top box, with the backrest....I was skeptical about the smoothness, being a boxer, but she has surprised me. Both engine and quickshifter smoother than an inline 4....
      safe riding buddy.

      @lex1945 2 года назад

      Agreed. BMW is going the way of people that buy these electronic BMW's only to ride them for one season and then trade them back in. Good luck for the 2nd and 3rd owners when warranty is off.. No way you can work on these bikes your self. I'll stick to my old R1150RT oilhead. Bike that is still reasonably simple and to maintain yourself. And these bikes can reach very high mileage!
