Clan Graham of Montrose here in NH, USA 🇺🇸. Our ancestors weren't exactly paragons of good behavior. In the movie "Rob Roy" James Graham, Earl of Montose, treated Rob Roy MacGregor and his clan horribly. Another Graham was responsible for Mary, Queen of Scots, husband Lord Darnley 's death. A Graham of Mentieth betrayed William Wallace to the English. Parts of these vids had me in tears, as I've been to Scotland only once. 😢 I don't think that I'll make it back. Thank you for these memories. A point of interest, if you want a comparable site in the US, go see the battlefield of Gettysburg. We went early in on a summer morning, just before sunrise. The fog followed us around, and we were alone, but we weren't. It was the spookiest place I've ever been. The tour in Scotland didn't allow us to go to Culloden. Thanks again for the trip!
I've watched hundreds of filming site videos. But this one is the best I've ever seen due to the addresses listed and reference footage from the series interlaced with your video. Great job! Thank you!
Sean, great stuff. My grandfather is Bill Grant so, obviously, the Clan Grant rock at Culloden was on my list of things to see when we spent three weeks in Scotland before the Outlander TV series premiered. It turns out, the Grants fought on the British side - stupid mercenaries. They were also very prominent residents at Urquhart Castle. Nevertheless, I couldn't resist having a bit of Glen Grant single malt in a pub in the village of Grantown-on-Spey. I'm sure your family was questioning your reasons for visiting all these filming locations, but I hope they realize now, after thousands of views, how much joy you have brought to devotees of the Outlander story.
Thank you so much! Wonderful comment and history of Clan Grant! As much as we love Outlander, we love the real history behind these locations. I am working on some individual videos of some of the more prominent locations like Urquhart Castle. Stay tuned for more!
This is awesome! Love seeing the modern location then the Outlander scene in that location! I'm planning a Scotland tour next year and this is so exciting to watch! Thank you!
Hi outlanders if not for covid and money I'd be in Scotland and go on an outlander tour this year ,this is the next best thing ,thanks for sharing ,love being an outlander superfan ,
Great video, so much work interchanging the clips but makes such a difference to making sense of the scenes - sorry some of the venues weren’t open when you visited that’s a pity after all your hard work, we Scot’s tend to go out and about more in the Spring 😂. Hope you come back and visit some day, in the “summer” of course 😁. Thank you again. 🥰🏴🇬🇧
I live in Falkland where a lot of it was filmed. We used stand and ring in the bells with a drink at Hogmanay (new years) on the cross. This cross (town square) is where the jacobite ghost appears in the first episode.
So enjoyed this video. I have the Books on the Making of Outlander and this was a real insight into the locations. Thank you so much. Fantastic work. I am sure I will watch it more than once as I live in Australia and can only dream of a visit to Scotland.
Great video. There's so much to see in my beautiful country of Scotland. George Square was also used in "world war z" . As I said, great video, with a terrific insight, and brilliant details on the show. Well done guys. Very professional.
Pronunciation is Culross is Cuulross ( u not o). inlithgow - go at the end, silent w. Dunure (Dunyour - emphasis in u not oo). Another mispronounced is Brurntisland....not Burnt-is-land but Burnt Island. Hope this helps.
Fantastic video sir. I'm lucky enough to live right in the middle of a lot of these places. Did you happen to go to Midhope Castle (Lallybroch)? It's half way between Edinburgh and here (Falkirk)
Yes I did. Be sure to see our other Outlander Filming locations video. There are so many locations that I had to spread over two different trips. Midhope is in the other video.
@@Photasmathis is completely the wrong location listed in several other videos and websites, they say it’s to the east of Doune on “the hill of Row” but your images match up🤔
@@Photasmathe “big house” on Frasers Ridge. I’ve been to Doune Castle today and asked where it was and they are saying what most others say, “hill of row” near Doune, the Ardoch burn was the river. So confused!🤦♀️
There are still several locations I haven’t filmed. I have 2 videos of locations shot over different trips we took to Scotland. Just having the time to get them all is a challenge.
If you have any questions about anything in the video, feel free to ask!
I so want to return to Scotland
We did too! Don’t regret going.
I just started watching Outlander again. It's been several years since I first watched it.
Thank you for this tour, very well done indeed. Bravo.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi I'm a big outlander fan and seeing this makes me feel I'm here and on an outlander tour ,thanks for sharing ,loving outlander ,

Yesssss...I wish I could visit these places and feel that historical energy. Unfortunately financially speaking, it's a pipe dream 😢

Interesting family history. Thanks for watching and Gettysburg is definitely on the list!
I haven't watched Outlander, but l am sure the fans are happy with your video.
Videos show some good places to visit for non-outlander fans as well.

It sounds like Caitríona singing! Wondering if that was her? Beautiful singing
Nope, there is a link to the singer in the description below the video.

You should!
Awesome thank you!
You're welcome!
The addition of your family and friends take away from the enjoyment for Outlander fans!
Little sidenote also, Bamburgh castle is also used as Bebbanburgh in the last kingdom series.
Cool, I hadn’t watched that series, but may need to give it a look!
I visited Culross recently, such a lovely little village with buildings dating back thousands of years, fascinating.
It is such a cool place!

All looks great, just making me cringe with mispronunciation of several words.
the man is doing a great job from a scot
Where exactly is the location of the Big House frim outlander?. Been trying to locate it on google earth but can't seem to locate it.
Look for Straid House Bed and Breakfast. See if you can spot it from there.
Hello. Love the video great info. Planning an outlander tour myself. How many days do I need to plan? Thanks Becky
We knocked this video out in a week. We did another video hitting other Outlander sites on a prior trip which also took a week.
@@Photasma do you think 10 days would be a good time frame? Thanks
@@beckyfish1427 definitely, you could see a lot in that time frame.
@@Photasma thanks 😊
Is it possible to get the lyrics right to go with the song! 😮

If we ever visit would you be our tour guide? lol The coolest thing I've ever seen. Thank you so much for this.
Thanks so much. Hopefully after watching you won't need a guide. You can find these places all on your own!
Fascinating insight ~ thank you very much. Really interesting.
Thank you so much! We really appreciate it!
You forgot Burntisland Harbour in your locations
