Wrestling definitely has it's advantages for someone wanting to get into grappling. I noticed as wrestler myself that when grappling with other people who know jiu-jitsu I had the advantage of clean takedowns, top control and stamina. But very true that even when I'm on my back in grappling, I never feel comfortable lol. It's just nailed into your head when you wrestle for a couple years.
Olimpic wrestling and Judo are based on BALANCE, POWER SPEED and CONTINUITY, INTENSITY...Don't fall in any position to the ground and attack the center of gravity is the core target...Grappling is an efficient type of wrestling that is specialized to the ground...Grappling does not emphasize BALANCE and is less dinamic ( POWER - STRENGTH ) but needs GREAT RESISTANCE OF THE STRENGTH, the timing of intensity expression is different...Grappling emphasizes the EFFECTIVENESS OF THE TECHNIQUE ( I think that american catch wrestling was technically more complete, the real bad wrestling of the history...But this is an old story... ).Both require great resistance...Both are necessary to develop a good athlete of MMA....
Not really. The two words mean roughly the same thing. Also there are multiple different styles of wrestling, some (like Greco-Roman and highschool folkstyle) being almost pure sports while others (catch and some British folk styles) are still mostly combative. Also some wrestling styles are only sportive as long as you observe the rules for winning-- for instance in Cornish wrestling a bout is won by throwing your opponent flatly onto his back, whereas in a fight you would try to throw the man onto his head in an attempt to break the neck or even use the jacket to strangle him. It all depends on context and application.
So simple yet I was wondering what the hell was the difference

Wrestling is grappling, grappling is not an art in itself,it just means to wrestle.
i did just learn the difference ^•^
There are submissions in wrestling
Trash boy Nope. Not allowed in freestyle wrestling, not Greco, and not folk style.
@@martiallife4136 yep, the only three wrestling styles that exist
Catch wrestling is full of submissions, locks and holds
@@martiallife4136 but in street wrestling there are
Im even more confused than when I started
The title/question doesn't make sense.
It's like explaining what's the difference between striking and boxing.
So wrestling is a game while grappling is a martial art.
