I saw Muay Thai and Kali and couldn't agree more , I train in both and Also boxing , I'm missing both BJJ and Krav Maga in my arsenal but Kali is unique in its Violence and emphasis on speed and brutality.
Excellent Video clip! Excuse me for butting in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you heard the talk about - Chireetler Dread Free Rule (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a good one off product for learning self effective defence moves without the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my BF at very last got excellent success with it.
Thanks for the Video clip! Excuse me for the intrusion, I would love your thoughts. Have you researched - Schallingora Family Friendship Scheme (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a smashing one off guide for revealing some simple military style self defence techniques to protect your family minus the headache. Ive heard some super things about it and my cousin after many years got great success with it.
What about "kajukenbo"? It's a mix of Karate, Judo, Jujutso, Kenpo, Boxing, Kung Fu and Eskrima. It was invented in Hawaii JUST for self defense and street fighting.
Hey you're actually making some very good points! When I first saw your logo I thought: "Great, another self defense instructor who thinks every problem can be solved with eye pokes and groin strikes!" But I actually really agree with you, especially with your views on BJJ. I saw a lot of street fights and about 90 percent of them turned into a grappling fight after trading a couple of strikes and many went to the ground! Not training some form of grappling is such a huge hole in a persons game!!! Thank you for this video!
That's awesome! :D Which ones do you practice? Which one do you want to practice and/or have now taken up? I used to practice various styles, mostly Judo, Taekwondo, and Combat Hapkido, but also a small amount of Wing Chun and Yang Taijiquan. Wing Chun wasn't for me as I had a poor teacher and the structure of it didn't seem very efficient in regards to how much energy was expended in striking and the hand trapping seemed kind of unhelpful to me personally. Then again, I was likely not being taught how to do it correctly anyway. I've had chronic back pain for five or so years now after a bad injury, so now my kicks are useless to me and my grappling is limited to a few takedowns, some holds, chokes, joint locks, and limb breaks. Lately, I've found adding Boxing to my current capabilities to be extremely advantageous. Sorry for the ramble, martial arts is a huge passion of mine, and I hope to teach someday. Sadly, my teaching goals seem as though they may be unattainable due to the back pain, lack of money, and my having to move to another state with virtually no martial arts schools save for a couple of Karate places and an MMA gym that while it offers Boxing, it will take a miracle to afford, but either way I'm still going to keep on trying. Anyway, if you ever see this comment, I hope that you are doing well and I wish you luck in your training and in all other elements of life. :)
All the arts you mentioned are also good, but IN MY OPINION and EXPERIENCE, these are the top 5. Edited out of the video was the section with other notable arts including Wing Chun, Krav, Keysi Fighting Method, etc.
+Facts Tube Cheers for the Video clip! Apologies for the intrusion, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you heard the talk about - Chireetler Dread Free Rule (should be on google have a look)? It is a good exclusive product for learning self effective defence moves without the normal expense. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my work colleague after a lifetime of fighting got astronomical results with it.

Great video content! Sorry for chiming in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you considered - Chireetler Dread Free Rule (do a search on google)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for learning self effective defence moves minus the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my close friend Aubrey after a lifetime of fighting got amazing success with it.
KickBoxing And Muay Thai Boxing And American Boxing And JuJitsu And KaiJuKenbo Karate And Little Bit of Wing Chun And Little Bit Tae Kwon Do And Filipino Escrima Kali And Judo And Wrestling And Little Bit Of Shaolin Kung Fu..Polynesians.Lima Lama Samoan And Hawaiian Style Lu'a Martial Arts....The Art Of Breaking Bones...
boxing with wrestling is not a bad combo when you have on jeans or fighting on ice or snow. on the soccer field, mat or ring bjj is awesome. on a warm beach, barefooted a good kicker can be bad ass as well. when it comes to weapons, being a fast runner is the best. fuck that shit
Arts like Kali&Jkd Concepts are my most preferred arts that I study. Arts like BJJ is one-sided when it comes to combat. Why?! It's trained for sport, but, not all around survival. Yeah! Against a single opponent with no skills in ground fighting will easily lose. But, if he has a box cutter, razor blade, or steak knife. What will you don't he as BJJ practioner? It has no responses for weapons. To me, it is flawed!!!But like you said, "it's the user not the art", practioners of this art still trains BJJ as a sport till this day. Without any practical uses of self defense responses. That's why I considered it flawed.

for street fights, choose the art that teaches you how to defend against multiple attackers,knives,sticks/baseball bats.i know of such incidents in which chinese kungfu and kuntaw prevailed.
This all just a matter of opinion. I have been doing martial arts my whole life and no style is better than another. What is best is what is for you. I have seen jeet kune do guys get destroyed by mma fighters. My friend who is a judo stylist destroyed a Muay Thai fighter. I know a guy who has trained in Filipino Kali and has trained in that style for 15 years and he told me he got destroyed by a jiu jitsu fighter. So you see nothing is guaranteed. All depends on the person and how you train. One of the toughest people I know is a guy from Israel and he trains the IDF Israel’s military in real Krav Maga, and that system is viscous. So no style is better than any other style.
Wouldn't Judo teach someone how to grapple and get out of choke holds? So why is Jiu Jitsu in it's own category for grappling? Would Judo teach enough on how to fight someone when grappling and getting out of holds?
bruce lee Traditonal style no... Taught properly with pressure testing and sparring? Yeah its pretty effective for crowded areas... Check out glasgow wing chun they do alot of it and weapons training they are teaching it correctly
Fitting self defense in a sport box is very bad advice....your picks are for the young.....how long can you mu. Tau for....or wrestle......i defiantly see weopons but Kali gets to comprehensive with things that you would never use.....tactical Hapkido....wirh some ground work is a good system and is conceptual......any arts can be used with right training.
Patricio MacNiven not all of them. Have you seen a muay Thai or Brazilian jiu jitsu fighter In a real right? Why do police train in jiu jitsu? because it works. But I agree most other martial arts take a long time to master or just aren't suitable for this day and age

Agreed Sir!
I box and do Judo. Both skill sets have saved my backside more than once.
