Much appreciated with this very handy video. I am sure that I will have use for it sometime later. A couple of my down pipes show rust spots on the outside. Thank you very much indeed.

When using 3x3 downspouts, measure from edge of fascia to siding or wall. Subtract 8" for A style swings.
    3x4-subtract 10"
    2x3 subtract 6.
For B style 3x3 (haha funny I know) measure from fascia to wall and subtract 3.
    3x4 B subtract 4.
    2x3 subtract 2.

25mm measures leaves an angle that is really quite obtuse , what mm would you use to have the downpipe closer to the eaves as it heads to the wall

Whats the use of rivet/hole? I dont see any bracket that will hold the bend?

Its cut so that there is an overlap, one layer covers the other, when he drills it is through both layers. The rivet too.

Thanks for showing us how to do it. Do you need to seal it all around?

What are the angles on your diagonal cuts are they pretty much the same every time. I have been using 35 degrees for the first set of cuts then 40 degrees for the second set. I can't seem to get the goose neck right. It is always to short or to long. Do you just keel sliding L square down until your ruler reaches your messurement?

      Hi Brandon,
      Thanks for your reply.
Firstly for this to work you will need to use the same angle on both of the cuts.
I always make the top angle up first "The one that connects to the gutter"
I measure the horizontal distance from the side of the pop to the wall. "Time in video 1:56" This is critical measurement to make it work.
I use a big square to transfer this measurement over to the down pipe. This give the pivot point of the second angle. "Time in video 2:24 " Not how the above become the pivot point.

A stupid question: Will the rain water not come out at the bend and run also on the outside of the downspout? Thanks.

not a stupid question. this is the proper method for the topmost gooseneck coming from the gutter. For lower goosenecks downstream, it will have be cut and fastened a little differently. Upper segments fit into lower segments, the way water runs.

In Vic they tell us to not use a lead pencil, which stands to reason.

What needs to done to make this video effective, beneficial and truly instructional!
    1. Lose the horrible background Musak!
    2. Replace it with a voice commentary explaining each and every step!
    3. Use a Black marker pen that can easily be seen.
    4. Rivets are cheap. Use 2 on either side for extra strength!
    5. Discover and use silicone to seal the joint!
    6. SLOOOOW it down!
    🔨👷‍♂️👍

Okay but all the careful angle measurements and thinking behind where to draw the lines for cuts are not explained so the video is limited in its usefulness for. beginner

Thanks for the helpful video, but it would be more helpful if you did not speed it up so much (freeze frame shows blurry images) and paused once in a while to show a better view of the cutout lines.
