I've never done this method before but did it on a few pipes I banged in yesterday, the exposed lip may not look as pretty as the way everyone does it these days but I can but its a hell of a lot more durable, and this method doesnt obstruct half of the pipe volume at the bends so les chance of blockage. Nice video!
Thanks pretty useful for me. Struggled doing my first one today because the bend was only 55 degrees. Made a cardboard template and used that as I couldn't find a protractor. Interesting yours is the only video I've seen with a long side lap as well.
Pouring rain here is Sydney, after the bushfires, had to fit 2 down pipes, like having you next to me! Turned out perfect! Didn't have a protractor so printed one off the net.Otherwise, I would have been doing a lot of patching with tin scraps & silicone:-)
Nice work mate,But how hard would it have been to just say the measurements.. Instead of saying use the measurements from the previous video. What if people haven't seen the previous video ?
From most suppliers, downpipes 100 X 75 are: Measure from gutter to first bend Mark it all the way around go down 130 mark it all the way around between the two marks is your measurement make sure the flaps are on the upper section always or it can leak. measure to the wall. repeat keeping in mind that the cut will be at the front of the gutter this time, not where the seam is.
Best tutorial I've seen on how to do this from start to finish. Explains every aspect of how to do it yourself. A big tip of the hat. Thank you.
Your description of making external gutter corner is excellent. Thank you.
Best video I have seen on making a bend in a downspout. Thank you
