    Did this in 1975 in sheet metal class , it really works

    Did that for many years without the fancy shear and pan brake. All by hand. Nice job.

    This is really cool, now the challenge is how to fabricate something like this out in in the field without a break.

      The layout is the same, you could roll it if the gauge of the metal is light enough over a pipe or something round

    Great job! May I ask you how thick the metal is and does it have a special label? Thank you in advance.

    why all the extra work ? equal taper only needs 1/4 lay out of working view

    U know they make a plasma cutter that can cut it all to precise just have to bend .but this was the way I was taught u can still get the same result but it take awhile to do

      We've got the software and an #amada #fiberlaser cutting machine to cut these out too. Come take a class and move up the pay scale. :)

      I think he does Gator Gator, but I also believe a student must master visualizing patterns. Why? A worker should have a pretty good idea of what the pattern should look like, knowledge of pattern making is the only way to double check your nested fittings before letting the plasma burn metal.

      That's why I made this comment we already own a plasma cutter and I wouldn't want to teach my guys that on the field because it would cost me 3 hours making it when I can do it in 30 minutes simple math but come take my class to show you how to do two full installs in a week now this is a 4-ton system heat pump. With 3 ppl on the job . I think guy was good at his video and clear on it. But that want make u money. But that's what makes the difference

      You don’t have to sell me on a Plasma table, I agree with 100% that it’s a game changer and well worth the investment. But, they do break down, and when they do! The certified Sheet Metal can still finish the job.

    Does the 20 degree braking work for all square to rounds no matter the sizes? Thanks.

    • @longbeachcitycollegemetalf3321
      @longbeachcitycollegemetalf3321  4 года назад +5

      Hi, since this pattern is 26 Ga (.019" or .5mm) it's thin enough for forming by hand with almost any degree bend. For thicker metal we'd use the formula of 90 degrees divided by number of bends. 10 bends would be 9 deg. etc.

      Try searching for sheet metal layout and you should find quite a selection.
